(I would like him to be a shade, if possible, and if the admin is kind enough to grant my humbled request. Otherwise, I suppose he would be human... A strange one mind you...)
Name: Umbra
Age: Unknown... Looks to be about his early twenties
Race: Shade
Appearance: About 5-10, garbed in pitch black robes and cloak, his hood is always up, and only a small bit of blood red hair pokes from underneath it's veils. He has leather gloves and boots on, so what little deathly pale skin can be seen is around the bottom of his face, where he always has that eerie, knowing grin full of sharp teeth. He also carries a small pig skin pack with a strange assortment of belongings, as well as a very well crafted broad sword that seems to be of dwarven origin.
Personality: A very strange, eccentric being, certainly not something expected of a shade. Umbra seems to show a talkative, inquisitive, slightly mysterious, and even cryptic behavior and words to those who meet him. He seems to be the embodiment of neutrality, never taking part in anything(including the war), unless it concerns him directly. He can also be exceptionally rude, as well as exceptionally wise. His whole being is shrouded in mystery, and he seems to be seeking something... Or someone... What that happens to be in the land of Alagaesia is anyone else's guess...
History: Umbra was once one being... A being named Cal, who was a poor farmerboy living in a small village not too far from the Spine. At an incredibly young age, Cal showed exceptional abilities in the Ancient Language for a human and as one young as he was, a mere child. Without knowledge of how he really did it in fact... He just seemed to have a natural ability for it... Of course, it was only a matter of time before his superstitious village found out about the gift... And only a matter of time before an accident came out of such powers unchecked... Getting extremely angry at another young boy, Cal unwittingly killed him in public by setting him on fire. Such news attacted the servants of Galbatorix, who took Cal in as part of a training program of young mages for the dark lord's army. With it, Cal grew ruthless and cruel, a powerful being that ended up becoming one of the top mages of his order... One day, a rival of Cal and his servants underwent the ritual to become a shade. Cal managed to interrupt it in time, but in doing so... Became the shade himself... And seemingly a whole different being... A being known as Umbra. Escaping the clutches of Galbatorix, Umbra now wanders the continent of Alagaesia, avoiding the Varden when he can as well as the armies of Galbatorix... Yet at the same time, he seems to seek something... And certain people out...
Roleplaying example: It was hot out in the deserts of Hadarac... The sun blazed wickedly, devouring the moisture in the air, leaving the air stagnant with it's dry breath. It was the very peak of the day, when the sun was highest and the day was the hottest. Very few were crazy enough to wander in such a desolate wasteland... Except one figure... Shimmering in the distance from the heat wave, one could see it... It's boots crunshing into the soft, yet rough sand, its cloak billowing in the dry, lifeless wind... And underneath the hood it wore... Two points of glowing silver light...
