Brecan stood in the greatest city in the World, Uru'Baen, he had been in the city for just over three months now and served as one of many guards that were to protect the great city from the Varden and The Elves. For his loyal service he was made a Captain and had been sending more money to his family than they had ever made and although he would rather be by his mothers and sisters side he knew that he was doing the right thing and his uncle would look after them until he returned to their little farm in their little village when the rebellion was over and done with and all of the Emprie was returned to the rule of the King and the governors. He wore the black and red uniform of the king's men with a sword attached to his back and a spear in his right hand. He wore a helmet in the shape of a Dragon denoting his rank and privilege he moved through the city making sure nothing was a miss.
He knew many of the citizens of Uru'Baen approved of what the Varden were doing and he agreed with them on some level. He did not like the King and knew he was a Corrupt man who brought about the end of thousands of years of peace for his rule. But he also knew the empire had never done anything to him and his family had never been affected so it never really bothered him. And now he was making so much money his family would never have to go hungry. People showed him a certain respect as he was one of the men who protected not just the city but the citizens inside it's massive walls he liked the respect they gave him but never took advantage of it as others did.
It was raining heavily where he stood and he was drenched through the citizens however would not leave as it was market day and people were selling their products and buying what they needed to survive. It reminded him of the Market back in his village, though it was quite a bit smaller as few people could afford to give away their own food and valuables, he smiled and continued to walk on. He turned to an older looking man who was selling fruit Breccan inspected the samples and chose a green apple he picked it up, payed the man, and went on his way before taking a large bite of the juicy fruit. Were he came from fruit was a privilege for holidays and such but now he could simply eat it whenever he wished.
