One thing that I really did not like was shades and this one… Well, two… Was really starting to get under my skin. I was not sure why I disliked them, but I did not like them and I was tired of them being around me. I could feel the power they held and my own discomfort was apparent to Osiris who was giving me mental growls. He also did not care much for Shades, of course, he did not care much for anything. I ignored anything that was not involving me, most the time and just looked around. The place was going on like a normal party, men and women were both getting drunk and many people were leaving their own dates to acquire new, pretty dates. The thought was revolting since I was not stupid as to what they wanted and I wished I could kill all the men who seemed to be like my stupid father. "Umm..may I speak?” I glanced to this stupid and very well pathetic shade and allowed my eyes to watch him as he spoke again to Renn. "Well, I have a couple things to say. The first being, thank you for the speech Renn." He was a smart ass, which I quickly noted in my own mental notes. Not only did he try and charm everyone, he wanted to make sure he had his own comments. "The second being, I don't think that even if we did disobey you, you are allowed to umm.. kill us. Well, I don't mean to undermine your authority, but killing any of us will result in questions. Why did Renn kill Schrren? The Empire will want answers. And when the Empire goes digging, they'll find out about our little club. So, I think you should scratch that. And I'm sorry if my disguise isn't worthy of you Renn. I assure you, I'll be amplifying my veil. Anything else....oh yes. I would like permission to go and mingle now." I looked at her for a moment, waiting to see what reaction would follow his stupidity. He was beyond stupid, I knew this and I was sure that others held the same thoughts.
I watched Renn now after the man bowed before her, seeing how she stood there for just a moment and kept her eyes glued on this stupid man. “Schrren, I must be applauding you for the virtue of speaking your mind. A pity, then, that you are possessing the sin of not having very much on your mind.” Not even I could bare to hold back, but I kept it mental and just looked at them, she was quick to make sure he stayed silent, which was a good thing because I did not want to hear his voice. “Do you truly think I would kill you where you stand? I am a patient woman, Shade, and one that knows her enemy. Of anyone in this operation, you were easiest to find the information on. Your hedonistic revels are renowned across Alagaësia. Such a life you lead- rape, torture, murder…” I did not know everything about this shade, but this quickly drove to my dislike of him… He was like my father in more way then just trying to be a charmer and it caused my to grit my teeth slightly as I looked at them. “… every insult to human rights under the sun. You have lived a life of pleasure, there is no doubting this, but you may be unaware that such actions have consequences. Tell me, do you remember the names of your victims? Are they trophies, or merely forgotten, faceless images in your memories? I can assure you that you are anything but faceless to them. Prince Valkynaz of the Underdark, a creature of power and honour, is now a slave to your every wanton need, be it pleasure or torture. Marsada Vega, Captain in the Imperial Army, forced to give you everything you desire to protect her daughter from you. May I mention that she is in close association with my father, General Kaname Kichirou? And finally Lella- I doubt you remember her at all- an innocent girl who worked in a factory that you violated and subsequently left for dead in a back alley of this very city. These are not even the beginning, Schrren. All these people are willing to give you what you rightly deserve- all they need is a little push…” I knew I had my reasons to hate Shades and this woman was quick to point everything I hated out about this one. I never knew about his past or even his presence, but this only told me to hate him more. Osiris was smiling at me mentally, which I could not help but looked up at him slightly. ”Can I kill him? Please Nayeli, I would so love to make him suffer and free all his slaves.”
I did not mind, I doubt the king would mind truly, he could get himself another shade, I was sure off and Osiris could just say that he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I watched as she poked a finger into the shade’s chest. “in the right direction. Renn Kuran didn’t kill Schrren, Renn Kuran didn’t even know Schrren. Renn Kuran was so very sorry to hear of the beloved Shade’s demise. Have I made my point? I don’t care if the King himself joins us here. On this operation, he answers to me. If he fails to do so, I shall use him as nothing more than the pawn in a chess game that accidentally dies for its cause. Satisfied?” I looked at the shade for a moment. He was not to happy about anything, however, I allowed my eyes to run over to Kyou and Murtagh, who was standing just behind me. ”Kichirou Renichi-san? Ah, souka.” In my opinion, this Kyou person was a mere suck up who honestly had no idea what she was doing. I had been trained all through my life and the extra boost as a rider helped me more then anything else also. ”Whatever you want me to do, I shall obey you.” I rolled my eyes at her for a moment, she was beyond stupid and I wished that Osiris could show himself, but I knew better then to allow such a thing to happen. I turned my eyes back on Murtagh, and focused most of my attention on him, however, I did keep my eye on the ring leader and the others in case I was needed for something or talked to. ”Oh. Er, thank you. Arwen was the one who told me to dress like this. Apparently my sense of style isn’t good enough. She basically fixed everything for me.” He was so easily embarrassed and I could not help but smile at this man. I could do just about anything I wanted and he would be embarrassed, but I knew better then to do such a thing. He did not need two Arwens messing with him, so I just left that part alone. He looked rather nice, but I also knew that his hair did not need to be slicked back like Arwen had done, I would have to tell her it looked better when it was in his face a little… To me, it made him look natural. I then allowed my eyes to turn back to the Asian woman who would be on my hit list one day I was for sure. I could tell Murtagh wanted to do nothing more then kill her, his anger was going out the roof and I knew that Arwen would want me to do something. I looked at Kyou for a moment and back at Murtagh. ”Murtagh, calm down, Arwen would not want you getting mad at something like this, you a better man then this.” I looked him dead in the eyes, my ice blue eyes were hard but gentle at the same time. I knew it was the truth. Arwen would rather Murtagh just leave things alone then for him to fight over her about something like this. I was not stupid and I just wanted him to calm down. I was not sure why I was acting like this, why I actually cared for him, but I did. ”Lady Nayeli, right? Ahaha, don’t tell me you’re friends with the filthy blood thing! I think you could do better than that.” I looked at her for a moment and narrowed my own eyes. I wanted to ring her own little neck, but I kept my anger under control, giving her a little smile before I allowed my emotionless, cold voice to come forth. ”Correct and I can tell you that she is a much better woman then you shall ever be and a much better killer, of course, from the look of things I could easily see that a mere child could kill someone before you could.” I was not one for insults right now, I just wanted her to leave Murtagh alone and actually talk to him instead of some stupid girl. I rolled my eyes as she spoke again, this time, my own mind blocking her out. Murtagh finally looked at me and I gave a half smile, hoping that something would calm him down. I was not sure how we got put on the same team, but we did and I honestly knew it was for the best. I watched as he grabbed Kyou hands and then pushed it away like it was a piece of dirty trash not meant for clean hands. I looked at Kyou, seeing her freeze for a moment and smiling as I heard my own dragon’s voice in my head. He did not play around with such things and I saw how her eyes showed annoyance and I just smiled, narrowed my own eyes as her’s grew cold and dark. I let my white teeth sparkle for a moment before giving Osiris a mental laugh. ”Your dragon is quite a mean one. You really should train him better, Nayeli-san~!” Now I let my laughter come forth slightly, looking at her for a moment and hearing my own laughter joined by another in my mind. I wanted to laugh louder, but I did not allow such a thing. ”If you can find any who can train such a beast, please do tell me, because even I have yet to find such a being, no dragon can be tamed, they will always be wild, or are you too stupid to understand such a thing…” I smiled at her as she showed no fear, but when she froze, it showed everything that needed to be shown to me. I allowed my eyes to return to Renn once again, still waiting to hear about anything else that I needed to know. ”Honto gomen nasi, Kichirou-san. Atashi… I’ll do my best to serve you in this mission. It was foolish for us to of caused...a commotion. I understand you perfectly.” I knew that a mere child could serve better on this mission then this stupid woman, this Kyou could do. I turned to Murtagh for a moment and then looked at Kyou as she walked away. ”Lady Renn. I understand what you are saying and I will correct my mistakes.” I nodded, though I quickly bowed and moved slightly away, but I was able to hear all that Renn was saying if she spoke again to everyone. I knew I needed to make sure that Murtagh was completely calm. I trusted him, he was byfar the only one I trusted besides Osiris, but he was high in the air or stationed someone near by in case we needed him, though he knew now to show himself to anyone. He growled to me next and I looked at Murtagh, waiting for him to say something after his own growl. ”If Thorn were here, he would of ripped her into pieces by now. How dare she insult Arwen like that? Coward. She only says it to others while she never says it to Arwen herself.” I had noticed that myself about Kyou, she had no respect. At least I would have spoken about the person in their face, I had done it countless times to captains and others who I despised. I watched as he was trying to hold himself together and then took something to drink and chugging it down. I had never seen him drink hard and I knew I did not want to do such a thing. ”She is defiantly someone I will not be helping much tonight, I think I would rather see her die then help her out… But she is not worth drinking over, just calm down, you are only giving her what she wanted.” Though I could tell by the lust she held in her eye that she wanted more then just a angry Murtagh. ”I never really got a chance to ask, but…when did you meet Arwen? I don’t exactly remember you ever practicing with her before.” I was surprised by this question but smiled slightly at him. ”Funny story… Osiris had gotten angry at me and had taken off on his own and I was searching for him. We got into a slight argument and then Osiris, though only the size of a large dog then, quickly showed himself and Arwen and I just started talking normal… It was kind of funny how we both thought we would be enemies and became friends.” I said with a little smile. I did not mind telling him how we met, but I wondered what all Arwen had said to him, how she had told him that I liked him, which I did… I liked him a whole lot, but I knew better then to show such affection… At least, right now anyway. I could hear noble women laughing and giggling not far away and gave them hard glares before allowing my eyes to settle back on Murtagh, However, even that was cut short as I noticed Renn about to give more instructions. “I agree, Xanathiel,” I must of missed something, but it did not surprise me and I was sure that Renn would tell us of this idea, or somehow, I would find out. “A fine idea. In fact, all eight of you shall being placed into pairs. Osiris, obviously, will not be participating, and I have my own tasks to carry out alone. I haven’t introduced everyone yet, have I?” I did not like being paired, but hopefully it would be with Murtagh, at least I would be some what comfortable with him. Now, on to the introductions, which were quick to follow. “At present, we are ten men strong. I am your leader, Renn Kuran, consul to King Galbatorix and daughter of General Kaname Kichirou of the Imperial Army. That… is Euryale Gorgophone, recently appointed elven ambassador and daughter of Councillor Cælestis Gorgophone. She shall be the lure. Gorgophone, I suggest you unbind your ears. Not only will it be marginally less painful, but an elf will doubtlessly draw attention.” I could feel the slight discomfort this elf held and I could also tell that Renn was not to fond of elves either. “Our two Riders apresent are Murtagh Morzansson and Lady Nayeli, daughter of Sir Bryce of the Imperial Army. Should a battle break out, they will be heavily relied upon. Until then, both of you will be our infiltration experts. Use your mental powers to locate anything hidden- rooms, compartments, and such. Osiris, Nayeli’s dragon, is our shock troop of sorts- we will only have him here if is absolutely necessary, and he will serve as transportation should things go badly.” I was shocked and I had to step in for Osiris. ”Malady, Osiris can only do so much… He is barely big enough to fly me much less anything heavier, he only came tonight if he was needed for fighting, nothing more.” My cold eyes stayed on her for a moment, I was not scared to give that point out there, she was not going to volunteer Osiris without consulting both of us and I knew he would only be able to do things such as fighting and making sure none got away. She did not seem to care much or she wanted to finish the introductions first. “This is Ellemere Mistra, elven civilian, who has lived in Du Weldenvarden until very recently. She will be serving as our tracker of anyone suspicious. And… We have been given two Shades, Schrren of the Empire and Xanathiel of the Varden. Schrren will be our interrogator, and will hunt down any magic users within the building. Xanathiel can put that efficiency to work as our counterintelligence agent. Any dangerous threats to our team or operations are to be dealt with swiftly and silently.” She had gotten slightly out of breath, but I just turned to the last two she had failed to introduce just yet, but it would not be very long. “Duren Maethor, unallied slaver and native of Dras-Leona, and Kyou Kanzaki, Nihonese-Imperial assassin. Maethor will also be serving as a counterintelligence expert, but not destroying our enemies. Instead, you will incapacitate them with words and subtlety. Kanzaki-san, your job is to gather information and not be caught. Flattery, poison that loosens the tongue, seduction- anything, but do not resort to fear and violence. Now, the pairing-” I rolled my eyes slightly as she gave Kyou the reason to flirt with anyone and annoy the mess out of me and Murtagh, but then again, maybe she would leave with some stupid Knight and never return. “Excuse me? You wouldn’t be called Xan here, would you?” I quickly noticed that it did not take long for Kyou to get the man she wanted to be paired with and that would give me another chance with Murtagh. “You wouldn’t mind being my partner, would you? Oh, you don’t mind? That’s just wonderful. Would you care for a drink?” I rolled my eyes and just smoothed out a place in my dress as the blind half elf went to another woman and then asked for a dance. “Clearly, people are going and picking for themselves,” I just looked at the four who had been matched together and then returned my eyes to Renn. “Kanzaki and Xanathiel shall be together, then, as shall Maethor and Gorgophone. As for you four… Nayeli and Mistra will be together, and so will Morzansson and Schrren. Now, the purpose of the partners. You do not have to be together all night, but is recommended you stay within eyesight or at least periodic mental contact. Is also your duty to protect this person, but keep in mind that sometimes the few must be sacrificed to save the many.” Well, at least I did not have to stay with my partner nor did Murtagh have to be bugged by the shade, I could be of some help to at least make sure he had more then a stupid, arrogant shade to look forward to. “You may contact myself through mental contact if is necessary, but attempt anything else and the consequences will be severe. Everything clear? Good. Off with you all. The people are starting to stare, and we have wasted enough time as is already.” I did not have to be told twice and quickly look at Mistra and gave a nod. ”Be careful when you come to contact me mentally, I have a very protective dragon and it might be best to go through him first and then to me,” I told the truth, he did not like people in my mind and nor did I like people in my own mind. I returned my attention to Murtagh and walked over to him after speaking with Mistra. ”Would you care to accompany me to the dance floor, she said mingle and I am not very good with crowds when I have no one to trust and watch my back.” I was not trying to flirt, but I did keep my voice low, acted as if I really wanted someone to be around me in case something were to go down. I hoped he accepted my offer, knowing that I could dance and I was sure being raised in a royal family he could dance also. At the least, I was furious. I guess that Shades have just fallen so far down the social ladder that no one respects them anymore. Well, that was all about to change. I was Schrren, no one yelled at me, especially such a flat midget. I snarled, baring my teeth. I said nothing, instead choosing to listen to the rest of what she had to say. It was terrible, the way she was making us have partners. But, I guess my luck changed when she assigned me Murtagh. My ager diminished somewhat, but that makes no difference considering the fact it was titanic in the first place.
Once people started making their ways to the dance floor, and splitting off into their partners, I made my way to Renn. I bowed before her, and tried not to make it to obnoxious, and then I whispered quietly so no one else could here. "Renn, I must apologize. I need not mean to, er...offend. But I must say, do not invoke those already forgotten. Sometimes, not even I can control all that are within me." And it was the truth. Demons were notoriously impulsive, and very hard to predict. Though my mind was dominate, whoever I had been before the demons was gone. It didn't bother me though, I liked who I was.
"Once again, I'm sorry. I hope we can continue the night with no...unpleasantries?" I gave her a quick smile, and then hugged her quickly. I felt her body stiffen, but I couldn't blame her. Everyone was afraid of what they didn't know. Then I strode off, looking for Murtagh. I saw that Lady Nayeli was asking him to dance. Hmph. Then I'd have to find someone else. I spoke in Murtagh's mind, invading his mind easily. I'll be near. If you need help, contact me. After his agreement, I withdrew my mind, and began to wander the area, staying close to Murtagh and Nayeli.
The room was absolutely gorgeous. There were pillars almost everywhere, silver and gray colors, all with rose vines circling up around them. The thorns had been picked, but a few people found out otherwise that there were still some that had been missed. The floor besides the dance floor was rug, and I walked along it, smiling as I watched the people dance. I also amped up my veil, making it nigh impossible for anyone to notice me. To others, I was a gorgeous red-head, with warm, incredibly dark brown eyes. Hey, everyone sees what they want to.
Without thinking about it, I found myself thinking and wondering about the blond I had seen before. He had been truly beautiful, and I wanted to meet with him once more. So instead of admiring the scenery, I began to look for the blond man with the military cut.
It was NOT easy. The room was filled with people, and some of them even had masks on. I turned people's head around ruthlessly, having a sudden obsession to find this man. I couldn't explain where it came from, but I suddenly wanted to find this guy. And then, I saw him. It was at a distance, an he was with three other men. I started making my way toward them, pushing others aside. The man looked up at me, his blue eyes glinting in an odd way, a faint smile on his lips. His other fiends began whispering heatedly together as soon as I arrived, and though I was curious, did nothing. "Good to see you again," I said, smiling. The man had been lounging on a couch, but now he stood up. "It's good to see you too,"and he grabbed me around the neck an pulled his lips to mine.
Okay, I was shocked. But hey, I liked it. I kissed him back passionately, not caring who saw, though I heard several comments that made me angry. I didn't realize that he was leading me away, away from the party, and away from Renn and Murtagh. But pretty soon we were in a different room, with only some spare furnishings. He threw me against the couch and started removing his clothes. I grinned, not realizing at all that I had been drawn away from what I was supposed to be doing.
OOC; HOMOPHOBES BEWARE!!!! and I hope this is alright, plotwise.

Ryoushii glanced around the room. The party around him continued, unaware of his presence. Oh, they noticed him, but with a veil around his eyes, they couldn't see the solid gold eyes blinking at them. Peasants, all of them. Fleeing at the first sight of him. His features were more different then the "normal" person. He was a shade, after all. Pale skin, teeth sharpened to points, and most importantly, his gold eyes. Renn's announcement was of little value. The rest of the conspirators filed out, so he followed. He knew why he was here. The team needed a person follow anybody suspicious. Right now, He had no idea what to do. The room didn't help. When he first arrived, the place seemed a heaven on earth. Gold plating farther then the eye could see. Jewels glittered in the lamp light. Servants scurried around. And the smells. Fear, anger, awe, excitement, all were mingled with perfume and sweat.
Nayeli seemed to ignore him, so he went on his own. The lady was supposed to be his partner, but she seemed too interested in another dragon rider to have time for him. Seeing a lady quite lonely, he walked up to her and asked her for a dance. Initially startled at the shade, she complied. Being a shade, he was really agile and the lady soon forgot her self and had fun. They danced among the couples. Ryoushii keeping an eye out for anybody he needed to follow. Of course, it was very hard with the chatter brain on his side. They danced. Even more important was the fact that her tongue let loose. It sounded like this
"You must be a elf. I heard they have pointed ears. Are you married? I am. That man there, talking to that lady, that's my husband. He is in charge of the the palace guards. He really is a meany. He never gives me presents just because and he never lets me fight with a sword. I am not really good but it would be fun. Are you a soldier? You wear no sword but you seem tense. Why are you tense? You know goats milk can calm a person right down" Ryoushii blinked at the onslaught. He almost growled. Wolves always growl when near someone who is crazy. Is this a typical human? Well now, a palace guard captain. Ryoushii needed to do something, so he decided to follow him. But first, to get away from this lady. She was still talking. About what? Ah yes, goats. this lady is mad. While searching for a distraction or excuse, Ryoushii noticed something. Shu'itan, the crazy priest, drew many disproving glances. Mixed in with that was awe. He seemed to bask in that glory. Right now, he was talking to Euryale Gorgophone. An old man, asking her to dance? The lady at his arm continued to talk, now about oak trees. He moaned.
As if to answer his unspoken prayer a commotion buzzed around the room. A four armed man walked into the ballroom. He looked quite all right, normal, but he had four, fully functioning arms. The lady was a buzz, talking so fast Ryoushii wanted to check if she was breathing. Seeing that she was getting no response, she coasted off to
Coasting through the room, he entered a hallway. The husband was talking to a soldier. Most likely about the four armed man. Glancing again into the room, Ryoushii got a clearer glance at him. Elven. Tall, not very bright, and had four arms. Ryoushii concluded that they were bodyguards for the priest guy. The other was...... boring. Compared to the first, of course. He seemed to be quite a spy. Trying to look at all directions at once and trying to hear everything marked him out.
The husband was moving now. His scent.....his scent smelled unique. Not amused or interested, like Ryoushii expected, but like a man attempting the impossible. The man opposite him smelled the same, but a bit more grim. What were they up to? Following closely, Ryoushii stalked them. The husband, no more name was needed, seemed to be ordering soldiers to their respective posts. No, not their usual posts, judging by their scent. A new post. One that they didn't want to do, but saw the necessity. Interesting. A growing suspicion grew in his mind. After seeing the Husband off, Ryoushii jumped into a room. The manor house had gates all around it. He needed to get by the gates without being seen or scried. Hopeing that the spirit agreed with him, he stripped down.
The spirit complied and Ryoushii changed. Not a fast change. But a slow, painstakingly slow change. Two minutes later, the tall shade was no more, but a large Gray wolf. Large. About shoulder high to a human. A long scar, faded almost the the point of invisibility, ran from his eye to his chin. A battle scar, long ago. After tucking or dragging his clothes in a cabinet, he bolted outside. Running felt great. It loosened muscles and caused the brain to relax. And think. Ryoushii didn't really want to be here, but in the end, he complied. Anything to make his name known. The woods surrounding him were a blur. Greens and browns and blacks made it difficult to discern where he was. The forest ground was damp and smelled of dew. No signs of animal life though. Strange, they could be hiding something in there.
Upon reaching his target, Ryoushii slowed to a halt. The gate was iron. Four.....five.....no, alot more then that. Ryoushii guessed at least ten guards were stationed their. He loped over to another. Guards at this gate. Nobody went in or out. He ran to another, but witnessed the same thing. Locked. Bared. They were locked in. That many soldiers couldn't be a norm. Only two or three would be necessary. The wolf suddenly sank to the ground. A merry couple were singing, coming to the gate. The captain stationed there spoke up. "You there, go back, we have orders that no one must go in or out" the couple traded amused looks and returned to the manor house. Something was definitely out of place. This was supposed to be a party, not a castle. But, the gates were bared. Somebody knew they were coming.
Quickly, he ran back to the gate. The forest now seemed dark and forebodineg, if Ryoushii knew fear. Which he did. He needed to find somebody. They knew they were coming. Renn, Nayeli, anybody. He needed to tell them. They knew they were coming. Running as fast as he can, he slipped into the room. Muttering to himself, he changed into a man. All the time, one thought echoed through his mind. They knew they were coming. He needed to tell Renn. He tried to contact Nayeli, but he was too weak. He was never really good at magic. He needed to tell Renn. Quickly dressing, he smashed the door down and ran. Close to the ballroom, a light shone though the door. Everybody stared transfixed. It didn't matter to him. They knew they were coming.

I was appalled. All these unbelievers and nobody recognized me. Sure, they looked at The Spider, but never at me. Heathens. All of them. I burned inwardly, desiring to kill everyone of them. They are the filth of the world, not caring for the sufferings of man, idolizing the dragon riders, and didn't care for the Children of the Sun. Oh, their presence was noticed. Nobleman Jacup by the wall on the left, knew who I was. He donated large sums of money to me. But no greetings, no acknowledgment for the Great Master. I seethed But on the outside, I was calm and collected. My robe attracted a few glances. Well more then a few. They've never seen me before, the nerve. but When Renn assigned partners, i was sided with Euryale Gorgophone. I asked her if she wanted to dance, but at first she didn't answer me. Then she complied. As we waltzed on the dance floor, Renn's words rang in my ear. "That… is Euryale Gorgophone, recently appointed elven ambassador and daughter of Councillor Cælestis Gorgophone. She shall be the lure." I needed to do something, fast. Make her obvious. Attract attention. How in the world am I going to do that while still engaging in a talk with other people? Quickly, I did the only thing I knew what to do. We danced.
Suddenly, both of us were lifted up. A platform of light hovered above us. Pillars of smoke stood at the four corners. The pedistal we stood on was coated in a colorful range of colors, but mostly yellow and gold. We danced on that platform. Golden light from the walls caused the room to glow. The jewels made an eerie light. the marble flooring lit the ground in a pale, white light. As we danced, silence overtook the crowd Now, a burning sun floated into the room. Crowns of fire fell onto our heads as we finished. I shouted in the loudest voice I could muster. "I propose a toast. Too my future wife, Euryale Gorgophone." This was out of hand. I should never have done this. But it worked, everybody in the room could hear me. I silently payed for my soul. To marry when I am a priest was unheard of. The platform sunk into the ground. We stepped off and walked off. The sun faded into black. The platform staid. Here was my chance to make lemonade out of lemons.
"Here me, Oh misguided children. I call you to follow me. All this finery is fraught. Gold will tarnish. Jewels will lose their sparkles. But, your fame and devotion will live on in infamy. Follow me. Devote your life to the Sun and those who serve it. Even though this land has been wracked by evil men, even though a plauge has struck this land, have hope. A new day will come, a day of peace, a day when enemies will eat together. A holy day. A sacred day. It will some when the sun rises!!!!!!!!!" Now, the sun brightened to a brilliant yellow. People shielded their eyes. "Follow me!!!! For the Order of the Sun!!!!! The Snake and The Spider joined in. People who believed in me, the servants who stopped working to witness this event, shouted with us. For the Order of the Sun" A impressed silence followed. Whether by my proclamation or marriage announcement, they all were looking at me. At us. Hopefully, I didn't steal the spot light.
All this, of course, was an illusion. And a very hard one at that. Sweat dripped from my brow and my body was wracked by shivers. I am pretty skilled at this, but even I, the Great Master, can be overwhelmed. The Spider supported me with his arms. Thank the Sun for that boy. Euryale Gorgophone looked ready to faint. She grunted when I proclaimed her my wife, and stared incomprehensibly when I spoke. I prayed for her soul. She would need it to finish this day. We toasted, everybody else a bit hesitantly, but then life ensued.
Feeling the need, to find out about events, I contacted The Snake via mind. He had a modest ability in magic, but his true talent shone through spying and piecing rumors together to make a tapestry of truth.
"Yea, Great Master" "Find anything out about this place. Other then the heathens." He had a habit of telling me exactly who didn't believe in us. "Yes, everybody seems a bit shaken, because of you display. Other then that, people seem to be leaving at odd times. That shade, both of them really, a captain, and a woman. Master, was that really you up there? "No, my son, it is but a illusion, a sleight of the eye, tricking even the most brilliant people" Well, not really, but it was still impressive. "Right, all of the gates are locked and certain doors are also boarded up. Soldiers are nervous and fumbling their weapons. This is even before the event." Interesting. I needed to catch my breath. The Snake was an interesting man. I found him spying on me for the empire. He repented and he is working for me now. However, he always has this respect for the empire. Unholy.
After my magic show, things were chaotic. People were abuzz, talking about this and that topic. Magic, Shu'itan, empire, the place was in a uproar. Soldiers were filing in and out again. People were going at odd times. Walking, or rather limping towards a knot of people I stopped and engaged in conversation with them. This was necessary to clear my head. The Snakes message was interesting. The doors and gates were closed. Much like heaven itself. Why.
Looking at the people talking, I saw that a nobleman appeared quite nervous. His bald head glistend with sweat. He dry washed his hands everyonce in a while and looked up. When somebody talked to him, he started, and turned red. Interesting. A crack where I could seep through. Quickly thinking, I engaged him in a conversation.
"My dear man, have you ever stared at this roof. It shelters from the rains and hails that plunder these lands. Look, my child, at the roof. It takes the beating for you, being hammered while you sleep in luxury . Look, thank it, meditate on what this means" People definitely started to notice. Even people I knew looked at me like I was a bonkers. Well, could be, but I was on a roll. Feet spread out, arms raised, I was shouting now, my voice bouncing off the walls. This was all null, if the man didn't crack. He looked like he was.
"You ignore the hail and rain like it never existed. You sit here, in luxury, while the roof takes the beating. You also ignore, my child, the evil and beats itself against the world, while others take the fall. Repent, oh misguided child. Join us! The Children of the Sun, as we strive to fight evil and restore the land to peace. Then the sun will rise on this land. PEACE!" I staggered back, like the divine revelation was too much. But I needed to think. The man looked quite nervously at the wall, up above, where a picture was. Nothing spectacular. Just a black night with a man standing heroically. Gold trim and gems scattered around the frame added the sense of glory. Though the whole house was. The picture moved slightly, maybe because of the the wind. Indoors. Interesting. They may be spying on us. Though many houses have these. He was going contacted Euryale Gorgophone, but he had a better idea. He walked up to her, kissed her, and proposed another toast. "To my two things I care for, my future wife and the Suncloacks"

& I WAKE UP EVERY EVENING WITH A BIG SMILE ON MY FACE ( and it never seems out of place ) If looks could kill, Murtagh's venomous glare would kill Kyou Kanzaki. Rage was building up in him, but the sound of Naylei's voice was beginning to calm him down. Kyou ignored Nayeli completely with a wave of her hand while giving small giggles. Murtagh glowered at the woman who had insulted Arwen once more. He then faced Nayeli who told him to calm down and stop drinking. The dark haired boy gave a grunt, looking annoyed and cold once more. He watched the dark haired woman laugh and walk away from him, skipping towards another man. He scoffed at this and glared darkly at her figure. The female had gone over to Xan and was flirting with him. He turned back to Nayeli who told him about the funny meeting she had when she had first met Arwen. He looked amused. He dryly then said,
Sounds like Arwen. Picking fights is just one of her talents.
He crossed his arms, looking at the crowd. He was observing the place and it would be helpful if he knew the layout of the whole place. He hated things like this. He wondered even why he signed up in the first place. Hell, he didn't even remember signing up for this at all! He had a feeling that Arwen had done something sneaky to get him into this. Otherwise, how else would she of known that night he had something to do? (at this moment, Arwen sneezed in the castle) He let his hearing travel back towards the group, his face now looking at them. He had an emotionless face on and he watched them with cold grey eyes. They were saying about partners and Murtagh was beginning to dislike that idea. He hated being around people. He liked being alone more. Doing things solo were much better than having baggage around you. Though if he was partnered with Nayeli...it would be a completely different story. His head then turned to see Kyou flirting with some other man and then turned his head again to see Nayeli saying something to Kuran. He snarled angrily once hearing the shade enter into his mind. He had strong barriers around his mind and to know that someone was strong enough to get past a few angered him. He then growled back to the shade, I won't be needing any of your help. Don't talk to me in my mind, shade! He shut his mind to the shade, creating even more barriers to ward off the shade before looking at Nayeli with a look of dislike on his face. Don't you hate it when people speak to you in your mind when you don't want them to? he tried to make a conversation go as he approached her. They were close together and Murtagh gave her a small crooked smile before adding, Usually I would hate to dance with anyone...but I'll make an exception tonight. He took her hand gently, leading her towards the dance floor. He had been trained to dance but he hated the whole thing. Arwen was a rather horrid dancer and so it was rather difficult to even get her to dance so that he would improve his dancing skills. He took her gently by the waist as he drew her close to him. She felt tiny in his arms and when he looked down at her, he gave her a small grin while dancing with her slowly. Meanwhile, Kyou was still near Xanathiel and was trying to flirt her way towards him. He, Xan, was clearly not amused. He told her, "No, I wouldn't HAPPEN to be called anything, madam." He wasn't fooled by her sickly-sweet attitude in the least. "And if you call me Xan again, I will flay the flesh from your bones before you can begin to think of a counterspell. My name is Xanathiel, and if you absolutely MUST address me by my name, do it thusly. I'd rather not have to work with you, but the situation deems it necessary. Now, if you'd be so kind as to save the deceit for the ones on which it will work. Thank you." The female stared at him for a moment, unable to say anything. Her face turned dark as she gritted her teeth together. Clearly, nobody was quite the gentlemen tonight. Her chocolate brown eyes narrowed dangerously as she conjured up a fake and sweet smile. Alright then, Sir Xanathiel. I'm not going to even bother to waste my time around you. Call me if you need me, darling. She looked at him with slight annoyance and disgust before flouncing away with a beat in her skip. Her dark hair trailed after her while she approached a bunch of men talking. All smiles, she greeted them with a little curtsy before introducing herself. Ah, gentlemen. How are you this evening? I'm Kyou by the way. It's a pleasure to meet you all. They looked at her with smiles while she took one man by the arm and took a glass of champagne in her other hand. It was clear that half of them thought she was some sort of whore, but Kyou didn't care. Rather, she decided it was best to her advantage. This way, they would spill their information easier. One of the men's hands were now slithering near her waist and drawing her close. Another man was touching her bottom, which she gave a little squeal a giggle. She then told them in a playful tone. Oh, you two! Stop it~! she gave another giggle and pecked one on the cheek. She took one by the hand and asked him, Soooo, what cha doing here tonight? Looking for women like me to satisfy that little dirty craving you have? she teased him, her hand on his cheek. He was smiling like an idiot and was mumbling something about his friends just going there under orders. She rose a brow. Well, this man clearly was useless. She pushed him off of her and gave him a smile before saying, Well, it was nice meeting you. I seem to be needed elsewhere. With that, she took off with a skip towards another group. The men looked utterly confused and one tried to chase her. She stopped and looked at him with the same sweet look before looking deadly icy. She gripped his arm with sudden strength as she kissed him hard on the lips and letting him go with a small thrust. She gave him a small wave with her fingers, signaling a small bye. A waiter passed by and she tapped the other girl on the shoulder. The waitress looked at her with a confused look before Kyou glared at her and told her to hand over the glasses. With a swift and hidden motion, she poured a few drops of sleeping potion into all of the glasses and directed the waitress towards the group of men. The poor waitress then walked over and handed them all a drink telling them it was from Kyou. They looked at her with a look of yearning on their faces. Kyou gave a fake giggle and held her own glass up and drank it with a gulp. They did the same. Smirking to herself, she turned away and disappeared into the crowd. Spotting an older man, she then made her way towards him. He looked pretty rich with all of those rings around those chubby fingers of his. She wrinkled her nose in distaste before faking a pretty smile to him. She then asked, Good evening, good sir! How do you fair tonight? her voice was like a soft whisper while she leaned in closer towards him. He gave her a lecherous grin before saying something along the lines of work and 'you're a very pretty girl'. Work, huh? Looked like she had got something. Kyou slid closer towards him as she flashed him another pretty smile. She let her curvy body touch his fat slightly, watching him give a small chuckle and letting his hand go to her bottom, giving it a squeeze. Kyou made sure that she let her hands do the magical work by letting a finger trail down his massive arm. Dear sir, would you care to tell me a little bit more about yourself?[/blockquote][/blockquote] WORDS,, 1401 TAGGED,, op3 PPL OUTFIT,, CLICK MUSIC,, BAD ROMANCE- Lady Ga Ga NOTES,, ugh, horrid post. Despite the complaints I expected to bubble up from the less-than-impressive group before me, a surprising number of them immediately made contact with their assigned partners and set out on their tasks. The only immediate issue that arose was Murtagh reacting vehemently when Schrren contacted him, apparently, due to the glare he shot him and then immediately fleeing into the bosom of his girlfriend, Nayeli. Murtagh had been spoiled and pampered his entire life, and it showed, especially in his total disregard for the chain of command. Besides that, he wasn’t any good with people. I made a mental note not to rely on him heavily, if at all, during the proceedings of the ambush. There was little room for immaturity and egomania on this mission. After that little incident, only Nayeli and Schrren remained, probably wanting to voice complaints.
“Milady, Osiris can only do so much… He is barely big enough to fly me, much less anything heavier. He only came tonight if he was needed for fighting, nothing more.” Her eyes, laughing and mischievous mere moments ago, had grown hard and listless. I was more than familiar with the tough girl act, and I did not shy away from it. However, Osiris’s small size did give me pause. I would have to rethink our escape options, then. “Then you must forgive me,” I said frankly. “I was unaware. Very well, he shall only be of use for the fighting, although he may be necessary for carrying wounded.” Since I knew the dragon would likely have a thing or two to say about that, I quickly added, “Kyemen Straethir made the value of our lives perfectly clear in negotiations. He is Varden, but I obey only him. You may tell Osiris this.” “Renn, I must apologize,” came Schrren’s voice, sounding miffed from Murtagh’s rude repulse. “I need not mean to, er… offend. But I must say, do not invoke those already forgotten. Sometimes, not even I can control all that are within me.” Ah, now he knew I was no scatterbrained fishwife. I had yet to gain any of his respect, however. This was only amplified when he suddenly hugged me, causing me to stiffen and resist the urge to snatch my katana. Only a husband could touch me in such a manner. “Once again, I’m sorry. I hope we can continue the night with no... unpleasantries?” He beamed like a fool at his made-up word. Realizing that I would have to comply with the Shade’s frivolity for now, the only retort I gave him was a wary gaze. “Of course, Schrren. We are, after all, civilized individuals… while we are being watched.”
After that, I was thankfully left alone. However, despite the fact that I needed to be on the lookout for the actual ambush, I found myself worrying about my team more. Nayeli and Murtagh were dancing, and would probably remain together for the entire night, while Kanzaki was enjoying whoring herself out a little too much to various men. Two of the Shades, Xanathiel and Ryoushii, were doing their jobs properly- Xanathiel was sticking a casual distance from Kanzaki while surveying the room, and Ryoushii had disappeared on a tracking quest. Gorgophone and the disturbing elf priest, Shu’itan, had settled in near the smorgasbord. Gorgophone had revealed her pointed ears, causing some of the partygoers to engage in conversation with the flame-haired elf. However, my attention was drawn to Schrren, who was entirely not himself- he was embracing and kissing another man, a thoroughly unremarkable blonde that was dancing the Shade away, outside of the Great Hall. Well, if Schrren thought sex more important than his duty, I believed I would accidentally overlook any injuries he might sustain on this operation.
And for a while, I almost thought none of my team members would be fool enough to cause much trouble until the attack began. I lost myself in considerations for our escape routes for almost a full thirty seconds until I was rudely interrupted by Shu’itan. My blood turned to ice when a platform appeared out of nowhere, raising both him and Euryale Gorgophone into the air, who looked like she was going to vomit. I stared up at them with bug eyes and a slightly open mouth as Shu’itan began to speak, proposing a toast to his ‘future wife’. I probably would have stood there like a complete idiot the entire time if I hadn’t felt the gentle prodding of Renata’s mind. I snapped out of my hypnotic daze and glared around. The live band had stopped playing their music, nobody was dancing, and everyone was listening to the religious fanatic.
‘Amazing, isn’t he?’ came my spy’s soft voice. ‘Not enough god-fearing folk these days.’ ‘He is, how you say… senile. His tree does not grow all the way to top branch.’ ‘Maybe so, but he makes things interesting.’ ‘Then humour me, little Renata,’ I hissed. ‘Kyemen Straethir expects results, and I cannot do so with such fools and maniacs.’ ‘What, including me? Oh, okay then. I guess I won’t tell you what Rowan found.’ ‘Flights of fancy now, Renata? Truly?’ ‘No… I just want to see what you’re like when you’re angry. But anyway. A carriage just pulled up, and it’s really rich and decorative-’ ‘So what makes it different from all other ones?’ ‘A creepy man came out, and Rowan says he smelled like rancid herbs and potions. He went into the kitchens, and when he came out a few minutes later, he didn’t smell like anything.’ Alarmed, I looked at the smorgasbord. ‘It happened two minutes ago, so that food’s fine.’ For the first time, I saw Renata waving at me while stuffing her face with appetizers. ‘But the dinner probably won’t be. Rowan says she lost the creeper’s trail after that. Also, you know how this estate belongs to Lord Tohmas?’ ‘Yes…’ ‘He isn’t here. The entire party’s being paid for and hosted by Baron Rivas.’ ‘But-’ ‘I know, right? That’s all for now. We should cease mental contact, it’ll attract attention. But before I forget, that platform’s just an illusion. It’s easy enough to see through.’
I furrowed my brow. Xhaiden Tohmas was a known fraternizer with the underworld and all things illegal, and as a result, he was almost as wealthy as Galbatorix himself. Kain Rivas, on the other hand, hardly had enough money to feed his own mouth. The Rivas family had fallen into dishonour after they had aided the Varden more than fifty years ago, going from powerful lords to lowbrow barons. Kain Rivas was the most pathetic of them all, more commoner than nobleman. However, it appeared I would have to worry about the poisoned supper first. I knew little of poisons, and with the varied races and physical and magical abilities of the op members, I didn’t know how any of them would react. It was likely lethal, as well, so I wasn’t about to take any chances. Inhaling deeply, I walked towards the person that had the strongest mindbreaking skills, Murtagh. On the way, I passed Gorgophone, who had fled from Shu’itan and was leaning against a wall, gasping for breath. She also looked somewhat furious.
“You’re crazy!” she snarled at the ancient elf. “Totally crazy! Wait till I get my nur- bodyguards; they’ll teach you a proper lesson!”
My step was lightened by a touch of amusement as I saw Gorgophone flee into the arms of one of her nursemaids, just as terrified as she was angry. Now that the religious show was over, things were relaxing again. The music started up once more, and many party-goers lulled into drinking and dancing as the tension seeped away. It wasn’t difficult to spot Murtagh, as people gave him an unusually large berth, especially now that he had Nayeli, another Rider, with him. The moment I saw them, I knew it was a very bad idea that they were on this mission together. They were completely smitten, ignoring all else as they spoke. Two budding lovers on a high-stakes operation only complicated things further. Allowing my annoyance to show, I approached the both of them.
“I am assuming you are both seeing to your duties?” I quipped, gaining their attention. Before either of them could speak, I continued, “Unless this is a very convincing act, you may bat your eyes at each other another time. You were both allowed here for something other than raging hormones, but I am not seeing it.” I stopped a respectable distance from the couple, gazing at them, resisting the urge to tsk at Nayeli’s black-eyed glare and Murtagh’s obvious fury. “However, you may prove yourselves yet. Now, I have received words that the banquet will be poisoned. Murtagh, you are to warn all other op members of this, and that they are not to take action. Dinner will not be for some time yet, and we will not risk our cover blown. We will…” ‘Lady Kuran?’ Ryoushii’s voice echoed in my head. “We will search for more danger in the meaning time. Excuse me.” I left the two alone, and opened my mind to the Shade only enough to make a telepathic link. ‘You may speak, Ryoushii.’ ‘I just wanted to say, there are Imperial soldiers everywhere.’ I quirked an eyebrow. ‘And what are they doing?’ ‘Guarding, some partying. All of the entrances are blocked.’ I swore under my breath, then muttered, ‘Well done, Ryoushii,’ and terminated the link.
The dancing went on for some time. It was during that time that I made Ryoushii’s claim certain- all of the entrances were indeed being held by Imperial soldiers, though I didn’t spot a higher ranking than captain. My father would have told me if there were going to be guards here, and I didn’t know why they would be patrolling a private estate in the first place. Kyemen Straethir’s intelligence source had obviously left a few pointers out. I was irritated at first, but then I remembered that there was no sense in bringing my emotions into it. Things were complicated now, but that only meant I had to be even more clear-headed. I left the Great Hall and made for a large hallway, seating myself on a bench. I needed peace and quiet if I was going to think this out properly. As I made myself comfortable, I noticed a very pleased Schrren standing a little ways from me, hair now dishevelled and skin streaked with sweat, the blonde as well. They embraced and kissed before the man took his leave of Schrren, heading down the lengthy hallway. Schrren lingered as though he meant to follow him, but then he noticed me. He looked surprised, and then he smirked and waved. My response was an unimpressed stare.
Mere moments later, however, I heard a flurry from the Great Hall, and rose to my feet just in time to avoid being mowed down by the masses as they migrated into the expansive dining chamber. I followed the crowd, seeing nearly all of my operation members among the mob. I allowed myself to be swept along the hallway and into the new room, which I peered around at in interest. It was similar in design as the rest of the manor, but largely consisted of a single long table that was piled high with enough food to make me feel ill. Most of the food was meat- roasted oxen and venison from Palancar Valley, sausages, imported giraffe’s neck, and boar’s tripe pudding from Ceunon, seafood from Teirm, fine Surdan wines, and Belatona’s very best cakes and pastries. Everything was drizzled high with anything ranging from melted cheese and chocolate to honey to wine, and the combined smell of food was overpowering.
I would never understand these Alagaësians and their constant need for more. I managed to find a seat near the front, where I was surrounded by more familiar foods like fish and caviar. As I settled myself in, I saw one of Gorgophone’s nursemaids rushing towards me, the red-haired one. Her face was white with panic.
“Have you seen Euryale?” she asked in her strangely rough accent. “No,” I told her. “Why?” “AGH!” she snarled, ignoring me and rounding on the dark-haired nurse. “She hasn’t seen her either! Where is she, Klotho?” “Madames et monsieurs,” announced a seductive male voice in a mock Gaulish accent. I briefly noted that the man speaking was the blonde one that Schrren had shared liaisons with, but I was too busy looking for Gorgophone. I spotted Shu’itan, but she was nowhere to be found. “I would like to proudly present your hosts- his lordship Baron Kain Rivas, and the lovely Doctor Malandra Ramakrishna.”
I craned my neck around to glare at the front end of the table. Kain Rivas was there, his brown hair neatly trimmed and an overly charming smile pasted on his face. I should have known he hadn’t done all this by himself. Beside him sat Malandra, clothed in nothing but a crimson pair of undergarments that hardly covered any part of that area that only a husband was supposed to see, and scarlet high heels. Besides those two articles, she wore nothing whatsoever besides ruby jewels adorning her upper body that she regularly played with seductively. The red stood out strongly against her pearly skin and entirely perfect features. Her raven hair was shorter now thanks to Kyemen Straethir’s sword, only to her chin, but she had eloquently styled it into a bob. My feelings of confusion were replaced by realization and disgust. Galbatorix’s favoured scientist was the only reason the Empire was even participating in the coalition, but Malandra had refused to be in any of the ops. It appeared she had changed her mind.
“Tenk you, Lucien,” she purred in her refined accent. After clicking her long, red-painted nails on the table, she leaned back in her chair and assumed a provocative posture, long legs crossed and breasts exposed. “I ‘ope you all enjoy the meal Kain and I have prepared. It is in celebration of this glorious trade embargo, oui? Eat as much as you please, my lords and ladies. You ‘ave earned it.”
Words;; 2369 Muse;; Alright, but the post was so LONG... Thoughts;; Good at the beginning, fun at the end, but I'm not happy with the middle. And yes, to those of you who have RPed with Mally before, I changed her accent from very refined English to very refined French. XD

I knew that I had to do something, I could not allow this woman, our leader, to volunteer Osiris for something he could not do. Sure, he could carry a few people a short distance, but it would have to be people who could not move, wounded, dead, or just limp. I listened to others, waiting for her to even notice what I had said about him unable to do certain things. She seemed to be ignoring me, but soon, Murtagh had come back over to my side and that girl had taken her own leave, which for me, was a good thing. She was rather annoying and getting on my last nerve, but I had told Murtagh about Arwen and me meeting and he seemed to find it very amusing. ”Sounds like Arwen. Picking fights is just one of her talents.” I had learned that about her myself and it was crazy funny. He did not seem to want to be here, but at least he was calm and that was the only thing that mattered. It was not good for someone to be worked up during a mission like this.
Then came the pairing and finally Renn seemed to realize what I had said about Osiris still being small. He would be able to fly me soon though, which was a good thing. I felt Osiris deep within my eyes and I looked at Renn, waiting to hear what she would say, my mind completely off of Murtagh for just this moment and only on the operation. ”Then you must forgive me,” Something I did not mind doing, this woman was our leader and she was atleast listening to this. ”I was unaware. Very well, he shall only be of use for the fighting, although he may be necessary for carrying wounded.” This I could understand and I nodded quickly. They wounded would be much easier for him, since they would be less likely to move. He seemed to agree. ”Sounds like a plan, he can do that and since he is large enough for attack, he could do anything you ask other then transporting a lot of people… I will have him search for a place to take all the wounded and then relay it back to me.”
I felt him leave my mind with that and I smiled slightly before I watched pictures flash through my mind, but then he was too far away, either that, or he was just too concerned about his new task. ”Kyemen Straethir made the value of our lives perfectly clear in negotiations. He is Varden, but I obey only him. You may tell Osiris this.” I knew about Kyemen Straethir, had seen him at the first big meeting, but at the time, I had not been a dragon rider, just a assassin. I then allowed myself to return to the job at hand, but also had to act like a guest in this party. He seemed to be slightly away from me, at least in his mind as I had been speaking to Renn. Something was wrong, but I did not know what, he seemed to be focused on more then his job, he was focused on something else and I wondered what it was, wondering if he would tell me. He finally looked back at me and I gave him a curious look. ”Don't you hate it when people speak to you in your mind when you don't want them to?” I knew what he meant, it was how I felt for the first few days of having Osiris, but then I did not mind and now I loved it. I gave a quick nod and then I felt someone touch my mind… It was Osiris, I knew it perfectly. ”Nayeli, there is a clearing deep in the woods about a mile away from the main gate… It is plenty big for me to land in with the wounded and it is also very hidden…” I looked at Murtagh again and smiled when he gave a crooked smile. ”Usually I would hate to dance with anyone...but I'll make an exception tonight.” I was happy he was making a exception tonight and it would get me close to the people and allow me to hear everything that was going on. People were standing in the middle of the dance floor talking about there trades and such. I reached out with my mind towards Renn, carefully, not to surprise her, since I knew that many dragon riders, young or not, could be stronger then intended. ”Malady… Osiris has found a clearing about a mile from the main gate in a patch of thick forest, plenty big for him to land in and take off in… If you would like, any our wounded can be taken there.” I then allowed my mind to go back into dancing with Murtagh… I had many questions for the young rider and I just wanted to know everything about him all of the sudden. I let him lead me, happy that living in a royal family gave me dancing experience. I was about to spea when Renn came to us and we stopped, wondering what she wanted and I looked at her calmly. ”I am assuming you are both seeing to your duties?” I nodded to her, my whole mind was running around everything that was going on and Osiris was looking through my eyes and even using his own skills to look into the building. I had looked through those eyes and it was crazy how I could actually see into things and he could too… It was blurry and he could only see bodies, but he knew which one was me. ”Unless this is a very convincing act, you may bat your eyes at each other another time. You were both allowed here for something other than raging hormones, but I am not seeing it.” I looked at her, honestly, I was wondering why we were both asked to be here. I knew we were both riders, Murtagh much stronger then myself. I looked at him for a moment and then located my own partner and then looked back at Renn for a moment. She knew something, but I was unsure what it was. ”However, you may prove yourselves yet. Now, I have received words that the banquet will be poisoned. Murtagh, you are to warn all other op members of this, and that they are not to take action. Dinner will not be for some time yet, and we will not risk our cover blown. We will…” I saw her own thoughts through her eyes, well, at least I noticed she was distracted. ”We will search for more danger in the meaning time. Excuse me.” I nodded and looked at Murtagh. ”Well, it seems we have work to do…” I felt Osiris in my mind and I opened my mind to him, but I felt him touching Murtagh’s mind also. I looked at my fellow rider and gave a smile. ”I think Osiris wishes to be a part of this.” I knew it was true and I started looking at everyone as we went on dancing. I motioned towards different groups, allowing my own ears to listen to conversations and then allowing him to reach into minds if he wished. I had a feeling it would be a while before we ate, so I kept listening in and I wondered why people spoke about illegal things in a party where many empire people were, but at the same time, it showed that there were too confident. ”Everyone!” I turned slightly from the dance, seeing a man taking the full attention of the whole crowd. ”Dinner is served in the dinning room.” I made sure I found my partner in the crowd and then I felt myself being pulled with the crowd. I was separated from Murtagh and I felt Osiris growl in my head. I knew it was because even he trusted the dragon rider, but I tried to think for myself. As I entered the dining hall, the food looked beautiful and I felt sick. Being a rider gave me something else that it did not give others… I smelt the food that was well made, but I also smelt something sick and dead. I knew better then to eat and soon I saw Murtagh, I tried to sit with him, but I was unable to. I noticed the leader of this party, the host and I set politely and held my well taught manners. I looked at each face, pointing out my team and then looking at Renn, who was seated close to the front. As I noticed the Doctor, Osiris touched my mind… ”Nayeli! There are problems… I have just gotten back to the grounds and there are guards from the Empire every!” Who had I just heard about this and as I looked towards the front I knew why. ”Connect Murtaghs mind with my own.” He did this and then I said the same for my partner. He told them what he had told me. ”Does Renn know?” I asked my partner and Murtagh… The doctor told us to eat and I just acted like I did. Shu’itan glanced at the wall. Being twelve hundred years old, he knew patience. The only way to sit through the elven government was to listen too their long, winded speeches. One either listened and was patient, slept, or went crazy during the sessions. The man he was speaking to obviously didn’t understand patience. He trembled slightly and wiped his brow when it grew wet, which was often. I engaged him in conversation and found him looking straight at a picture. I thought that people were looking through the picture, but I seem to be wrong. No matter, the man was intriguing as always. The Spider, the four armed elf, stood by me. He seemed not aware of the goings and coming of the crowd.
After my little outburst, people began to look at me quite closely. A few, apparently, wanted to talk to me. One lady, wearing the red dress, stated towards me. But, a thin, sneaky character approached first. The Snake was a slippery person, prone to weave in and out of conversations. I caught him in teirm trying to steal from me to feed his family. I would have killed him, but something in his manner caught my attention. The snake had an uncanny ability to find thing out. Anything, from murders to the price of gold to who lived in a house. He could weave together rumors and little snatches of conversation and find truth in them. He already warned me of the guards milling around, and he was quite satisfied about that. He did not, however, appear smug when he approached me.
“Grand Master, when is the dinner?” “My son, you know more about this place then I do, find it out. Why do you ask?” He swallowed and continued, “Well, I believe that everybody here is in danger. The food has been poisoned just a few minutes ago” I couldn’t understand why he was so upset. That was a momentous achievement. “How did you figure out?” “Well, I didn’t, that Rider fellow did. He was telling everybody (on our side) and I happened to hear him” There, that was it. He was sullen that somebody else told him. Well, no matter. At least I know now not the eat the food. Which was fine, a dump like this wouldn’t, couldn’t produce food that would be anywhere remote of being edible. Not that the place wasn’t bad. Gold was everywhere and the marble flooring shone with the light of every torch and lantern.
As I stood there, I saw Euryale exiting the room. She saw me and almost took my head off. Spirited, I would giver he that. “You’re crazy,” she growled, almost chewing the words out, “totally crazy! Wait till I get my nur-bodyguards. They’ll teach you a proper lesson” She was herded out the door and I thought little else about her. She was a silly creature, but usually had a good sense. My act, though, seemed to shake here enough to lose what little grip she had on herself. I hoped Renn approved of my methods. Well, doesn’t matter, if she approved or not. It did the job and elevated me up a few notches. When trying to grab people’s attention, always go for gross theatrics. Which worked pretty good in my experience
We milled about for a while, but the crowd became restless. I could almost hear the stomachs rumbling. They were hungry, as if talking drained a lot out of them. Finally, a man announced that supper would be served. The people drifted over to the tables. Most of them. I saw one shade, Ryoushii, I think, exit the room and leave. Peculiar. After reaching the table, I sat down about the in the middle. After trading glances with the other people on the team, I almost bowed my head to pray for everybody. But, a rude person interrupted me.
“Madames et monsieurs,” a handsome, almost pretty man spoke. His accent was quite unique. I really wanted to know where these accents were coming from. Accidents from birth? No, they seemed too finely spoken for that. I say Renn glance around and stopped at me. Shaking my head, I looked around. What were we missing? Yes, Euryale. She didn’t seem to be at the table. Well, maybe my little show scared her more then I thought. The man continued, “I would like to proudly resent your hosts, his lordship Baron Kain Rivas and the lovely Malandra Ramakrishna.” Peculiar, everybody I talked too mentioned the doctor, but not the Baron. In fact, I had no idea he even existed. Suddenly remembering what the Snake had told me, I muttered a spell over my plate. I released the magic slowly, so not to alert other people. I didn’t know the extent of the gift in other people, but I was pretty proficient in it. Maybe twelve hundred years I lived on this earth did something about it. I went over several spells, just in case. Poison doesn’t always need to be on the food. The doctor signaled that she would want to talk.
“Tenk you, Lucien. I ‘ope you all enjoy the meal Kain and I have prepared” They prepared it? They might have a connection with the poisoning, then. But, without proof, I didn’t worry about it. I did notice, however, that the doctor seemed to have no modesty at all. The heathen!! I almost said it out loud. “It is in celebration of this glorious trade embargo, oui? Eat as much as you please, my lords and ladies. You ‘ave earned it” The guests, needing no other signals, began to eat. There were many different kinds of foods and everybody ate them without hesitation. Being somewhat of a religious person, it wasn’t difficult for me just to have water. I didn’t arouse any suspicion. I did notice that some people on our side began eating too. Hopefully that young rider warned everybody. I really detested that man. The sun would never go down the day I kill him. It seemed that many others shared my hatred for them man. To pass the time, I sprung up a conversation with an elderly man sitting at my right.
“Well, quite good food, is it” “Well, yes. The Doctor can cook like no tomorrow. She is a sensation at parties. But you, I never seen you before. What do you do? Why are you here?” The man seemed harmless, not digging for information, but, to be safe, I lied. “Well, the Baron wanted me to supervise this embargo. Tell you what. You ask me a question and I will ask you one. This way, each of us gets a fair share. ” When he nodded, I asked a bit softly, “what are you doing here? What is your business?” The man didn’t hear me. Which was odd. The man seemed be jittery, but didn’t seem to notice. I tried again, abit louder. He jumped. “What, sorry. I didn’t hear you. I sell supplies to the doctor. Made a profit out of it” He paused and took a deep drink. Something wasn’t quite right about him, but I couldn’t put a finger on it. “well, my question. Hmmmm…….who is that lovely lady that you proposed too?”
“Just my friend, Euryale. I would love to point her out, but she is feeling sick at the moment. Alright, how long have you unknown about the couple” “Oh, for quite some time now. We go back……ten years maybe” He continued, but my mind wasn’t into it. His movements weren’t quite right. At first, I though that the poison was taking effect, but nobody else was acting like that. Another thing that triggered my mind was the fact of his clothing. They weren’t the sort to wear at a party. Then it struck me. I had a follower, named Smith, who was an explosive maker. He acted just like the old man here. The jitteriness came from being too close to the explosion when it went off. After being in many, his ears didn’t really work right. His hearing, especially, became really bad. Realizing that he had stopped talking, I grabbed this chance to question him. But how?
“Did you here about the accident at that summit meeting? I heard that a group of soldiers came by and started killing people.” “No, it was an explosion” “Really, how would anybody short of the King get a hold of the ingredients. Surely nobody could purchase such a thing?” “Well, we are off the agreement, but I will answer your question. I heard that they are quite easy to make. A few pinches of this, a little spell, and boom, there you have it. Now, who are you? Not what you do, but what is your name?” “Shu’itan, Grand Master of the Sun. Now, answer me this question. If you lie to me, I will show you why I am the Grand Master. It wasn’t a vote, mind you. Now, what do you do?” I glared at him. He gulped and refused to look me in they eye. Reaching out with my mind, I overrode his and entered his brain. Images flashed though my mind. His making explosives. Selling them to an unknown buyer. The meeting point, behind the house. Exiting his mind, I caused him to sleep.
“Oh, I guess he had too much drink. Sadly, this is the result of drinking too much.” I announced, sounding bored. People ignored me, but I noted that many stopped drinking. I contacted Renn, telling her of the explosive maker and the meeting point. Though, I warned her that I may be mistaken. The images were a bit fuzzy. Maybe the wine did it. Ending the conversation, I continued to drink, watching the crowd.

*Ava was distracted.
It was only natural, really, but it annoyed her all the same. She needed to keep her mind fully on the operation, but she didn't. It instead worked its way over to the topic of Remy while she was mostly being a sentry, one of the gals watching for people trying to get information from the group, trying to identify who all was with the little shindig but not with the Empire. That wasn't too hard really, but her job was really to only mess with the ones close because if she had to deal with every little hit, she would just have to round up the entire room.
That was not on her list of fun things to do on an evening.
She knew what she really wanted to do right now, she wanted to find the silly man she had set her mind to catching and just finally go about it. The little botch up in Aberon would not set her back, and she would stick to that goal. She wasn't even sure that she botched that mission in regards to Remy, but it had definitely made him... nervous? Embarrassed? She isn't sure, but doing that, fixing the hole, was much more interesting than doing this.
This would be much more interesting if I didn't have to deal with these people...
That is totally true, too. First off, there were Shades. Two of them. Really? There were four or five in the little group that Kyemen formed, and each of them set her teeth on edge. It isn't like these Shades were... serious. She wouldn't count them dangerous, except that they were Shades, which makes them dangerous by definition, but these were not serious. One was famous for the widespread sexual assault on all sorts of servants and wayward humans, and one seemed just to be a societal outcast that liked the form of a wolf. A nympho and a puppy. Nice. At least they got the easy-going ones. She would be more worried for life and limb with that Shade masquerading as a merchant Clarus or that demon of a woman Pele. Then again, she would see the mission as much more stable. Who knows which set would be better.
Then there were the clashing personalities. The utterly boring clashing personalities. Murtagh was especially disappointing in this case. He was supposed to be this great, legendary thing and yet he fails. He seems, at least in Ava's perspective, to be a whiny little bitch of a dragon rider so taken with some silly woman that she had heard about from her brother that he was just being an idiot and falling into the trap of the conniving whore of a woman that seemed to be trying to play everyone in the room. Ava had to be partnered with her, too, sadly. At least she hasn't tried anything against Ava yet, or Ava would have to slap her. But she was trying to make some silly bond and take control of Renn, who seemed to be the only person Ava would trust in this room, through the use of their common tongue, tried to sidle up to Xanathiel and play with him, and then decided to prance off and apply her "art" and sex a whole bunch of men for information, but only after riling up Murtagh and Nayeli.
Then there is Nayeli, the other dragon rider in the group. She seemed calm, at least, which is more than Ava could say about the rest of the boring conflicting idiots. However, that being said, she was still none to bright. She seemed to only really care about what was going on with Osiris and Murtagh, which would probably hurt us somewhere down the line.
Eurayle was just odd.... Ava didn't really care about her. She was well protected and could always run if nothing else. Renn was the leader, and proved herself. She didn't order things unnecessarily and seemed to have a good grasp on the situation. Ava trusted her as much as anyone who had lead her before, but did not know her well enough to truly trust her.
Ava's thoughts once again wander, this time to what had happened to her recently as she glides over to another spot to watch those assembled as they mingle and dance. She feels the light bruises that are still healing on her legs and sighs. That nympho Shade reminded her of those slavers, and right now she wanted to just disappear and hide for a little bit. It was the only chink in her confident armor, but it was a very vital one that was missing. It hit her hard every time she thought of those stupid slavers pounding away. And the blood...
She shivers and braces herself. Now was not the time to lose it. There was plenty of time for that later. As she refocuses herself, she sees a man, a very fit man in formal attire, watching her group. What gave him away were his eyes, and his movements. His eyes were flickering from Renn to Kyou to Murtagh to Nayeli to Ava and back. Very quickly, as if he were trying to watch them. This, combined with the way his body was swaying in the direction that the crowd generally had that comes with active observation, cause Ava to decide that she needed to move on him.
She walks quickly to the man, smoothly slipping through the crowd as if she was a ghost, and she takes the man's hand and pulls him into a dance. He resists for a moment, acting surprised and looking a little nervous, but regains his composure and follows her to dance.
Their dance to the tune was simple, and they didn't really speak a word as they danced in circles with the crowd, Ava gently maneuvering them out to the edges of the crowd. They passed an entryway as they get to the outermost ring, and Ava stops their dance and pulls him behind it, seemingly to continue their "dance" elsewhere, but really to push him up against the wall. Which, with her elven strength, she does without a problem. He struggles a bit, but she pushes up against him and whispers to him.*
Be quiet, and stop. I know what you are, and if you call out you will die right here...
*The man briefly considers the possiblilty, but Ava puts more pressure on him and he winces before nodding. She grins at him and speaks to him nicely now.*
Good boy. Now, we need to have a little discussion on why you were watching my friends and I...
*At that point, a man comes out and presents the hosts. The man seems very pretty and, to Ava's amusement, a bit disheveled from his liaisons earlier. However, the shock was still to come as he announced the Baron, who we knew was throwiong the party, along with Ramakrishna, the woman who had fairly well lead the main summit for the Empire.
She was, of course, nearly naked now, and was making a speech about the food. Ava looks back to the man, and then smiles softly at him.*
Your going to be joining me at the table, dear...
*She drags him, almost literally, to the table and seats him next to her. The foods were varied and looked delicious, but most of the people here, nobles and spies alike, seemed to either pick at their food or pretend to eat. Some did so better than others. She turns to the spy beside her and smirks, holding up a fork of delicious looking beef, a delicacy, and winks.*
Oh, dear, you MUST try this beef. It is excellent!
*The man panics a little bit, but the stare Ava gives him makes him open his mouth. Ava sticks the little bit of food and fork into his mouth and then watches him as he chews slowly and swallows, making sure he wouldn't fake swallow and then spit it out later. She would see the affect of the poison on the food soon enough, and grins brightly at the man who now looks faintly sick, like a man now condemned to hell for an action only he knew that he commited before beginning to pretend to eat herself, waiting for the ploy that must be soon to come.*
