Leader Nasuada - - - - - - - - - - The days, it had gotten hotter and I was pretty much tired of that hot sun. I had taken to wearing things I normally never wore. I had taken to wearing thinner clothing, such as a long sleeve shirt, which was very thin and a nice skirt which was only one layer and held a slit up both sides to allow me to ride. I then wore a pair of shorts so I did not have to worry about men. My sword was on my hip, as normal, and my daggers were also there, instead of hidden on my body...
I needed a day off, away from everything and everyone. The days were just too hot and I needed to just get away. Stress was building, new dragon riders had come, or so I had heard and I just needed to figure out what I was going to do. Arya was somewhere around here and Eragon also, who knew where he was. Turin was Teirm, or somewhere up that way doing business for myself. I was happy everything was calm, but it was always calm before the storm and I did not need that storm... Not right now.
I walked around the court yard for a little while, sometimes sitting here and sometimes sitting there. This place was open to the public, but not many came around here since it was the King's and they left him alone. The Kulls were sitting just to my left, about 20 yards and the others were just relaxing for a chance.

Kano trudged through the city, large pack strapped to his back filled with the first shipment of tools for the Varden. Swords spelled to withstand blow after blow and made a harder steel than what was originally possible. It almost had the strength of a rider's sword. All in all, they were going to be useful weapons. He approached Nasuada's tent as usual, the Kull guards stopping him to announce his arrival to her. Kano never minded the Kull, but that didn't mean he loved them either. He could tolerate their presence.
He had dressed himself in decent clothing for this encounter, wearing an olive green tunic and pants that had pockets he had sewn onto them for holding any various amounts of items. Kano had forgone his cloak since Summer was finally setting in on Surda, and Surda was a literal savannah, even in the fall and winter seasons. But he was used to it. He was a desert rat, used to fighting in the extreme climates, and knowing how to survive them as well.
The Kull walked in and saluted Lady Nasuada. "Lady Nightstalker... There is a swordsmith here with a delivery for the army. Shall he be admitted?"

Even though the day was just getting longer, it did not matter, I still hard to work as the Leader of the Varden and it did not matter what all I had to do. I was still having to battle the heat, but at least in the court yard it was a little cooler. I looked at the guards as they tried to fight the heat also, some were already sitting down, which I did not mind at all, I was okay with that. But I needed to go to the Army sooner or later, but right now I wanted to relax some more.
I looked up as someone seemed to catch the main Kulls attention and he came over to me for a moment, the guys standing to block his way. I looked around for a moment and then stood to greet the Kull. "Lady Nightstalker... There is a swordsmith here with a delivery for the army. Shall he be admitted?" I nodded, allowing him to give permission for entrance in the court yard. He turned and gave the permission and I folded my arms.
"How can I help you?"
I asked as he came over to me and I looked at him. I knew it was for the Army, but he could of gone to one of the other head guys, but he did not, he came to me. What was so important that he came to me. Color CodeLeader Nasuada - E3E086[/blockquote]

"How can I help you?" Kano approached and bowed before he took his pack off his back, opening it up and pulling a core out. "Yes, M'lady. I would have gone to the generals first, but I figured I'd tell you of this first, since this will greatly reduce the casualty rates." He said as he opened the bundle, laying the swords out on the table. Each one was given a deep purple sheath, he selected one out of the many and unsheathed it. "These blades have been made in a method never before used. The steel is harder than any other sword except for a rider's and yet is still flexible. My apprentice helped me by putting a spell on the blade while it was still hot so that way it will greater resist damage, but it is in no way a rider's sword. It will still take damage, but it will not snap or dull as quickly as the other blades." He said, showing the blued steel. The edge was razor sharp, a very fine edge. Kano could have used it for shaving.
"However, these are few. I only have enough to arm a battalion of soldiers, so I suggest creating an elite band of men who haven't been killed in action yet to arm them with these." He added as he bowed to her and moved away sightly from the swords.

I nodded to him as he came forward and I could not help but get slightly annoyed. I did not like it when people bowed to me. I was not a Princess or Queen, I was merely someone who was leading a group of people who believed in something much much different then the empire. "Yes, M'lady. I would have gone to the generals first, but I figured I'd tell you of this first, since this will greatly reduce the casualty rates." I was interested now and I drew my Guard closer slightly.
"Please, show me."
I watched as he placed the swords before me on a table that had been brought out to the court yard for me, the sun shining down on me. The purple sheath was very interesting. He took the blade and I smiled at it as he pulled it out. "These blades have been made in a method never before used. The steel is harder than any other sword except for a rider's and yet is still flexible. My apprentice helped me by putting a spell on the blade while it was still hot so that way it will greater resist damage, but it is in no way a rider's sword. It will still take damage, but it will not snap or dull as quickly as the other blades." I was very interested this blade and took it from his hand, looking over it with my own eyes. The blade was razor sharp and I knew I wanted one for myself, but at the same time, I knew this was meant for something more then a leader, but I had to ask. "However, these are few. I only have enough to arm a battalion of soldiers, so I suggest creating an elite band of men who haven't been killed in action yet to arm them with these." I allowed my finger to run over the blue steel and then held it up to the sun. "It is very nice, now, how many to you truly have, I would like to have one myself since I also go into battle," I said as I looked back at him for a moment, one of the human guards coming up, along with a elf to look over the sword. The elf was even impressed! Color CodeLeader Nasuada - E3E086[/blockquote]

"It is very nice, now, how many to you truly have, I would like to have one myself since I also go into battle," "Of course, I made one extra specifically for that purpose. There are twenty six in all here." He said looking at them. "In addition to these, I also bring news of new weapons that I am making. These will be more for close combat, and they will be able to rip through chain mail like a hot knife through butter." He said with a grin.
As he watched the recipients approach, he saw an elf, obviously amazed at it. He was proud of his work, but that did not stop him from aspiring to bigger and better things. "M'lady. I make weapons for one reason and one reason only: the better the weapons, the less people will die on our side. It is a necessity if we are to get that tyrant out of Uru'baen.

I was looking at the weapon with prime interest, trying to think of a way to get a group of men and women together to take control of these weapons. The elves had their own perfect weapons, these would only be meant for humans, since Kulls and Urgals held clubs and Dwarves held shorter swords. I started to think, trying to make my ideas as erased from my face as I could, of course, my face only held contentment as I moved it in my hand, allowing my fingers to adjust to it.
I had asked about a weapon for myself and I waited to hear his response. "Of course, I made one extra specifically for that purpose. There are twenty six in all here." I nodded, holding the weapon gently in my own hand and then motioning for the others to place the weapons down so that I could look at them all side by side. "In addition to these, I also bring news of new weapons that I am making. These will be more for close combat, and they will be able to rip through chain mail like a hot knife through butter." I looked at him for a moment, thinking about everything he had said. This would all work perfectly and I liked the thoughts and ideas that was coming from him.
"Hmmm... Very nice... It will take many weeks, if not months of training to find the right people to hold these weapons,"
I would need to contact Eragon and the other riders and have the people come and train with and before them, they would be the ones I would want judgment from. The elf looked at me for a moment. "What do yo think, Palor?" He looked at me for just a moment and then placed the weapon down. "You can tell that this was made by human hands, but it was made with great care and precision," I nodded and waited for him to continue. "It is nothing like that of a elf sword, but it is something that I would only allow certain people to hold... I suggest having a match and only allowing 15 people to carry these swords, but leave a Extra ten in case we need them, no need to give them all away so quickly." I nodded, agreeing with him completely. I looked back at Kano for a moment and then back at the sword I held. 15 people to hold these sword, I held one, making 16 in use, but ten to be locked away and only brought out when we need more warriors to hold one of these swords. "M'lady. I make weapons for one reason and one reason only: the better the weapons, the less people will die on our side. It is a necessity if we are to get that tyrant out of Uru'baen." I nodded to him. "Your swords are made beautifully." My voice showed true awe as I looked at the weapon. Color CodeLeader Nasuada - E3E086[/blockquote]

"Your swords are made beautifully." Kano bowed. "Thank you, Lady Nasuada." He said as he rose from his bow. "If you'd like, I could demonstrate just how strong these blades really are." He said smiling. He wanted to show just how well these were really going to work. After all, a trial run was always the best thing when accepting any tools, especially revolutionary, cutting edge tools.
Kano was innovative with his forging style, and creative when it came to tools of destruction. His next weapon would be much more deadly at a close range, but still, with armor being able to keep arrows away, the next set of weapons would be the most terrifying close-range weapon the battlefield would see.

"Thank you, Lady Nasuada." I nodded slightly as I once again looked at the blade in my hand. The steel shimmered in a beauty that was deadly to think about it. I could only image in the blood that would be upon this weapon soon, the warm red liquid that would liter the ground due to these weapons. I wondered what other things this man could make, possible daggers with the same form of make, so that assassins could get in and kill without problems.
"Sir, how would you feel if I asked you to make daggers just like this, for assassins and such." I looked at him for a mere moment and then also at Palor, my elf friend who seemed also very interested in the idea. I knew of a few people who would work perfectly with blades such as these and I did not need such blades, though I would not mind having some just like the blade that rested in my light grip.
"If you'd like, I could demonstrate just how strong these blades really are." I looked at him for just a moment and motioned for everyone to give him room. I motioned that he had the floor and I set back slightly, the main Kull who protected me was right behind me, his club resting in his own hand. I knew that he was highly protective of me and he possible thought this was a trick, but I was calm and he was calm.
"Please, take the floor."
I said, waiting to see what this blade could do in the hands of the right kind of killer. I was going to enjoy this myself, I did not mind watching at all, in fact, it was something that I would most gratefully enjoy. Color CodeLeader Nasuada - E3E086[/blockquote]

"Sir, how would you feel if I asked you to make daggers just like this, for assassins and such." Kano smiled. "I am three steps ahead of you." He replied, moving what seemed to just be a hilt from his bag as well, setting it on the table for her to see. "I'll show that after this." He added before she spoke again. "Please, take the floor." He did as he was told, taking the floor. He had several iron blocks set up, as well as a steel plate which was the same thickness as the plate armor some soldiers wore. By far the toughest challenge he would face. He moved his bag out of the way, but didn't take a sword off the table, he had his own. He smiled.
Three Iron pillars, and a sheet. He drew his blade, which he had made for himself. The edge was a hand and a half sword missing half an edge on one side. It was designed that way on purpose, allowing Kano to guard downward slashes by supporting the weight underneath the blade. As he took his stance, he looked between them and charged, slashing one way, then another, cutting two of the pillars in half, as if the iron was made of butter. There was but sparks that flew from it, the blade intact. He turned around and cut the third in half with a downward stroke, but then turned to dash towards the plate, thrusting the blade through it, then carving upwards to tear it in half almost. Kano checked the edge afterwards, it would not need any repairs. "The blade is intact." He said calmly, sheathing the blade.

"I am three steps ahead of you." I smiled, that was good, I needed someone to know what I was thinking sometimes and this men knew a lot already. The kull behind me touched my shoulder for a moment and I glanced around. He was a bit unease with the fact the man held a sword and was showing off the skill. I touched his hand in reassurance. "I'll show that after this." I watched as he removed another back and then went out and set up some iron blocks. I smiled, also as he put up a steel plate that many of the empire people had. I watched as he stood ready, removing his own sword and looking at the three blocks and sheet. It was slightly smaller then the others, but I just watched him.
His stance showed he knew what he was doing and then he charged, moving his sword quickly and cutting two pillars in half, as if it were made of something less then iron. I was impressed... Highly impressed. Sparks flew but I did not jump, just watched in interest. He cut the other and then went to the plate, stabbing it and tearing upwards. I clapped when he was finished, my clap being the only one. "The blade is intact."
I smiled, stepping forward and looking at the iron destruction. "Your skill is shown well and these blades show their worth."
I said, looking at the blade that was still in my hand. The most elite would only hold these swords and I will be sure that all who wish to become the elite had a chance of holding one of these swords. Color CodeLeader Nasuada - E3E086[/blockquote]

"Your skill is shown well and these blades show their worth." Kano bowed and sheathed his blade. "Thank you. Now, for the daggers." He said smiling. He picked up what looked only like the hilt, but he smiled. "Looks like just a hilt, easilly concealable and unsuspicious to begin with, but then." It was then he pulled a small switch on the side, the blade flicking out without a sound in a heartbeat. He smiled, closing the blade again before setting it on the table. "I have a few of those, but they take a long time to make, mostly because of the spring mechanisms inside." He added, looking down before pulling what looked like a gauntlet out of the bag. "And these." He spoke calmly. "Are the prototypes of the knives I was designing." He said. They had blades where the fists were. He pulled a small lever in the glove and the seemingly singular blades split into three. "With these, I can catch an opponent's sword, rip it from them, then tear through their chain mail to kill them." He said before closing the blades.

I smiled as he bowed, again, a bit annoyed, but I was going to have to get over the thought. I did not need a bow each time he did something. "Thank you. Now, for the daggers." I looked at him, even more interested then I was in the blade. As he removed the object, it just looked like a normal hilt with no blade.
I was confused, slightly dumbfound for a moment. "Looks like just a hilt, easilly concealable and unsuspicious to begin with, but then." I jumped slightly when the blade popped out, the Kull behind me touching my back as I moved away from the blade, but then moved forward to look at it. After he closed the blade I took it from him, looking at it and even spring it out. "I have a few of those, but they take a long time to make, mostly because of the spring mechanisms inside." I nodded.
"Another elite group of assassin could hold these... I will have to hold a contest here to see who gets them and then before I give them have each of them searched mentally to make sure they do not work for the king."
I knew I had to be careful, I was not stupid and I did not mind doing it, if it was for the right cause. I knew the Twin Lamps had given the idea a bad name when they got information for the King, but that was a while ago and I knew I had a better group of people. I returned the dagger, thinking of a way to get the word out so that not everyone came to see the daggers and swords. "And these." I turned my head to another thing that he pulled from his stash. "Are the prototypes of the knives I was designing." I moved forward slightly, seeing that they held a blade in a glove. I was even more impressed, another simple way to hid something. "With these, I can catch an opponent's sword, rip it from them, then tear through their chain mail to kill them." I nodded. "These are beyond fantastic... You would not mind staying around in order to show these to the men and women I chose to weld them later on, I must to a intense search, but I can set you up a place to work." I said, looking at him for a moment and waiting for his answer. It would take many months of searching for the right warriors and assassins to hold such objects. "I would also like these, I think they may come in handy for when I am in battle." The word battle made by Guards slightly tense, knowing that I enjoyed the heat of the battle did not go in very often because I was the leader and needed to be protected. Kano waited while Lady Nasuada inspected the weapons. "These are beyond fantastic... You would not mind staying around in order to show these to the men and women I chose to weld them later on, I must to a intense search, but I can set you up a place to work." Kano nodded. "I do not mind. In fact, I could probably move here to Aberon instead of having my forge in Feinster, but of course, that would be in the future. As for now, I will stay." He replied to her. He was thrilled that his weapons were going to be of use amongst the elite of soldiers and of assasins. "You honor me too much, m'lady." Kano added, smiling. "I just do what I have to to make sure that more Varden soldiers don't die. Being better equipped helps that."
He put the prototype gauntlet daggers away and smiled. "Hopefully by the time I get back to Feinster, my apprentice will be back with the raw materials I need." He said calmly.
