You had to be kidding me!!! My father had to tell someone to watch me, to take care of me? Was I a child??? I was old enough to take care of myself, I was a trained assassin and I was a dragon rider, yet my father told me that I had to be protected and watched, for some crazy reason. I did not understand honestly. It was probably just another man who thought I was pretty and wanted me to get in bed with him. ”I’m sure not every man in this empire wants you in bed.”
I rolled my eyes at Osiris as I looked above me. I had actually ridden him during the morning, but he was still not strong enough to take me very far, so I had had Pylar take the horses towards our destination. I knew that he was probably just as tired as me, but I had to make it to the place we were going. I had been told to head to a clearing in the Spine and that I would be joined by someone else… I had traveled past the Toark river before landing Osiris at Woadark Lake and getting on the war horse my father had brought me. I already had a mountain horse from my father as one of the first horses I got. Pylar was riding him and the War horse was in perfect shape for making it up the mountain trails. I still had no idea who I was meeting up with, but at least I was not alone right now. I could not help but think about the other night. That night I had with Murtagh… It was so nice to spend time with him, though Osiris was boiling mad that I had left the protection of the bar and went down a alleyway and nearly got myself into trouble. ”Once I see Murtagh, I am going to thank him for saving you, but that will be the first and last unless he does something I really like.” I rolled my eyes and glanced over at Pylar for a moment, who was smiling. He knew I was talking to Osiris when I was quiet for so long. ”Anything worth telling?” I just shrugged slightly and kicked the horse a little hard as we got to a steep part of the Spine. I was tired of riding and I knew that Osiris was possible tired of flying, but as I thought about it some more and noticed he was laughing at me slightly. I was slightly confused, but when I saw the image of the clearing and cursed at him under my breath. Pylar was confused and I glanced back over at him. ”Osiris is already at the clearing.” He laughed for a bit and then went silent again. I knew the clearing would be over this ridge and half way up the next. I hated the travel, but we would get there before night fall. Some reason I tried to think up everything before I got there. I made sure my whole body was emotionless as we rode, wondering if I would come across those who would be joining us. I would be highly pissed if that bodyguard thing showed up also tonight. I would rather be with someone I was working with, then someone who was protecting me. Osiris would be protective enough and also Pylar who saw me as a young girl just learning things. He always laughed at me when I tried to argue with him, saying that I was still learning. He had taught me a whole lot about the ancient language, which I was happy he had. I looked to the ground for a moment and smiled, knowing that Pylar was here and he was teaching me so much, he would know when to stop me. ”Stenr, rïsa!” The stone rose up into my hand and I smiled. Pylar looked over at me and then back forward again, smiling. I was getting stronger each time I did this and soon, he would be having me do water soon too and then having them both together. I could not wait! I knew my energy draining little but little, but I had to keep doing this as much as I could, I had to make sure I could with stand anything. ”Weather you like it or not, stop… You will use all your energy and I have yet to teach you how to pull energy from your sword’s stones.” He had been telling me that he would teach me soon, but I knew and he knew for sure that I was not ready. I nodded, letting the stone land in my hand and tucking it into my saddle bag before I continued on up the Spine’s trail. I glanced around for a mere moment, looking back behind use as I noticed that we were high enough that I could see past the tree tops and see the top of Woadark Lake. I smiled… It was a beautiful sight, but I still knew I had to keep my emotions in order and I let my smile fade from my face and looked ahead. ”You are nearly to the clearing,” I knew he was joking, we had to go down into the saddle of the ridge and then back up to the clearing half way up the next mountain side. But at least I was not walking and he had a chance to rest before he flew again tonight to go hunting. I loved my Brother, but he really did get annoying and sometimes, I wanted to hurt him really, really badly. I rolled my eyes slightly and felt the wind pick up, my eyes looking up into the sky, seeing small rain clouds to the west. This was not what we needed right now, we needed clear skies and perfect weather for whatever this mission was for. I was told that the person I was meeting would have the mission for me, that I just had to met him here. I hated waiting for things, I was not a patient person when it came to meeting people. I let out a sigh when we made it to the clearing, Osiris was snoozing on the other side of the clearing and he lifted his lazy head before he put it back down to rest some more. I narrowed my eyes and quickly dismounting, handing the riens to Pylar who untacked the horses and started to get the camp ready. I had brought my own things for this little outing and I watched as he worked, singing in the ancient language, causing branches to dry out and then started a fire with ease. He made sure his tent was well done and even spoke more words in the ancient language, something I had no idea he was saying. He saw my curiosity. ”Just a ward to allow me to sleep during the night, it blocks out all sound unless my name is called.” I nodded, but I heard Osiris chuckle. I looked at him. ”He is just saying that… He wanted me to tell you that it was so others outside of his tent could not listen either… He is going to be talking to some of the Varden tonight, if he can get in touch with any of them.” I nodded and began to pitch my tent up, allowing him to put the same ward around my tent so I had some protection. I looked at him for a moment as he took in another breath and then set back beside the fire. I was confused as to why he was sitting down but as I thought about it, I knew why. He had used a lot of energy getting the fire started and also putting wards on the tents… He had to rest some before he did much more. I turned slightly, hearing someone coming from the forest. I relaxed though, knowing that if I was tense it would show all of my moves before I could think about them, being relaxed hid everything about me. Osiris was the same, sitting still and even his wings were tucked into his side in order to hide all of his movement. cause this is the real thing , love changes everything * ( THIS IS THE NIGHT WHEN EVERY HEART'S EXPLODING! ) Today was like everyday when it came down to Arwen. It was near the afternoon and a certain dark haired boy was feeling very tired. Why he had decided to go on this...'adventure' he didn't quite understand himself. That night with Nayeli was almost..life changing. He felt quite different when he had come home that night to meet the very cheerful face of Arwen. In fact, Arwen was still teasing him about what had happened. Maybe it was better off not telling her at all. Afterall, keeping secrets from Arwen wasn't all too hard. Right? Besides, it was harmless information. His grey eyes flickered to the girl who was riding beside him, looking around the forest. She suddenly stopped and her attention turned to towards a part of the forest, a look of pain came into her eyes. His brows furrowed slightly as he nudged his horse towards hers.
Hey, Arwen. What's the matter?
The girl looked at him with a look of slight pain in her eyes before shaking it off with a fake bright smile. It's nothing. He frowned and rose a brow at her. She avoided his look as she got off her horse. He followed in her lead as he watched her closely. He knew she would feel the pressure. Of course, she did. She whipped around to see him smirking and staring at her. With an exasperated sigh, she exclaimed, It's just that my home used to be over there! That's all. the look of pain came back into her eyes. Murtagh gave a sigh before giving her a pat on her shoulder. She just grabbed him and hugged him tightly, burying her face into his chest. Murtagh didn't fight back for he just patted her soft black hair. Maybe the reason she wanted to go out today was to visit her old hometown? Or village? She wasn't crying, but she didn't look right today.
Maybe we should go back...
No! We took forever to come out here! Besides, you just want to go back so you can find an excuse to see Nayeli again! Arwen looked up and grinned at him. He rolled his eyes, prying her off him gently. Arwen sure changed her emotions quick. He even wondered how she got over that guy. Now, Arwen seemed interested in something else. Taking the riens of his horse, he asked in a tired voice,
Where are we going, Arwen?
Um...I don't know?
He stared at her.
Seriously?
Arwen turned around and gave a sheepish smile. He glared at her. He should of known. Her, being so emotional. Of course, she wasn't going anywhere. A vein became to pop out of his head as he grabbed her arm angrily and shook her. She winced. When he was annoyed at her, he always grabbed her upper arm like that and she was beginning to get bruises from him. She flashed him an apologetic smile before beginning to say, Sorry, Murtagh! You know me! I was thinking of the Spine and then about Eragon again...I really miss him. Her lower lip trembled and he rolled his eyes. Leave it to Arwen and dramatics. Letting go of her arm, he embraced her into a hug again, knowing that she would probably cling on to him again. It was usual. The funny thing was that Murtagh was so used to it now. In a very dry tone, he added,
Don't get snot on my clothes again. It's disgusting.
I-I'm not crying! Not gonna get snot on your stupid clothes.
You did it the last time. Besides, you're shaking.
...Shut up.
Murtagh gave a chuckle before pushing her away from him, using his hand to lift her chin up. Her eyes were slightly wet from crying. He wiped them away with his fingers. The girl sniffled and looked at his shirt. With a weak smile, she managed to say. I didn't get snot on your shirt this time. He gave a small laugh before kissing the top of her head. She hugged him again, basically pouncing on him. The girl then looked behind him and blinked.
Ah...Nayeli?
Arwen let him go and he turned around to see a figure of the woman that he loved he had been thinking about earlier. Arwen then grabbed the reins of her horse and ran towards the direction of her friend. With a smile, she shouted, Hey, Nayeli! I brought your boyfriend over! Thought you might of needed some company. She smirked, an amused look came over her face. With her tears dried, she looked back to normal. Murtagh rolled his eyes as he slowly made his way towards Arwen and stopped. A light cool smile landed on his face as he looked over at Nayeli. His voice turned cool instead of the voice he usually used with Arwen.
Nayeli. How are you today?
Yes. This was quite a usual day for the pair.

Guard a noble. Take a sword or arrow for her. If the noble had been male, Convel would have blown the mission off. What man couldn't handle a sword, or at least a dagger? Even if said noble woman was an assassin. For some God-awful reason, the King here employed several female assassins. Maybe they were useful in seducing their targets, then stabbing them in bed. Hair clubbed back, clean kilt and shirt, sword and dirk. No targe, because that would be redundant. He was the shield. He had watched as Nayeli, the woman he was to protect, entered along with an companion. Convel watched as she greeted her dragon. Thoughts of getting her into bed never entered his mind. Instead, he ran through several attack scenarios in his head. Most of them ended with him dying, in which case he need not care anymore. Several ended with capture, torture, then eventual death.
Convel groaned. Murtagh. He'd keep pace with them, but under no circumstances would he talk to Murtagh. He touched the mind of the dragon, then spoke. I am to be Nayeli's guardian for this trip. I am in the trees, directly behind the elf's tent. Do not be alarmed, I plan on taking a sword through the gut or an arrow through the throat for her, if I need to. The hunting kilt and dark green shirt blended in with the surroundings, letting the Alban work his non-magical magic, that of the art of disappearance with only the world, and him. The red hair posed a problem, but most people didn't look in trees when searching for an enemy, or in his case, a guardian. He had been told to protect her with his life. While Convel thought his life worth something, somehow, he figured it didn't count for rat-shit here in Alagaesia. Especially not when compared to that of a noblewoman. He was expendable, and he knew it. Convel would just have to not let his life be expended by anyone, King, laird, or noblewoman.

I was really getting annoyed now, though I knew that Osiris would feel the annoyance, I actually did not know why I was annoyed. I did not want to be here, I had no idea what form of mission I was on, I was just told to come to the Spine for a mission and wait in this clearing and yet, here I was and no one else was around. I had set my tent and was sitting with Pylar, who was already teaching me how to move the stone around his hand and making it go faster. He then let it land in his hand and handed it to me with a gentle hand. ”You will learn how to do that later, it takes a lot of mental concentrations…”
I nodded as I looked at the stone and gave the order to make it raise in my hand and I just held it there. I was careful as I let it raise and then fall. Osiris was a little bit nervous, something was causing him to be on guard and I had no idea why. He had blocked his mind off for some weird reason and I was really tired of that. He did this constantly and I wanted to sometimes murder him for that. His deep chuckle filled the air and I glanced back at him as he stood and shock slightly like a dog and then moved around the clearing and laid down closer to me. He was very large and he put his head around my side and laid his head in my lap. I laughed slightly at him. ”Are you comfortable lap dog?” He began to let out what sounded like a purr and I could not help but smile at him. He turned his head slightly and I let my arm rest on his neck, just behind the ear. I was still a bit wary of this mission I had been sent on. I was kind of worried it was something stupid and something that just needed to be left alone. I could only hope my father had not sent that guard after me too, I had left early in the morning on Osiris for a reason, but I had joined back up with Pylar later in the day, which meant he could easily track me through Pylar. ”Quit your worrying.” I looked down a the ice blue eyes of Osiris as he looked at me. He had gotten so big, but he was still my baby and he chuckled at my thoughts before he closed his own eyes. I shock my head and looked up as Pylar started digging into a bag. I was slightly confused as to what he was doing and then saw him bring out a dead rabbit and another bag. He looked pained slightly, but then his face was emotionless as he skinned the small beast and then started to cook the rabbit for me and our company, which I was sure would be here soon. I kept hearing something, glancing over my shoulder toward where we had come in and smiling when I saw two figured walking towards us from the forest. Murtagh! I could not believe he was the one I was suppose to be meeting. Arwen was with him too, she would bring some fun into the night and luckily I saw no guard with them. I could take care of myself and my stupid father knew this already, but he had to be stupid and had to get someone. I was going to kill him when I got home and that was a rightful promise! ”Ah...Nayeli?” I smiled at her and stood, watching as she came over towards me and then looked back at Murtagh for just a mere moment. I wondered why they were both here, but I tried not to worry to much about it. ”Hey, Nayeli! I brought your boyfriend over! Thought you might of needed some company.” I smiled, trying to keep a blush from coming to my face and this time it worked. I looked at his cool smile on returned the smile as he came over towards me. ”Nayeli. How are you today?” I smiled for a moment as I looked at the pair, knowing that today was the first day I had seen them both together in about five days. I had actually missed their company and I had only a few stupid soldiers and also that Guard who I thought I would have lost by now. ”Hey Arwen, Hey Murtagh… I am pretty good, was sent out here for some bizarre reason, but I am kind of happy, since…” I looked at Osiris as he let out a growl, which was not good. He was looking towards me and Murtagh, his ice blue eyes connecting with my own. ”What is it Osiris?” He sniffed the air, his tongue coming from his mouth before he looked me dead in the eye. ”Your guardian… In the trees, about thirty feet up, above the Pylar's tent.” I looked back at Murtagh for a moment and with quick reflexes moved swiftly, letting my dagger fly from my hand and heard it hit the tree bark. I glared at the trees, hoping I had at least shocked him. I had found that stupid man and I was happy I had. Pylar nodded and quickly put down what he was doing and ran into the forest quickly. ”I do no appreciate being snuck up on you damn rat… Show yourself!” I was pissed off beyond comparison and so was Osiris who was on his feet and ready for a fight. He had grown a lot, his shoulders were ate my head now and his head could tower above me, but he was still young. I looked at Murtagh for a moment and gave him a crocked smile. ”Forgive me… But my father hired a stupid barn rat to protect me,” My voice was still as cold as ever as I waited for Pylar to return with this damn barn rat. I was tired of being followed and this man was really getting on my last never. cause this is the real thing , love changes everything * ( THIS IS THE NIGHT WHEN EVERY HEART'S EXPLODING! ) Arwen chuckled, her bright sea blue eyes smiling at her friend. Aren't you just excited to see me? Of course you are. she answered lightly while letting go of the reins and giving it to Murtagh who took it with a small glare at her. Arwen smiled sweetly at him before she walked closer towards Nayeli. With a wave, she greeted the dragon, Hey, Osiris. Miss me? Haha. She sat down on the ground, right beside Nayeli. After Murtagh had tied the two horses down, he joined them, but sitting closer towards Arwen.
Murtagh was not uncomfortable being with Nayeli, it was just because he felt safer Arwen would probably push him towards Nayeli. Again. He did not want that to happen. As if Arwen was reading his mind, she whispered to him. Why aren't you sitting beside Nayeli? His grey eyes turned slightly dark as he gave her a small dark look. She pouted and leaned into his arms. Well, Arwen was naturally clingy and Murtagh was used to it now. He let her lean on him, his arms supporting her tiny body. It was true. Arwen was tiny compared to him and she was very slender. He wondered how she even kept fit for he had seen her eat. She was like a monster when she ate. It creeped him out slightly and the only thing he could think of was her being a beef jerky eating monster.
Arwen, on the other hand was looking at the cooking meat. It looked good. Her ear were alerted when she heard a rustle in the trees. It looked as if Murtagh heard it as well, for the both of them sat up straighter as if they were about to get up. They were a little bit late for Nayeli was already up and she had thrown a dagger at the tree. Arwen glared darkly at the tree while Murtagh rose a brow. Nayeli was growling at something and she said along the lines of...a rat? Who was sneaking up on her? Arwen reached for her sword, ready to kill while Murtagh left a hand on his sword. He would probably be quicker than Arwen, since he was the one who taught her in the first place. His grey eyes peered at the trees, a frown forming. Who could it be? He caught Nayeli glancing at him and he knew that he should be impressed that she threw the dagger, but he really wasn't. Why? He had seen Arwen throw it so many times, it had become regular for him.
So, when seeing another woman throw it, it wasn't all so surprising. Besides, Thorn wasn't here to warn him about people hiding in trees. Sure, he could survive without Thorn for a while, but he did miss him quite a bit. He tired not to laugh when Nayeli had dryly told them that her father had sent someone to protect her. Arwen stared at her as if she was waiting for the pun. The girl blinked for a moment before snickering. What? Seriously, that's just so stupid. You're an assassin and you have a dragon. What the hell can actually attack you? Arwen rolled her blue eyes giving a very dry laugh. Murtagh remained quiet as he took the hand off of his sword and used it to rub the back of his neck. In a low tone, he muttered, Barn rat, huh? Sounds like someone stupid... he trailed off to see Arwen grinning at him. He paled slightly. He did not like that smile on her face at all. What was she planning this time? With a cheerful tone, she then pulled Murtagh towards herself a little bit more. You could probably do a much better job than Nayeli's 'protector rat', couldn't you? she was looking at him with a sly smile on her face. Her blue eyes stared right into his calm grey eyes while she smirked wickedly. He broke the eye contact, giving a sigh and closing his eyes for a bit before telling Arwen,
We don't even know who this guy is, yet. I mean, for all we know, he could be... he trailed off for when he opened his eyes, he saw the red haired man coming out of the trees. He was suddenly silent as Arwen stared at the red haired man with disbelief in her eyes.
You have GOT to be joking. Seriously?
Murtagh blinked and stared along with Arwen. Yeah. It's him alright. The two looked at each other before both saying, He's protecting..Nayeli? Isn't he working for...Pravus, or something? They both ended before they both looked at the red haired man with raised brows. Arwen glared hard at Convel and said in a cold tone,
Don't you even dare trying to challenge Murtagh again. You call him any names and I'll make you regret it. It wasn't a threat for Murtagh could see that Arwen meant it as a fact. From the last time they had met, Arwen had yelled at Convel for disrespecting him. He had told her to leave it after, but Arwen would hear none of it. Now, they were stuck with him? So much for good luck. The dark haired girl was now looking over towards Osiris as she gave a sigh and rolled her eyes.
Do you agree to this whole 'protector' crap? I know I don't. she folded her arms and looked at Nayeli with a look of annoyance shown on her face. Her blue eyes flickered from Pylar to Convel back to Nayeli as she then asked,
Now what?

"Now I go back into the trees, disappear from sight, and make sure there's nae a Vardener trying to sneak up and slit someone's throat. I have a job tae do, and the sooner ye let me do it, the sooner ye can go back to discussing whatever the Hell ye were discussing." Convel looked at the group, his eyes assessing them as people. Nayeli was...interesting. Arwen was Murtagh's pet, though she called herself an assassin and carried a sword. Murtagh was an idiot, plain and simple. His sea-blue eyes turned upon the dragon. Osiris, was it? He was intelligent. More so than Murtagh, anyway. Convel pulled Nayeli's dagger from his belt. He'd give it to her, then be back into the trees, maintaining contact with the dragon so as not to scare anyone.
He walked across the clearing, ignoring Murtagh and Arwen. They'd just piss him off and make him punch something. As he walked, he kept his eyes on the point where he'd disappear. His objective, Nayeli, might be pretty enough, but he had nothing to offer, even if he was interested. Convel made it to her with nothing killing him, and as he handed her the dagger, he whispered as he went past, so only she could hear:
"I'm nae a rat. I'm a man. There's a large amount of difference, aye?" Then he was beyond her, past her tent, and into the tree line where the safety of the foliage offered some protection. His hunting sett kilt disappeared as did the shirt and plaid, and then he was climbing up a tree, intending to maintain a constant vigil. He had a principle to protect, and he'd do his job to the best of his considerable ability.

”Aren't you just excited to see me? Of course you are.” I smiled at my friend for a moment as she let the reins slide from her hands and Murtagh took them from her and tied the horses not far from where Pylar had tied the two had had. I could not help but smile as she waved to Osiris. ”Hey, Osiris. Miss me? Haha.” I heard a deep chuckle come from his chest as he looked at the two who had arrives, Pylar only smiling up at me for a moment before continuing onto his cooking. I had to say that he was a very good cook, he did most the cooking around the house now, allowing me a chance to relax for a change. ”It is a pleasure to see you again, Lady Arwen… And Rider Murtagh.”
He let his ice blue eyes land on Murtagh for a moment, his head snaking slightly to the left before back to the original position. ”I thank you for watching after Nayeli.” I could not help but roll my eyes at my brother for a moment. I returned to my seat, allowing Osiris’ own head to lay back in my laugh as he chuckled again. The rabbit smelt so good right now and I was really hungry. I could not help but glance over at Murtagh and Arwen, who were sitting together. I could barely hear what they were saying, but some how, I heard my name in the point somewhere and I rolled my eyes. ”It is not nice to talk about people.” I said, smiling at Arwen for a moment and then returning my gaze to the flames, which danced before me and started to paint my body with their beautiful orange color. The sun was still up, but I could not wait to have it dancing across the trees. I glanced over in time to see Arwen leaning on Murtagh and I smiled, of course, he did not fight her, I could tell he was use to this kind of thing. Arwen’s own eyes were on the rabbit that Pylar was cooking. I knew it would take some time too cook, but when I heard Osiris growl, made my eye contact with him quickly. He did not like the idea of me being protected and when he told me about what it was, I was furious. I had sent my message to him, to show his coward like self. If he wanted to be a guard, then he could stay in my eye sit, I trusted no one, not even my father or those good for nothing friends of his. I was sure that this guardian held some ranking among those men that my father actually liked… Arwen was already at her sword, which I was happy that she was here, it would give me a extra assassin to rely on. I did not care to impress anyone, that was for sure and I knew I would not impress him. I was happy Pylar was here too, as he went into the forest quickly and faster then any human I had seen. I was happy Osiris had come with me, of course, he never left me unless he had a chose too and I was happy that he could be here with me. ”What? Seriously, that's just so stupid. You're an assassin and you have a dragon. What the hell can actually attack you?” I looked at her and then glanced back at the forest for a mere moment. ”What do you expect from a man who is so stupid he would mistake a old hag for a good looking woman and his friends are all the same… I could name off all I would enjoy killing myself.” I knew I was taking a leap by saying I was more then willing to kill those in the empire who knew my father, but none of them were worthy to the empire, they were all stupid and needed to be gelded, just like the stallions around the empire… Most of them were gelded for the women to ride and say that it was a male horse. ”Barn rat, huh? Sounds like someone stupid...” I smiled at him for a moment and nodded. Still waiting for the man to show himself. I was ready to kill my father and when I returned home, I would have a word with him. I would hurt him so badly he would wish he was ever born. ”He is returning… With you so called guardian.” I could hear the distaste in Osiris’ voice as we waiting. I glanced over at Murtagh and Arwen for a moment. ”You could probably do a much better job than Nayeli's 'protector rat', couldn't you?” I smiled at the two for a moment and then looked ahead. Murtagh had closed his eyes for a moment. ”We don't even know who this guy is, yet. I mean, for all we know, he could be...” I saw the red headed man also and growled slightly. He looked like a damn sissy with his dress on and I nearly began to laugh in pure amusement, but my anger was too much for anything. ”You have GOT to be joking. Seriously?” I looked at her for a moment and then back at Murtagh as I waited to see what there were going to say. ”Yeah. It's him alright.” They knew this stupid thing that was before me. It was a sorry excuse for a protector, that was for sure. ”He's protecting..Nayeli? Isn't he working for...Pravus, or something?” They spoke like they were reading each others mind and I wanted to explode! ”PARVUS! I should have known!” I hated Parvus was a passion. He was a self centered idiot and needed to be trained in fighting. He was too self centered to know how to fight. I knew I would get some odd glares from Arwen and Murtagh, so I went ahead and rolled my eyes to explain. ”My father and Parvus are friends, of course, neither one are worth anything to this Empire and honestly, I wish they would both die…” Osiris laughed slightly and I looked back at him for just a moment. ”Don't you even dare trying to challenge Murtagh again. You call him any names and I'll make you regret it.” He had challenged Murtagh? Was this red haired man asking for a death sentence. I could not help but laugh slightly at this and then looked at Osiris who had stood by this point. I looked at the man for a moment. I saw Arwen look at Osiris for a moment. ”Do you agree to this whole 'protector' crap? I know I don't.” He growled fiercely at her for a moment and I nearly jumped from the intense sound he made. He walked around slightly, his ice blue eyes on the red hair man for a moment. ”I would rather eat him then have him protecting my girl… He smell too much like a damn rat… or is that a worm…” He was mad… Really mad… ”Of course, I think I might have a talk with her father when I return… I might already have a meal when I get her back home.” I looked at Pylar as he came and stood beside me, his mind touching my own, so I allowed him in. ”What do you want me to do?” It was a good question and I was not to sure at the very moment. I looked at Arwen who was not happy either and I let out a sigh for a moment. I wanted to get rid of him, I wanted him dead, but that was pointless. It would be bloodshed for no reason and if he worked for Parvus, I would be in some form of trouble, but then again, all I had to say was he surprised me and I took action. "Now I go back into the trees, disappear from sight, and make sure there's nae a Vardener trying to sneak up and slit someone's throat. I have a job tae do, and the sooner ye let me do it, the sooner ye can go back to discussing whatever the Hell ye were discussing." Now I laughed, my head thrown back as I could not help but laughing. I looked at Convel, this was a stupid man and I could not help it right now. I held my stomach slightly and then looked him dead in the eyes. ”You return to those trees and you might want to be running, because then I will consider you a threat and Osiris will have his meal tonight.” Osiris growled as he stalked behind me, looking at Convel with ease. I felt Osiris’ own voice touch the air, his mind expanded to touch everyones as I felt his voice flowing out. ”You had better stop touching my damn mind too you slimly little rat.” Osiris did not like this ’thing’ before us and I did not blame him. He came across without even looking at Murtagh and then caused my own blood to boil. He was a man working for the empire and he had disrespected too nobles… Well, I was not enjoying that too much, but this truly made me pissed off. I took my dagger from him and placed it back at my wrist, watching as he came up to me. "I'm nae a rat. I'm a man. There's a large amount of difference, aye?" I chuckled slightly at him as I looked back at him as he entered the trees. ”You are? I swore all I saw was a slimy rat, just like the rest of those nobles… Osiris… You can go hunting now, anything beyond this clearing is free game.” He growled and his body flew into the air. I watched as he hide behind the clouds and I returned my seat next to the fire. ”As I said ’rat’ anything beyond this clearing is free game, you can either sit with us, or be a meal…” I showed no fear as I set down. Pylar was finishing up the rabbit and cutting it up for us, though Convel could find his own meal, since I was not going to make Pylar feed him. I watched as Pylar did not cut any off for himself, but stuck with the fruit he had brought. [/blockquote] Word Count: 1,740 Tagged: Murtagh Morzanson, Arwen Redfern, Convel Comments: Hunting time!!! cause this is the real thing , love changes everything * ( THIS IS THE NIGHT WHEN EVERY HEART'S EXPLODING! ) Oh, and hey Pylar! That rabbit smells delicious!
Murtagh gave a small bow towards the dragon and replied in a smooth cool tone. It was not a problem protecting Nayeli. He found that the dragon seemed to like Arwen more than him. Probably because he was male and human, Murtagh decided that it was the reason why the dragon disliked him. He didn't quite care, but it would be nice to have the dragon like him. Arwen smiled at Nayeli while leaning on Murtagh feeling relaxed. She had greeted Pylar earlier and was still eying the rabbit, licking her lips. Murtagh poked her taunt stomach while she gave a squeak and faked glared at Murtagh. Oh, he knew her weak points. He also knew that she wanted rabbit as well. After they finished whispering to each other, Arwen giggled at Nayeli. She retorted, Just so you know, it's nothing bad. Just saying how gorgeous you look today, isn't that right Murtagh? she looked up and smirked up at him. He glowered at her before he muttered, Right. With a look at Arwen he smirked and asked, So, you're saying that Nayeli doesn't always look good? Unfazed, Arwen shot back with an evil smile. I'm just saying she looks particularly nice today. Did you think I was trying to say that she wasn't pretty looking before? Shame, Murtagh. she gave a dramatic sigh as she lay back on his arm. He glared at her, wanting to say something, but remained silent. Instead, he pinched her and poked her at the side. She yelped in pain and then cringed at the sudden poke. Glaring up at the now satisfied Murtagh, she stuck her tongue out at him. He grinned at her while looking quite amused at the fact that Arwen was trying to get back at him. His abs were quite hard, so when she poked it, he felt nothing. The two enjoyed having little 'fights' and sometimes it felt as if they were in their own little worlds.
Arwen snuggled closer to her brother, letting his arms embrace her completely. She knew that Murtagh was...well, a bit of a pervert even though he didn't act like it, but she knew. He wouldn't do anything to her, obviously because she was that close to him. Besides, she knew that he only thought of her as a younger sister. Alright, maybe a little bit closer than a younger sister. Her blue eyes then flickered towards the sound of the intruder. The two let go to each other rather quickly and began to get up. Arwen's hand was already gripping her sword and a rather annoyed glare appeared on her face. Upon hearing Nayeli speak she gave a low chuckle.
Your father is an idiot. I suppose you wouldn't mind me saying that, would you?
When the two had finished talking about Pravus, they both nearly jumped at thee sound of Nayeli's angry voice. The two turned around to look at the other woman with a quizzical look. She had explained and the two nodded in agreement. Arwen spoke. I hate that man. He's horrible. Murtagh snorted and added, His brother is one of my friends. I respect his brother but no him. He darkly said with a look of annoyance shown when looking at Convel.
Her tone was very dry while Arwen looked at Convel with her arms crossed and a look of amusement crossed her face. This skirt wearing man was as stupid as he looked. I'm pretty sure she can protect herself from any Varden people. Ever think that maybe she might be able to fight because she is an assassin and just maybe because she has a dragon? Rolling her eyes, she looked over at Osiris and smirked. The dragon's words could not be any truer. Convel was like a rat to her. A worm. She was disliking him more and more each time she saw him. When she had seen him with Elle, she didn't quite mind. Though, now she minded quite a lot. Raising a brow at what he said next she gave a laugh.
Seriously, Convel. You can't blame them for thinking that you're a rat. You hid in a tree instead of walking up to Nayeli like a normal person. She smirked. Alright, maybe she was pounding him just a little bit too much, but she didn't care. Murtagh remained silent, not wanting to even talk to the piece of filth. His grey eyes looked at him for a moment before dismissing him with a cold look. His attention then went back to Arwen who was now fuming over the man or something. Arwen snickered and cruelly said, I do hope Osiris gets his food soon. Though, I'm not very sure if the 'rat' will suit his tastes. a mean like smile came upon her face, cold blue eyes looked back towards the section where he had disappeared off into. Murtagh gave her a gentle push as he told her softly and quietly,
Enough, Arwen. Your sharp tongue can rest for a bit, can't it? the girl looked up at him. Shrugging, she just found his arm and hugged it naturally feeling bored again. She then looked over towards Pylar who was cutting the rabbit now. A grin came upon her face as she let go on Murtagh and walked towards Pylar and sat down close to him. Hey! That looks tasty! Where did you learn to cook like this, Pylar? You're kinda amazing! she complimented the elf sweetly while her eyes were on the piece of meet. Murtagh rolled his eyes knowing that the girl would probably find a way to get to the meat. Plus, if he got some, she would find a way to get him to share.

"Being an assassin doesn't necessarily mean ye can defend yourself against an arrow. Having a dragon doesn't mean it can defend ye from a berserker, someone impervious to pain while they fight. Could ye fight with a broken hand? I dinnae think so. Could ye fight with a spear sticking out of your shoulder? No. Ye have tae stop, and cry for a time-out while ye heal the smallest of wounds. Grit your teeth, rub some dirt in it, then kill the bastard that wounded ye. Except Alagaesians with magic have tae rely on it, use it for everything. Why not let concentrate upon winning the battle? Because the land here is soft, easy to till, while ye stay away from the wild places. Alban men can sleep in wet heather during winter in nothing but clothing they've been wearing for several days. We can hunt during the night, carry home the hunted, and then farm from sun up to sun down, and then attack an enemy clan during the next night. If I'm a rat, I must be the strongest damned rat in this world. I have spent three weeks in a forest more wild than the Spine, with nothing but a kilt, my dirk, and myself. I emerged carrying a wolf bigger than any that had been killed in Alba before, with his blood staining my dirk, and my blood staining his teeth. Now, why don't ye pretend tae do whatever your jobs are, while ye let me take care of mine. And then, during the night, maybe a deer will come flying through the air, landing in the clearing, so ye can have breakfast. I fully intend on accomplishing my duty, hostility or not, dragon hunting me or not, insults flying my way or not. I'm going to damned well do my duty to the best of my ability, wounded or not, insulted or not, hunted or not.
Also, by your definition, I'm nae normal. I am an Earl, a Laird, the chieftain of a clan, and sixth in line for High King of Alba, since my father is dead. I am a warrior, a farmer, a sailor, a carpenter, and a hunter. I can stalk the same deer for weeks at a time, over terrain rougher than this. I have loved, and been loved back by a beautiful lass, but now she is dead. I am not by any means a normal man. I have seen things that would give you nightmares, sailed across an ocean deeper than Alagaesia is wide, stood upon mountains like nae other anywhere in this world, and ye wish tae call me normal? I am not a noble in the Alagaesian sense of the word. Here, they leech upon the poor, taking and destroying. In Alba, a noble worked alongside his peasants in the field, harvesting, growing, hunting. Do not call me normal again, for I have a title, if ye must speak with me. You may call me 'Milord Broch Taurach', observe the formalities, and leave me alone."
His voice held anger, sorrow, and memories that had been long forgotten. Convel was pissed. They want to feel insulted he's busy in the trees, searching for anything vaguely threatening? Let them. He'd let the anger simmer for a while, then channel it when he next fought. Let the girl attack him. She'd never know true love until it came and went, withering like a blossom in her heart. They want to make him resurrect memories of things he never wanted to remember again? If a fight with Murtagh came, he'd welcome it, for he protected a girl that jests at scars that never left a wound on him, or her. Convel had felt the wound every day of his life for three years until that wound had healed, and now it was raw and bleeding again, leaving him feeling dead inside. Margaret, why did you have to go? I love you, girl. And now they wish to insult me and bring you back to a shadow life, living once more, in my memories, but forever dead, never to laugh at a joke I made again. God, I miss you.
A quick check of the surroundings showed no enemies. The coast was clear for him to begin searching. A broken bit of leaf here, brown fur there, a half impression on a fern, all these showed Convel that a group of deer had passed, two hours before, and one was limping. The thrill of the hunt stirred in his blood, then died as he had a noble, an over grown lizard, a pet, an elf, and a buggerer to protect. Why he couldn't kill the sodomite, Convel didn't understand. He had even asked Pravus permission, but a no had stopped him. Now he was protecting Murtagh, while he should be killing him. Such was life, and with a soft sigh, Convel settled back against a tree, intending to wait for when he was needed.
Comments: Wow. O.O. I didn't expect that. I expected mad, yes. A rant against Alagaesia, magic, and his titles; nope. Not at all. The whole love thing was unexpected, too. I had no clue that would happen.

”Oh, and hey Pylar! That rabbit smells delicious!” I smiled as I glanced over at Pylar for just a mere moment saw him nod a thank you. I glanced over at Murtagh as he looked at the black beast I called my brother and my friend. ”It was not a problem protecting Nayeli.” Something told me that Murtagh really did not mind watching out for me and that much I was certain of. I could tell by the way Osiris glanced at me, I could not help but smile at him. Osiris knew that Murtagh liked me, I had thought about him so much, it was not surprising. I watched as Arwen rested again Murtagh and I could tell that they were relaxed. I still wanted to know what the job was, but I had not felt like asking anyone. I watched as Pylar continued to cook the rabbit and snapped my head around as I watched Arwen squirm from beimg poked. ”Just so you know, it's nothing bad. Just saying how gorgeous you look today, isn't that right Murtagh?” I smiled at her. I had done nothing different, that much was for sure. I figured it was to get Murtagh to compliment me. ”Right.” I looked at him for a moment and smiling. I was surprised that I could hold back the blush I wanted to show. ”So, you're saying that Nayeli doesn't always look good?” Murtagh was trying to turn this back on Arwen and it was rather funny to be honest. I saw the evil glare and just set back and watched it all unfold. ”I'm just saying she looks particularly nice today. Did you think I was trying to say that she wasn't pretty looking before? Shame, Murtagh.” She was good, that much I could give her. She could turned anything around and it was rather funny. I knew that Murtagh wanted to say something and I could not help but smile at the two, they were crazy and I felt so comfortable around them.
”At least you have some friends, but that don’t mean I am going to trust both of them… I trust Arwen more then I do Murtagh,”
I glanced down at him for a moment and then looked back at the two. They were once again fighting and she was yelping in pain before sticking her tongue out at him. I could not help but be amused by the two of them. They were so close, I could only wish that I had a brother like Murtagh was to Arwen. ”You do… You have me and though you may not think it, I am sure you have your own brother.” I looked at him again and stroked his neck with my fingers, hearing his low purr like sound coming from him. I knew I had him, but I wanted someone who could hold me. Osiris knew this and he was not at all hurt by this. Every woman needed someone to hold her when she was crying and a dragon could not do that. He nudged my cheek a moment later and I smiled. Then that stupid, Alban, dress wearing man came out. I was really getting tired of my father and I would be sure that this man lost all supply of money come at him for ’protecting’ me. I rolled my eyes slightly. ”Your father is an idiot. I suppose you wouldn't mind me saying that, would you?” I shrugged. I really did not care what so ever. But when I let my voice rise and shout of anger towards Parvus. I hated the man like a passion, just like I hated my father. ”I hate that man. He's horrible.” I nodded in agreement. ”His brother is one of my friends. I respect his brother but no him.” I did not know of his brother, but I knew he was a idiot and I hated him. ”I'm pretty sure she can protect herself from any Varden people. Ever think that maybe she might be able to fight because she is an assassin and just maybe because she has a dragon?” I agreed with a simple nod before I add myself. ”I have killed more varden then that damned Parvus, taking my dagger to there throat and smiling as I watched there own life slip away.” I said to him, knowing that I would not do that again unless I had a chose, but my ice blue eyes held no remorse as I looked him dead in the eyes. I showed little care, now matter what. ”Seriously, Convel. You can't blame them for thinking that you're a rat. You hid in a tree instead of walking up to Nayeli like a normal person.” I agreed, he was a rat, slinking away into the dark, could he not face his enemies with some honor. There was no honor is facing the man or woman you were killing. ”At least I keep myself in full view when killing… I am not scared to be found by my victims.” I said. I did… I may be a Assassin, but at least I showed myself before the death came to him, I gave the man or woman a chance to run if they wanted to, just so I could have my own hunt. "Being an assassin doesn't necessarily mean ye can defend yourself against an arrow. Having a dragon doesn't mean it can defend ye from a berserker, someone impervious to pain while they fight.” I laughed at his ranting, he could go on and honestly, I felt nothing but pure pity that he was with me, because he knew nothing. ”Could ye fight with a broken hand? I dinnae think so. Could ye fight with a spear sticking out of your shoulder? No. Ye have tae stop, and cry for a time-out while ye heal the smallest of wounds.” I had been in enough pain to know about pain and my eyes burned with fire. I wanted to show him the wounds I had from battle, those wounds that I never showed to anyone. Not even my father knew of these wounds. ”Grit your teeth, rub some dirt in it, then kill the bastard that wounded ye. Except Alagaesians with magic have tae rely on it, use it for everything. Why not let concentrate upon winning the battle?” Winning a battle? I could win one with ease, now he was attacking my own character. Was he saying I could not fight. Osiris looked at me, my own body was shaking with pure anger as I looked at this stupid man. ”Because the land here is soft, easy to till, while ye stay away from the wild places. Alban men can sleep in wet heather during winter in nothing but clothing they've been wearing for several days. We can hunt during the night, carry home the hunted, and then farm from sun up to sun down, and then attack an enemy clan during the next night.” I crossed my arms, looking at him for a moment. ”You call us weaklings? Yet, you make your home among us? Sounds pretty weak if you ask me… You say that I can not fight while I am wounded, or without the magic I have only just started to learn?” I untucked the shirt that was skin tight on my, pulling it up to just below my chest, showing the bare skin that showed of a slashing ground across my stomach. ”Those damn varden did this to me while I fought and all I did was step back from battle, to wrap my stomach with my torn shirt and went on fighting…” I was pissed beyond this point. My hand was clenched around the dagger that I had already won and I felt my mind becoming consumed by anger. I felt Osiris pounding into my mind, but I quickly threw his own mind from my own. ”If I'm a rat, I must be the strongest damned rat in this world. I have spent three weeks in a forest more wild than the Spine, with nothing but a kilt, my dirk, and myself. I emerged carrying a wolf bigger than any that had been killed in Alba before, with his blood staining my dirk, and my blood staining his teeth.” I laughed at him! I did not believe it until I saw it and I looked him dead in the eyes. My anger was crawling from my stomach to my mouth. I wanted to kill him, my mind was on killing him at this point and I was not scared to do it either. Then I would go after Parvus, the piece of scum and my father. ”Now, why don't ye pretend tae do whatever your jobs are, while ye let me take care of mine. And then, during the night, maybe a deer will come flying through the air, landing in the clearing, so ye can have breakfast.” I growled slightly, my own voice had taken on a form of voice I had never heard before sometimes. I was so made, I wanted to kill him. ”Yes you are a damn rat, slimy and arrogant! I have seen bigger rats then you and if you call yourself big, then I laugh… You are nothing but a mere boy in my eyes! Why don’t you return to your safe little hide away with Parvus, maybe you can both return to your stupid country!” Osiris was again pounding into my mind and I wanted to just rip him apart. I glared over my shoulder at him, where he was now standing, his body looked like that of a cat as I looked into his ice blue eyes. I knew he wanted me to calm down, but there was no calming down. ”I fully intend on accomplishing my duty, hostility or not, dragon hunting me or not, insults flying my way or not. I'm going to damned well do my duty to the best of my ability, wounded or not, insulted or not, hunted or not.” I glared at him, this man was stupid and I was tired of him. I felt my hands clenching around my dagger, my skin tight shirt had fallen back over my scared belly and I looked towards him as he still was not done with his stupid rant. ”Also, by your definition, I'm nae normal. I am an Earl, a Laird, the chieftain of a clan, and sixth in line for High King of Alba, since my father is dead. I am a warrior, a farmer, a sailor, a carpenter, and a hunter.” I laughed so hard now, looking at him for a moment, with anger in my eyes, hatred for him and all who were like him. ”I can stalk the same deer for weeks at a time, over terrain rougher than this. I have loved, and been loved back by a beautiful lass, but now she is dead.”My own anger voice out this time. ”Dead? She must not of been much of a woman if she could not defend herself… And she is lucky, if she was alive I would feel sorry for her, for she would have to spend the rest of her life, listening to you and your arrogance.” I did not care about the hole I was digging, I was ready for a battle and ready to kill him myself. I was not scared to fight, I would not even allow Osiris in on this battle. He was growling now, trying to get my attention, but I ignored him. ”I am not by any means a normal man. You may call me 'Milord Broch Taurach', observe the formalities, and leave me alone." I let my voice reach out towards him again. I looked him dead in the eyes, my ice blue ones were cold and hard, full of hatred like no other I had felt before. ”The day I call you anything beyond Slimy, Arrogant, good for nothing rat, is the day the earth freezes over.” I could hear the anger in his own voice, could feel the sorrow in the air, but I felt no compassion towards him, I was pissed and nothing was going to stop me now. I did not care about his petty love affair, did not care that she was dead. I had no feelings for her. He worked for the empire, the people I was trying hard to get away from now. I knew I had been raised in this empire and I was bashing the Varden, but I knew it was the only way to keep everyone from knowing what side I was truly on. ”If you are a warrior and a man, then you will come out in the open like a true man… Or is that how you were taught in your beloved Alba… To coward like the little rats you are.” He talked about fighting with wounds, I had more scars then could be counted on my hands. I did not like them, never wanted them, but it was the life I had taken to serving the empire and I knew the story behind each. He was gone back into the forest and Osiris was gone. He was still trying to hammer into my mind, but I quickly blew it off. I did not care any more, I threw the dagger into the dirt, it was sticking there into the dirt, the tough dirt. I growled, turning to see Pylar was finishing the Rabbit. I just looked around for a moment and then let out a sigh before glancing into the sky. The sun was making orange rays, almost like the color of a angry sky, it was beautiful. ”I do hope Osiris gets his food soon. Though, I'm not very sure if the 'rat' will suit his tastes.” I looked at Arwen, my vision still cloudy from my own ranting. ”Enough, Arwen. Your sharp tongue can rest for a bit, can't it?” I looked at Murtagh for a moment. He was right, we needed to calm down, but I was too boiling mad to calm down. I walked away from them for a moment, stopping as I got to the horses. I needed time to be alone and I was going to get it. I turned to look into the trees, my eyes narrow. ”Hey! That looks tasty! Where did you learn to cook like this, Pylar? You're kinda amazing!” I glanced over my shoulder for a moment and growled before grabbing the reins to the black horse. I mounted and was gone! I did not care at the moment, but I needed sometime alone, I needed to clear my head and right now, if that man followed I would not care to fight him. I still felt Osiris yelling into my head and I did not care, I would not care! ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- She was riding! This was not good and she was blocking me from her mind, which was making things hard for me to keep a eye on her. I had to get Pylar to follow her, but I knew better. She would only keep running from him… Murtagh! He could do it, he could settle her in more way. He could talk to her, she was not allowing me to talk to her at all. I flew into the sky, trying to make sure I kept her in my eyes. ”Murtagh! Go after her! Her mind has clouded with anger, she is not caring on where she goes! She will just keep riding and she had blocked me from her mind completely.” I did not like being forced out, she had done it during the argument, but now it was worse then ever. cause this is the real thing , love changes everything * ( THIS IS THE NIGHT WHEN EVERY HEART'S EXPLODING! ) Why you..
Arwen was cut off with a jerk on her arm. Her blue eyes whipped around to meet the cool and calm eyes of Murtagh. He mouthed a 'don't' towards her and with a tight grip around her arm, he gently let go. With an angry look at Convel, she listened to him rant on about something stupid. Murtagh was close to her now and had his hand tightly wrapped around her waist, keeping her from running towards the red haired man ad slaughtering him. She stiffened when he began to talk about them being 'weak'. Arwen could of just yelled at him. Snarl. Rip him into pieces, but Murtagh held her still, his heartbeat was as steady as ever. Damn, why was he so calm in this situation? Arwen looked up, confused at why he was still so calm. Was he not affected at all? His eyes flickered down towards the blue eyes of Arwen, locking on for a moment. She shuffled closer towards him, trying to calm herself down.
This time, she wasn't going to lash out. This man was too thick-headed to listen to any of their responses. She watched as Nayeli shot back at him, the girl's sharp tone and her anger began to affect Arwen just slightly. She could feel Murtagh stiffening, but she helped him by squeezing his hand for a moment, to help him remain calm as well. By now, Osiris was growling and trying to warn Nayeli. Arwen tried as well, as her voice became slightly gentler, Nayeli. He's too stupid to even know what you're talking about. Don't waste your breath. Her tone turned sharp before glaring darkly at Convel. Murtagh hugged the girl closer towards him, his cold grey eyes staring Convel down with no emotion shown of his face. Arwen gritted her teeth together, feeling her anger come back to her. That blasted...bloody hell! Arwen could feel her own blood boiling. Sure. He had a title. With a sneer, she was unable to stop herself from saying, No, no. Your title should be The Pathetic Red Haired Worm. There's nothing great or noble about you. Afterall, you are the one who was weak enough to betray the Varden so easily. she snapped at him. Murtagh's voice was sharp and cold when he glared at her with a look of annoyance. Arwen! She was about to snap at him too before he covered her mouth with a hand. He hissed in her ear softly so that only she could hear him, Don't say anything. You're just going to make him talk more, idiot. Her blue eyes came to a realization and with a small nod, he removed his hand from her mouth.
She then gave a noisy sigh and hugged Murtagh tightly, tip toeing to kiss him on the cheek. You're right. It was...stupid of me to do that. Thanks. He rolled his eyes before planting a kiss on the top of her head and hugging her back. Arwen had now run off towards Plyar, looking cheerful again. His eyes looked over towards Nayeli who looked very angry. He walked over slowly he opened his mouth to say, Nayeli... She had turned away from him and as soon as she had gotten on her horse, she rode away the horse galloping away. He blinked confused for a moment before hearing the dargon's voice in his head. His grey eyes widened slightly as he ran towards his own horse and untied it quickly. Arwen looked up and ran over towards him, confusion written all over her face.
Where are you going? Where's Nayeli? Her blue eyes looked around, suddenly worried. Murtagh shook his head as he quickly explained, She ran away. I'm going to get her back. Arwen ran over towards her horse and with a determined look on her face as she snapped, I'm going with you. I don't want anything bad to happen to-- Murtagh snapped at her with an annoyed expression.
No! You stay here. I'll be back in a few minutes. You don't need to come.
But...
Just stay here, Arwen! I'll be back soon. I want to see you here when I get back, got it? he snapped at her with an angry look on his face. Arwen frowned and nodded. A pain in her chest began to appear, unable to stop it. She stepped away from her horse quietly, watching Murtagh kick his horse into a gallop. He was going to go after Nayeli alone. Why couldn't she go too? It didn't make any sense! Nayeli was her friend! Not Murtagh's! Alright, maybe...but she was way closer to Nayeli than he was! It just didn't make sense! She snarled angrily, feeling the anger in her blood.
Why? I don't freaking get it. It should be me that's going after her! Not him! her blue eyes were on fire, while she stalked her way towards the fire and sat around it. Her blue eyes looked up angrily and looked at Pylar. Her voice sounded strange to her ears and the pain in her chest hurt even more. She then asked,
What does it mean when your best friend wants your brother? her mouth turned into a small frown. Her blue eyes turned slightly dark. She knew what this feeling was now. Jealously. Nayeli was taking Murtagh away from her. Murtagh was hers! Not Nayeli's. Without waiting for a response, she answered her own question with a smile on her face.
It means that your best friend just needs to learn how to share. Her blue eyes regained the cold look that she held when she knew that something was going to change. She gave a pretty smile towards Pylar as she quietly hummed a catchy tune while looking up at the sky.
Meanwhile, Murtagh was beginning to catch up to the dark haired woman. He shouted above the wind, Nayeli! Stop! he tried to command her to stop. He glared hard at the horse infront of him and kicked his hard to get the animal to go faster. It did and surpassed Nayeli's horse. He stopped in front of her, blocking her way completely. He was panting slightly, his dark hair messed up. His grey eyes looked worried and slightly angry while looking at the dark haired woman. Get a hold of yourself, Nayeli! You're acting ridiculous! He snapped at her, his voice surprisingly cold and sharp. He slowly nudged his horse forward towards Nayeli's horse, the cold look on his face slowly began to fade away.
Nayeli...

So now Nayeli would run and hide from the first fight that showed some challenge, not lying down and dying on her command. The scar on her stomach was nothing compared to Convel's back. Growling at Rollo, who had remained in the trees, in Gaelic, Rollo took off after her, while Convel circled around the clearing and found his own warhorse.
After hearing Rollo howl twice, Convel took off after his 'principle', the whiny girl that couldn't deal the fact that not all men were cowards, not all men were honor-less pigs. The Alban rode as fast as Donas could run, ducking branches, and looking out for Rollo. An on looker would have seen a tartan clad monster, mounted upon a demon horse. Why could they not let him do his job? They had to get all offended at his duties, insulting him, generally making nuisances of themselves. Convel rode like there was no tomorrow, and as Murtagh, Nayeli, and the horses came into sight, the latter two being the most important, Convel slowed to just fast enough to keep them in sight. He was supposed to guard them, not lose his manhood for them.
If they saw him, he could care less. He was doing a job. The only thing he got for it was his continued bed in the stables or barracks, and continued meals. He was lucky to have a pallet in the stables, let alone cot in the barracks. Convel kept looking for threats, sword loosened in sheath and the hand not holding the reins near the hilt.

”Why you..” Arwen was mad, as well as Nayeli. I could not believe what was going on and I wanted to go crazy on the red headed man. I knew that Nayeli’s father wanted completely control over his daughter, but she was too fiery for him, I could not even control her. I did not know what to do at this point, all I could do was stand there, my large body behind Murtagh, Arwen, Pylar, and Nayeli, who was boiling mad at this point. I knew of her scars, her body was littered with them from shoulder to feets. How she had managed to keep them away from her beautiful, I did not know. But I watched her change and bathe, I could see them, saw how she cared for them greatly, keeping them moist so they did not become hard like most people kept them. I would watch as she did this and in my mind, feel the pain that she relived, but it did not bother her, this much I knew.
I watched as Murtagh kept a hold on Arwen, trying to keep her calm down, but Nayeli was gone. There was no calming her down, her own anger was pushing me out of her mind and I could not push myself back in. If she got to far, I could only imagine what would happen. I could feel Pylar getting the same feeling I was, he was so opened minded to people and he was touching my mind with a gentle feeling. ”You need to stop her Osiris, weather it be physical or mentally.”
I knew this and nodded my head to him, but at this point, I had a bad feeling any mental blows from me would be too weak against her. I did not want to hurt her, but her anger was boiling and I had no idea what to do. She had not gotten this mad since her brother left home and then she put that emotion block up to keep others from entering… She had never let it down… But I had a bad feeling I knew why it had come down… Anger to her father… That was the only reason I saw right now. I did not know what to do. ”Nayeli!” Her cold blue eyes touched my own before she returned back to her lashing out at his mand. I did not know the red haired rat, nor did I care. My priority was Nayeli’s safety and it was slipping from my grasp. Each fume of anger only pushed me further from her mind. When I tried to get more ground, all I saw was red, and it hurt to look. She was enraged at this point, there was no stopping it. ”Nayeli. He's too stupid to even know what you're talking about. Don't waste your breath.” I growled in agreement, but there was no point. I looked at Arwen and Murtagh from behind, my feet taking a step forwards, wanting to slink out and grab her, but her glares backwards send fear down my own spine. She was a monster when it came to anger, it was honestly something I did not like, but there was only one person who could get her like this… Her father and his control over her, her mother, and her sister… He had let that control slip until recently when he had heard about Murtagh… Now he was gaining it back and it was killing her inside. ”No, no. Your title should be The Pathetic Red Haired Worm. There's nothing great or noble about you. Afterall, you are the one who was weak enough to betray the Varden so easily.” I slightly winced at that, looking at Murtagh nearly wanted to take her arm off. ”Arwen!” I hated to think it, but she did need to be quiet… She had to, Nayeli was pissed and I was getting a bad headache from feeling the pain and anger coming from my rider. She may of pushed me from her mind, but I could feel everything. Then she showed her scar, the one scar that even today some how affected her. I hated to hear about the story, hated to know that she had nearly died. I knew it had been when she worked for this empire willingly, but inside, she still felt no remorse, she looked at that day with pride. She had fought with a great lost of blood and pain like no one else. She had survived… I looked up to her for that… ”Don't say anything. You're just going to make him talk more, idiot.” I heard Murtagh’s voice and nodded slightly, even though I was sure that they could not see me nod. I glanced at Nayeli, her yells were full of anger and it hurt me so much at this point. I did not pay attention to Murtagh and Arwen as they settled down, but I saw her join Pylar. I watched as Nayeli stalked away, she did not care any more, she just wanted it all to go away… I flew into the sky, knowing that I would need to hurry and follow her and keep a eye on the damn red headed idiot. I could see Murtagh trying to help her, but it was not working, it was only causing her more grief. Arwen wanted to go, I could hear it from where I stood and I looked down slightly. ”Arwen, I know you want to go, but please stay here… It is something that two dragon riders need to work together to make… She loves you more then anyone on this earth besides me, but this is something that can not be helped by friends, but by people who have more in common then they know.” I knew that Murtagh could get into Nayeli more then anyone else could beside me. It was something about Dragon Riders. Pylar let me listen to everything below. ”Why? I don't freaking get it. It should be me that's going after her! Not him!” Pylar looked at her for a moment, patting the seat next to him with his hand and he looked at her with gentle eyes. ”What does it mean when your best friend wants your brother?” He laughed for a moment and offered her a boil full of the meat he had just prepared. ”Sometimes, even our best friends can not calm us down, but someone who has just met you… Murtagh might know the perfect words to say.” Pylar was wise, I could give him that and as I was connected to his mind and I listened out for anything going on beyond the forest. ” It means that your best friend just needs to learn how to share.” I even chuckled at that, but let my mind return to the forest, watching the red haired man. ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- I wanted to go crazy! My father was the stupidest man in the world and I hated him so much right now. He was gaining the control he wanted over me, but once I returned home, there would be no more control. I would make sure of that. I wanted to go crazy, but all I felt was the anger coursing through my body and the feeling that I was being followed. ”Nayeli! Stop!” Murtagh? It was him, but I was not going to stop. I was going to ride as far as I could to get away from that damn red headed idiot and I was going to make my own plan. How was I going to get rid of my father’s control. I did not know. I snapped out of my own thoughts and stopped the horse, feeling him slide on the dirt and rocks under his hooves. ”Get a hold of yourself, Nayeli! You're acting ridiculous!” I narrowed my eyes at him, looking at him for a moment as he came forward. I watched as his cold look began to fade away and I myself felt a little but calmer. What was I doing??? I was letting my own anger get the best of me. Why did my father have this grip on me? I dropped the reins and put my hand over my eyes, trying to get a hold of myself. Nothing was working, but I knew I had to try. ”Nayeli...” I looked at him for a moment and let out a breath before dropping my hands. I wanted to scream! I wanted to fly so high that no one could touch me. ”Why… Why must my father have this grip on me?” I could not help but ask out loud. I just looked at the sunseting sky, the stars just barely popping out here and there. I felt Osiris was near, but I had blocked him from my mind and had no idea how to let him in at all right now. I heard something crashing down into the trees and then looked to see his black scales, a loud roar coming from his jaws as he looked into the trees. ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- Convel! He had followed, along with his oversized rat with fur. I had found him, not to far from my girl. He was the threat and I was the protector. She was not running from any fight, she was running to keep herself from killing another empire soul. She knew it could be the end for her and I looked at Convel with my ice blue eyes. I let my roar reach into the skies as heard the trees falling down around me for a moment. I did not care for Convel and I was not going to care. I had sent Murtagh after her, not this stupid red headed man. ”You can take yourself and your oversize rat back to the clearing, she is more protect here then she will ever be by you!” I let my razor sharp teeth get shown as I inched towards him, ready to tackle him or run him back. I glanced over my shoulder at Nayeli and then back at Convel, ready to make sure he returned to his place of rest. I was not going to kill him tonight, but I would be sure that Nayeli’s father heard my own words and my own opinion. Nayeli was old enough to be on her own, she was trained in the battle, had been scared from her battles and was now trying to control her temper. She knew that if she killed Convel, Parvus would find another way to get rid of her and myself. I was not going to let that happen, but I would make sure that this rat and his puppetmaster got what they were looking for. ”You can either return to the clear or return to the city, where you can tell her father that he had better run for his life… He can be sure to have a visit from me in the next few days and then you will be off this damn job.” I was letting all to hear, I knew that Arwen would hear my words, as well as Convel and Murtagh. Nayeli would too, but I honestly did not care if she heard right now. She had enough going on through her body. cause this is the real thing , love changes everything * ( THIS IS THE NIGHT WHEN EVERY HEART'S EXPLODING! ) She was upset. Arwen understood that people had family problems. She didn't have really all that much, to be truthful. Her parents and even her adopted parents were dead. Not much to agrue about, right? The only family problem she had was with Eragon and wanting to kill her or something. Of course, that was completely different from what Nayeli was suffering was. What was the difference from killing your own father and from killing another random man on the streets? Arwen didn't know for she had never felt hate towards her fathers before. Blue clear eyes looked up at the great dragon and scowled. Fine. I'll stay. Though, I'm gonna make sure that I know what happened later on. Murtagh will spill everything later. I'll make sure of that. She had already made her way towards the fire and was sitting down. With a pout on her face, she was feeling very annoyed. Still. She grumbled under her breath as she growled, Rider or no rider, Nayeli is my best friend and it's MY job to help her if she's in trouble. Her blue eyes darkened, a glare beginning to form.
She rose a brow at Pylar and scowled again. Murtagh knew what to say? Alright, he may actually be a very nice guy at heart but Arwen wasn't sure if he was able to even say...reassuring words to another girl he wasn't even close with. Murtagh, she knew, was a very unemotional person and was not exactly a sort of person you would rely on to comfort you. She gave a sigh before listening to Pylar give a laugh at her little...joke. Well, not exactly. She was part serious though she let it out as more of a joke. Nayeli was just going to have to share Murtagh for Arwen knew even though her friend had a...crush on her brother, she wasn't going to let her have him so easily. Sure, at first she wanted them both together, but now it seems at if she had changed her mind. She'll let the two be together...for a bit and then she'll cut right through and take him back.
She looked down at the meat that Pylar gave her and a bright smile appeared on her face. You know what? Forget Murtagh. She had some tasty meat infront of her awaiting to be devoured. I'll deal with him later. Ooooh. This looks delicious! Arwen licked her lips, and carefully cut it so she could eat it. Chewing it thoughtfully, her eyes widened. Pylar...this is delicious! You're amazing! Please make more for me? her blue eyes turned into the puppy eyed look as she looked amazed at the piece of meat in front of her. Hopefully Murtagh would be able to solve Nayeli's little mental breakdown. While she waited, Arwen was going to a lot of yummy meat!
Murtagh sneezed lightly before rubbing his nose. Was someone talking about him? Shrugging the thought off, he glanced back at Nayeli who looked angry and depressed. He got his horse towards a small trot towards Nayeli and stopped right beside her. She was pale and not looking well at all. He reached out and touched her hand lightly as he said,
If you really have to, just cry. It's better to let your emotions out than keep them in.
Murtagh tried for that was one thing he had learned from Arwen. Hell, he didn't even know what to say. All he knew was a girl happened to be insanely unhappy and he needed to say something to make her happy or even to make her calm again. He tried to sound as gentle and calm as possible as he answered her in a gentler tone, He has no hold over you unless you let him. You are your own master. You're a rider. Not a mere human. A Rider, Nayeli! You shouldn't have to listen to him as much, for you are of a higher rank than he is. He told her with cold grey eyes, almost telling himself as well. He gripped her hand tightly, squeezing it. He then told himself that it would be easy taming Nayeli. ha, yeah right. She was like Arwen. at least he hoped so. Think of her as Arwen. He chanted in his mind while he continued to look at Nayeli with gentle grey eyes. His head then turned to see the great black dragon who was snarling at Convel who had followed them. He continued to hold on to her hand and with his other hand, he gently placed it on her cheek like he would do to Arwen. As if wiping away tears, he used his thumb to caress her smooth cheek. He softly said,
Nayeli. Look at me. I need you just to calm down. Is that alright? ha, he was good at charming. His face turned as gentle as he would look towards Arwen. He could hear Osiris snarling at the red haired man, but he chose to ignore it. His eyes looked steadily at Nayeli, refusing to break eyecontact.

Only one man commands me, and he has my oath! If you are to command me, you must be my lord! I have been assigned to die for your Rider if that is what it takes to protect her! I receive nothing but the continued pallet in the stables and meal for this! In my experience, an extra sword, set of eyes, and set of ears is invaluable, no matter what you are doing! I have killed since I was ten, and each night, every man I have killed has haunted me. I will not leave. I shall do my best to protect your Rider, going as far as to die for her, if that is what it takes. But never, NEVER tell me to leave when I have been ordered to protect something. If you wish to command me, kill Pravus and continue to let me sleep in the stables and eat, and you shall have my oath, as The MacTire, a man, and an Alban. Convel ignored the angry dragon, emotionless male Rider, and emotional female Rider. He had a job to do. Clicking his tongue at Donas, Convel started circling the two motionless Riders, sword out and in hand. The area seemed clear, but living in a warrior culture where raids happened every hour, clans were constantly at each others throats, and the High King was plotting to dispose of the Clan Council had taught Convel, like all Alban warriors before him, that you can't ever be sure.
Sticking his sword into random bushes, punching trees, and generally making a racket, Convel circled them, allowing whatever might be about to kill them time to set it's eyes on him and not them. The dark gray of his kilt was contrasted by the red fuzz on Convel's legs and the red felt in the basket hilt of his sword. A disparage of dark, muted colors, and bright colors, Convel offered a tantalizing target to any wolves, mountain lions, bears, or other predators.
