Lynette stepped into the clearing, the bottom of her furry boots crunching the snow. The very weak, white sunlight fell onto the snow, illuminating it with a slight silver glow. There was no piercing cold wind or flurry of snowflakes, which relieved Lynette. For days she had been walking past fierce winds and tiny snowflakes, though each one that hit her face felt like a punch from an enemy. The light hit her face, giving her already pale face an even She loosened her grip on her cloak and looked up into the light with a bright blue gaze. Lynette stepped further into the deep snow. She carefully took off her cloak, and dropped it on the the snow. She lifted the handle of her shoulder bag and dropped it on top of the cloak. Lynette felt surprised that she wasn't cold. She was only wearing a blue shirt that matched her eyes, and a thin, hand-knitted sweater.
Lynette stepped directly onto the place where the patch of sunlight had rested, on the snow. She laid herself down onto the snow, forcing her face to look up. She never knew how much exactly she loved peace and quiet, as she was used to the other city sounds of Uru'baen. She kept thinking, not even realizing a black shadow in the forest behind her.
