Name: Arwen Adrianna Redfern
Age: Nineteen
Race: Part Elf and Part Human
Appearance: (playby: Natalie Dormer)
With a height of about 5'6, Arwen is considered a rather tall girl at her age. Her built is quite slim, but through her slim body she happens to be quite strong. She has long brown black hair that reaches to her waist. Her hair is slightly wavy, so it's not like a regular elf's hair. Her hair is not wispy, for she happens to have quite thick hair. Sometimes, it turns quite curly, other times it just happens to be curly. Arwen also happens to have a heart shaped face and a sly looking smile that she always seems to wear. Piercing blue eyes that are shadowed by her dark lashes are her signature eyes. Many may think she looks more like an elf than a human but she objects greatly. Arwen usually wears her signature light green tunic with a brown belt that is swung around her hips. She also wears dark green leggings and brown boots. At times, she wears brown arm warmers that go up to half her elbow. Under the tunic, she wears a white up to the elbow shirt. The leggings go up till her knee and then her boots go from knee down. Arwen finds these all comfortable, but on occasion on when she has to see the king, she wears a long dark blue gown that covers her shoulders. Truth be told, Arwen enjoys creating new designs for her own clothes.
What clothes, you may ask? She makes her own clothing and even though she stands out, she believes she looks much better than many other people. Sure, it looks wickedly funny, but on her it looks elegant.
Personality: Witty. Arwen happens to be blunt and quite sarcastic. Sure, Awren is kind but only to people she believes that deserve kindness. When it comes down all to fighting, she gets serious and usually is ruthless. Thus is why she is one of Galbortrix's number one warriors. She is nearly as good as Murtagh for she has been trained to kill. Arwen is a very nice person to be around and can be quite friendly. The only thing is that she's the one that usually approaches the person she wants to be friends with. Otherwise, she would already of known that person, such as Murtagh. Before, in her village she used to be quite popular.
Not now. She isn't as popular, for many believe that she's a very scary person though she really isn't. When Arwen gets angry, she looks very scary to be truthful for she just gives you a cheerful venomous smile before killing the person or giving them a blow. Arwen can be calm and can be quite joyful when she feels like it. She's also quite good at controlling her feelings. When she likes someone, she will not tell that person. Instead, she would use some way to show her love. Flirting is another good trait she's good at. Of course, if you happen to be her crush you'd better start running. Arwen doesn't let go of her prey very easily and when she does have a prey in her claws it turns nasty. Arwen will not stop bothering that particular person and will be sweet and almost scarily happy.
History: Arwen Adrianna Redfern was born sometime in February. It is unknown on where exactly she was born either. Nobody knows the exact date of when she was born, for she was dropped off by her father to the farm owner and his wife, Garrow and Marian. Arwen grew up to believe that she was born on the eighteenth of February. He, her real father, died later that night, so Garrow had told her. Nobdoy really knew where her mother was, but Arwen heard that some Urgals had invade their home and them killed her mother. Living with Eragon was like living with a younger brother. The two got close and shared many secrets. When Arwen grew older, Eragon began to take up the 'older brother' role and began to start looking tough when boys asked Arwen out. The girl, just a two years older, was of course annoyed at this and the incident on where Eragon had beat up a boy for cheating on Arwen was the first huge fight the two had. It was only a few days later that they both apologized to each other for being an 'idiot and a fool'. This incident happened only when they were fourteen and sixteen. Soon after Eragon's fifteenth birthday, Arwen sees that Eragon had found a blue rock like thing. She took care of it, of course. Arwen was there with Eragon when the rock transformed into an egg. A dragon's egg. It was then that she realized that she was able to communicate with dragons. Eragon rationalized that it was probably because she was part elf that she was able to do this. Arwen, confused and yet happy, began to bond with Saphira who was wary of Arwen at first before also loving Arwen. Because of Eragon and Arwen's close bond, Saphira had been slightly jealous and wasn't quite nice to Arwen in the beginning.
Things such as biting and scratching were seen when Arwen wasn't looking at Saphira. Arwen then asked, “What the hell is wrong with you, you stupid dragon!” Saphira then finally spat out her true feelings. Arwen, of course, was shocked and yet impressed at the dragon's fierce nature. Arwen made a pact with Saphira on how she would vow not to steal Eragon away from her. That seemed to calm the dragon down. When the dragon slowly got older, Saphira then told Arwen that she wanted her to protect Eragon as much as she could. Saphira disliked the idea of seeing another woman with Eragon and hated the image of a woman taking advantage of Eragon. It was then that Arwen and Saphira created another bond on how they were to both become a team in protecting Eragon, their loved one.
Flashforward to when they meet Murtagh. Arwen has learned a lot of sword fighting skills from Brom and is slowly beginning to learn about magic. As they were being attacked, Arwen did her best to protect Eragon more than trying to protect Brom. When understanding that Brom was gravely injured, she blamed herself for not looking after the old man. When tied up, she thought about what was going to happen to them. Arwen had also set up her mind on how she was going to fight until the end. She refused to believe that she was going to die tied up. She struggled as much as she could and was beat up quite a bit by the Ra'zaac. It was then that Arwen learned what the feeling of hate was. When Murtagh saved them, Arwen felt a huge gratitude towards the other boy. Sure, he was good looking but that didn't mean that Arwen fell for him immediately. Arwen was much deeper than that. She quickly became friends with the boy who at first wanted nothing to do with her. Slowly, he understood that all she wanted was a friend.
As the three became good friends, they also set out on an adventure together. When Eragon was captured, Arwen nearly cried. It was Murtagh that had comforted her and told her to be herself again. He understood that Arwen was a girl who didn't cry easily and he knew that she was a thinker. The three of them, Arwen, Murtagh and Saphira came up with a plan to rescue Eragon. With a battle that happens after Eragon is back with them, Arwen fights with some magic and with her sword she had gotten. During this time, she didn't have her dual blades yet. When escaping the bunch of monsters, Arwen then learns the name of the unconscious elf. Arya. Arwen did her best to care for the elf and was kind to her. Eragon, on the other hand, was quite protective over the elf. Arwen felt a slight annoyance for the elf later on for Eragon seemed to pay more attention to the elf than paying attention to everything else. She had said to him once, “Are you in love with Arya or something? Snap out of it and stop looking like an idiot.” Eragon had gotten upset with Arwen, of course, and the two got into another large fight. Murtagh had to get the two to talk to each other again with some persuading which the two proved difficult to persuade.
As they enter into the Varden, Arwen then learns that Murtagh is the son of Morzan. Arwen didn't quite care and even though everyone seemed to look surprised and automatically hostile, she stood up for him. She had even yelled, “Are you stupid? HE'S NOTHING LIKE HIS FATHER! STOP ACTING LIKE FOOLS! YOU DOLTS! LET HIM GO! You're the ones acting like his father! You don't even know him that well! He's on our side!” she was held back by Eragon. Arwen had nearly clawed someone's eye out for handling Murtagh roughly. The leader of the Varden was certainly displeased by Arwen's outburst. Because of her outburst, she landed herself in the same cell as Murtagh later that day. How, you may ask? She had strode right to him and slapped him in the face and called him a “huge big coward and a total idiot who's blind”. Eragon was unable to do a thing about it and later came to her cell to tell her that, “You're the idiot who decided to slap the guy who's about to help us and protect us.”
Arwen, of course, had to apologize and was let out of her cell the next day. She then finds out later that an attack is coming their way and asks if she may participate in this. He says yes and gives her the dual blades that were crafted by elves. She is also given a shield that she never really used for both her hands were quite occupied. Ajihad, the Varden leader, then also requested that she wore chainmail like the rest of the soilders. Arwen refused for she told him that, “Elves don't wear chainmail. I'm part elf, so the rule happens to work for me.” She had given him a smile and jumped into battle when the Urgals bashed through their defenses. Setting Murtagh free, she and Murtagh battled the numerous Urgals. She had kept an eye out for Eragon, as promised and when she had the chance, she took someone's bow and shot arrows at the Urgals that were heading towards Eragon. Arya then commented later that Arwen had potential with a bow and arrow and offered her lessons which Arwen gladly accepted.
Fastfoward to the part where Murtagh, the twins, and Arwen are kidnapped. The girl later learns that the kidnapping of her was a mistake. Because she had gotten into the fight, the Urgals capture her and Murtagh. She also learns that the twins were in the plan of capturing them. She begins a journal from the time she was kidnapped till she reaches the castle. It is then that the king summons her to his throne room. Unable to control her emotions, she bursts out that she is willing to join his team for she knows Eragon very well. He accepts this and appoints her a warrior and commands her to begin training with a man called Randal. Murtagh then comments on how “Why did you betray him like that? What kind of friend are you?” Arwen is hurt and unable to answer that. Murtagh, upset at her and yet relieved that she isn't dead, tells her that he is also to become a prisoner of the king. He is to become a warrior and a Rider.
After a few months of ruthless training and fighting with Murtagh, she is able to fight like an elf and (almost) speak like an elf. She is then commanded to go and search for the elven country. The king had suspected that the elves were still alive out there somewhere. A month later, after Thorn is about a teenaged dragon, Arwen sets out to find the elven city. Mind you, Arwen and Thorn are now really good friends and sometimes make fun of Murtagh just for fun now. Arwen finds the city and stays there for a week and fortunately, Eragon arrives at that time. Making an excuse up, she tells him that she had escaped their grasp and was traveling all this time, trying to find him again. She then tells them that she does not know if Murtagh is alive or not. Arwen, luckily, became the lady in waiting for the queen. Thus, giving her a greater advantage to spy on the elves. When told to go and practice her fighting, she was immediately rejected by many of the elves for many of them thought that she was too weak for an elf. Arwen was angry that they would think that way and trained with Eragon when she had the spare time. Slowly, she started reacting faster and was able to achieve the fighting of a real elf. Randal had thought she was good for he thought that she had achieved the speed of an elf. Well. He was wrong.
During this period of time, Arwen also was taught the ways of the elves which she very much disliked. Having to dress like an elf and to act like and elf was very uncomfortable and much to her displeasure, she even had to eat like an elf. Arwen had said once, “I feel like a bunny. I'm eating berries and grass everyday. God, can someone just give me some stake? I need my meat!” she had said that to nobody in particular, but Eragon had heard her. The two agreed on how annoying it was to not eat meat and were starving for meat. With being close to Eragon, she was sent a message that she was now to spy on Eragon. With some help of dark magic, she was able to talk to Murtagh in the water, face to face. During her bathing hours, she would quietly talk to Murtagh while taking a bath, updating him what she had seen that specific day. She, of course, felt horrible that she was doing this to her friend. Her brother! So, when she had the time, she would always hug Eragon and stay as close to him as possible. Arwen also felt annoyed at the fact that Eragon had begun to take a special interest in Arya. In order to get him back, she tried even seducing him. Gross, right? Arwen didn't quite care if she acted like a whore for she cared deeply for Eragon. If he was in love with Arya, Arwen knew that it was going to be trouble.
Eragon did share a kiss with Arwen in the end, but the both of them agreed that they would never speak of it again. It was way too awkward and she had convinced him that it was probably because she missed him too much that she wanted to always be with him. Well, anyways. Arwen let things flow and obviously Eragon got hurt by Arya who broke his heart later on after he looked more like an elf. Arwen had comforted him on that day and told him the just give her up. An excerpt from her journal was, “I hoped that he would just let go of her, but I could still see that he was madly in lover with her for some unknown reason. Those two are so not meant for each other.”
Skip towards the battle where Arwen uses her swords to battle off the enemies of the Varden. As soon as she sees Thorn, she switches sides immediately. Using some ancient language to her advantage, she blew a few elves away, letting them crash into each other while she fought her way through towards the taller hill. Where was she heading? Towards Murtagh, of course. Once reaching there, she was filled with dread. This was the time to reveal what really happened. Murtagh had been explaining to Eragon what was happening and exactly at that perfect moment, Arwen had decided to show up. Murtagh was smirking at her while Eragon's face was filled with pain. Arwen apologized ruthlessly, while crying. Eragon told her, “Arwen. Don't go with him. Stay with me. Please.” he had begged her. Saphira was raging at her, growling while Thorn protected Arwen from the other dragon. Arwen had only shook her head and had walked over to Murtagh. “Sorry. I'm really sorry. I have to go back. If not...I'll die.” she quietly said. Eragon had shouted at her, “Die then! It's better than working with the king!” Thorn had snarled at him and Murtagh had answered for Arwen,
“Her life is important to me and Thorn. We are all bound together. I will not allow her to die.” Arwen had closed her eyes and had refused to look at the furious Eragon. In a small voice, she had said once more, “I really love you, Eragon. I'm so sorry. I hope you can forgive me one day.”
Now, she's back in the Empire, doing whatever the king wants her to do. Currently, she's been sent to assassinate people the king wants dead. She and Murtagh are still friends and they live near each other. Their rooms are right beside each other. They still talk about Eragon, but barely. Murtagh is more focused on his work while Arwen is usually away from the castle, killing people.
