Name: Kunnandi
Age: N/A
Appearance:
Kunna—when matured—is a tall and lean dragon. His body resembles that of a hound dog, gracing him with hidden muscles and great agility. His wings span 14 feet and he stands at 8 feet tall. He is mainly a silver colour but has blue: horns, wings, talons, chest/underbelly, and blue scales down his back. With bright green eyes, he believes it further proves his compatibility with Mali as they match her eyes. His snout is long and distinguished, allowing him to look innocent and gentle. However, his lips pull back to show his sharp teeth, also allowing him to be fierce as well as gentle.
As a hatchling, Kunna looks like an adorable ball of scales. With short, chubby legs, a chubby stub for a tail, a round face and a short neck, he is a little bigger than an average, full-grown house cat. With many facial expressions, Kunna is always a surprise. He can mask his emotions from others, but can’t hide his feelings when with Mali. When concerned, worried, or anxious, when it comes to Mali’s well-being, all facades disappear.
Personality:
Kunnandi means knowledge, something that his rider doesn’t have. As he matures, Kunna tries to provide answers to Mali’s questions. Sharing in her curiosity, he also asks many questions. Kunna finds delight in learning new things and strives to find more answers to their questions.
Kunna is a very playful dragon. He is always playing games with Mali. Though he tends to only play his games with her, he is still friendly and carefree with others. He is very young at heart. He is always energetic and the life of a party. He picks up on Mali’s bad habits, which he is trying to get her to stop doing, so that he can stop picking up on them.
When it comes to things of importance, Kunna has a will of his own to protect it. He will fight to protect anything that he deems important. Mali is, above all, his most important person and item. He will do anything to make sure that she is safe. He can be very serious when the time comes. Even though he is mostly fun and games, he does know when to stop.
Kunnandi isn’t easily angered. He remains carefree and playful unless you hit a sensitive spot. If harm is inflicted on Mali, you go in his bad books.
History:
Kunna was laid in a normal setting. His family was hiding away from the elves and humans in the Spine. However, soon after he was laid, he was orphaned. His parents were killed by locals in the closest town. They sought glory and believed they would get it by killing them. His egg was left in the mountains for a few years until it was found by a couple of Varden elves. After safely taking the egg back to their egg chamber, it sat there for about 30 years.
Many people came into the egg chamber, none of which had what he needed. To be bonded whom he chose was the reason that he waited so long. Kunna needed someone sympathetic, someone separate from everyone else.
When Mali walked into the egg chamber, it wasn’t for her own benefit. Other people entered because they had hopes of gaining a dragon, becoming a rider and gaining glory and recognition. Mali had entered the egg chamber out of pure curiosity. Having no intentions of glory or recognition, she picked up his egg and sniffed it.
Running through her history, he felt a connection between them. Having both been left by their parents, he felt that she would be able to understand his needs. As he ran through her thoughts, her feelings and her personality, he decided that he didn’t care about her being a magical creature. It was because of this that helped her. The lack of knowledge about what she was and what she was capable of made her seem humble to him. It wasn’t that she was ignorant of these facts; it was that she had never been taught what she was or what to do.
As Mali hugged the egg, finding the old, odd shaped item strangely warm, it hatched. At first, she thought that she broke it, which only caused him to like her even more. Kunna knew that she was rider that he needed. He needed a “sister” to protect and love him as their own, and who better than a ‘Mama cat’?
