Shocked. Everything changed when she sniffed that large egg. Who would have known that giant lizards needed to be so heavily guarded? She had met creatures before, lizards for sure. They were fun to chase around in her feline form. It was just so amusing to paw at lizards when she had a mind like a cat. However, to think that a giant lizard, something they called a dragon, belonged to you. All she had done was sniffed the egg! She had been curious as to what was inside. She hadn’t expected a dragon to come out! She had been briefed on what this meant and what she had to do now. At least she had a place to stay. This city, Aberon, could now be considered her new home. The thought excited her. She had never had a real home before. Of course, it would be hard, this new life she had, but she was excited to live with it. Maybe now she would better find out what she was, since she had so much more information available.
Mali currently walked beside her silver dragon. She was in her feline form and was glad that this seemed to please her dragon. He was very energetic, something that she liked in him. As long as she was closer to his size, they could even play fight. She had never play fought a dragon before. Now she had one of her own. She felt protective over the silver lizard. It shocked her, as she had never been protective over much in her life. As she entered the Borromeo courtyard, she noticed how many people there were. Afraid that they would be trampled, she shifted into her ‘human form’, her tail twitching back and forth, as she bent down. She also had to admit that it shocked her how little Kunnandi weighed. The initial shock of the egg hatching in her hands had been enough to make her jump back. However, the connection to the lizard made her wary. She had never had someone so connected to her mind before. When thinking of names Kunnandi seemed to make him eager, that also made her curious. How did he already know what he wanted his name to be? She didn’t even know what it meant.
Walking over to a bench, she sat down, running her hand down Kunna’s neck, she glanced up. People were staring at her funny. She didn’t like it. People always looked at her funny, that’s why she didn’t like to show her ears or tail too often. She had been told that she didn’t need to hide her identity here. No one here would harm her, so there was nothing to fear. That brought great relief to her, but it didn’t mean that they wouldn’t look at her funny. She felt anxious and nervous. Lowering her head, she felt the tug in the back of her mind. Kunna was looking up at her and his green eyes were gentle. He was concerned for her. Mali felt warmth in the back of her mind. He was trying to comfort her. Smiling, she had to admit that after all the shock, having a dragon wasn’t that bad. Now she didn’t have to be the lonely outcast. She now had Kunna to be an outcast with her.
Looking up, she watched the people again. Sighing, she wondered if she would make any new friends in her new life.

Hmmm... Summer... Possible the worst time of year of them all and I truly hated it. I glanced around under my hood, this place was beyond my belief, but I was here. The large, black Frisian, Saxon, walked beneath me as I moved through the large streets. Not many people looked at me, which was good since I did not like being looked at. The large bay behind us moved at a very good pace, even though I knew Nixon was not in the best of conditions, he was very reliable as a work horse and he still had a lot of years on him.
I moved into the next street, turning the horses to go up closer to the castle that loomed over everything. I really wanted to see the castle, I had never seen one, had been content into moving as far from the empire castle as I could and avoiding all of the cities, both major and minor. I had done a pretty fair job is I said so myself. Hmmm, this place is better then I imagined.
I thought to myself as I moved past a group of women talking and laughing until I glanced at him. My arms were bare for the most part, a tank top covered my turso, leaving my arms completely out in the open to poke through my cloak as I moved, the leather piece wrapped around the arm I use when I hold the bow and arrow. I nudge Saxon to continue forward, since he had slowed down and I looked around for just a mere moment. I glanced around for just a moment and then looked back ahead, wondering where I needed to go. My boots hit into his side, though they were mostly covered from the flare in my pants. A few men looked my way since my body shown from from the front. I knew I was pleasing to the men and I knew a few men who were pleasing to my eye, but I doubted any of them would come near me long enough to even touch me. The castle was just up the street and it was guarded heavily, but I just smiled and moved the horses as close to the side as I could. I dismounted Saxon and looked around, checking my daggers and making sure the clips on my saddle held my bow and arrows without a problem. Nixon came up along the side of Saxon and both looked at him. "Stay you two, no need to wonder off." I knew they would stay though, their training was beyond the best. I turned towards the castle and went between the two guards with ease, removing my hood. My right cheek showing the ugly knife scar that I was left with. A few men looked my way and a few women also, I just smiled, my ice blue eyes looking around until they landed on the most beautiful creature in the world... A silver dragon! People were still staring at her. She hated to be stared at. She would just get up and leave but the day was lovely. She wished that she could just curl up in the sunlight and go to sleep. However, she had to watch Kunna. She had to make sure that he didn’t wander off or get taken by anyone. She didn’t think that anyone would try to take a dragon, but you never could tell. Even with the assured safety towards her identity, she couldn’t be sure whether she could completely trust these people. There had been a bombing a while back, or so the gossip said. That had happened at a peace summit. Whatever a summit is, it had the word peace in it. Bombs and peace do not go good together.
Kunna looked over across the courtyard, Mali’s eyes following his. It was just another person staring at her. She paid no more attention and looked away. The woman didn’t catch her curiosity and she hadn’t done anything to catch it either. She was just staring at her. Like everyone else in the courtyard, that probably just meant that she thought Mali odd or that they were looking at Kunna. So what, nothing was going to happen.
Brushing that thought aside, Mali’s hands continued to pet Kunna. He looked up at her, trying to imitate a purr. Mali was amused. Kunna was trying to imitate a cat, it was funny.
OOC (sorry, but that was really hard to work with. With the type of character Mali is, she isn’t the type to just get up and start talking to random strangers unless there was a reason. And Shayna is just staring at her, like everyone else in the courtyard. Nothing too noteworthy =/ I’m really sorry if it’s hard to work with, but I don’t know what to say and I don’t want to do something that isn’t Mali –like)

I did notice that a lot of people were staring at the dragon and it's rider and as I glanced up, I noticed that there was a pretty odd reason. His rider was a Werecat, one of the best things in the world, or well, the best kind of people... If that is what you wanted to call the creature. I held no reasons to stare, but I did for one moment and caught her look over at me, I looked away for just a moment. I looked away at that moment, no reason to stare, so I didn't stare. I walked towards some people, mostly to ask them a question, but it slipped my mind as I made it up to them. "Can we help you?" Now, people were looking at me, most glanced to my cheek first, the ugly scar that showed was my own reminder of the first battle I had been in, the battle that killed my father... Or the battle with the men who killed my father.
"Yes, I was hoping to talk to the Leader of the Varden, Nasuada?"
They looked at me for a moment and I wanted to hit them at that point. Not slap, literally hit them. They were looking at me as if I was something stupid and something that was not worthy of their time. I waited, crossing my arms, the dagger at my waist glistened at the sun rays and I looked deeply into their own eyes, showing that I held no fear or anything. "Well? Are you going to get her or am I going to have to wait for her?" I did not know who these people were, but they were beginning to really piss me off. I was starting to think I had better just enter the castle, but I knew that would lead to my certain death. I allowed my eye to glance back at the dragon and it's rider and I smiled. I wished so much to be a rider, but I knew that I would possible never be able to. I growled at the thought and then returned my eyes back to the people before me. "I'm sorry ma'am... Your reason." I looked at them, being careful not to do to much about the situation. I looked at them for just another moment and then rolled her eyes. "You know what... Forget I asked... I guess that y'all don't need anyone for transport." I pushed pass them, towards the entrance, letting a sharp whistle come from my lips, looking back at the dragon. I turned and walked over towards the rider and dragon, bowed before them for a moment and looked back at her. "I'm sorry to bother you Dragon Rider, but I was hoping maybe you could take a message to Nasuada, I'm sure you see her..." I hated to bother the dragon rider, the sound of some yelling came as both the horses trotted through the entrance and came up behind me. " Sin é an cac! dúradh liom le mo ualach a thabhairt chuig an áit seo, agus ta / a íocadh é! Seo mé, agus nach bhfuil tú lena gceadaítear dom a fháil íocadh! Beidh mé ag gearradh do liathróidí amach agus iad a dhingeadh síos do scornach! Abair go dom arís, agus ní bheidh ort a scornach chlé ar son do liathróidí a bheith crammed síos! I swear by all I hold holy, if ye dinnae let me see the man that wrote this, I shall leave ye for dead in a ditch somewhere, with flies coming out of your ears and maggots in your eyes, ye misbegotten son of a pox-ridden whore!" Reverting back to his Gaelic, Convel MacTire proceeded to berate the poor guard who had intercepted him and his delivery of liquor, namely three casks of brandy wine, and five of whiskey. Shaking a rain stained, tattered piece of paper in front of the nose of the guard one last time, Convel turned and stalked off, red in the face and muttered words of Gaelic drifting over the air. Kilt swing around his knees, he looked around for moment and saw the glistening of sliver of the silver dragon and it's female Rider. She somehow seemed familiar. And then it hit the tall, flaming man. She was Mali. Glaring like a demon back over his shoulder at the semi-frightened guard, he shrugged with something had characterized all Albans since the beginning of time, and strode forward to the dragon, intending to pay his respects to the lass and her wee dragon. ~*~ Tartan today: www.macrae.org/images/tartan_hunting_modern.jpg

Kano walked the streets of Aberon after his meeting with Lady Nasuada. He sighed. His craftsmanship had been accepted. He walked silently, cloak slung over his shoulder. It was warm enough for him not to need it. Suddenly he stopped and looked down, having not seen the silver dragon or the werecat on the ground talking with the woman. He blinked a bit startled, stopping dead in his tracks. He realized then that he had not been paying attention to where he had been going."Oh....Hello." he said calmly, hoping he wasn't interrupting anything, glancing back and forth between the rider and woman. However, his focus remained on the rider. He had only seen a rider once, and that rider had saved his hide from being captured. Kano opened his letters pouch. It wasn't every day he ran into a werecat, and he remembered Andraste sending him a letter about a werecat girl.
Kano was clad in his cargo pants along with his sleeveless shirt and the same kind of bag that Andraste had been carrying around with her. He used it to carry his metalwork in, but it was large enough to hold several changes of clothes as well. He was in a good mood today, his work, even though well outclassed by elven make, was complemented by an elf, as well as Nasuada. He was glad to be of service to the Varden in this time of great need. While the Empire was fighting the plague, the Varden were strengthening their arsenal and working heavilly to better arm their soldiers. And Kano was at the head of that process, innovating new techniques to kill.

Mali was shocked. Again, shock, this seemed to plague her emotions often. It was Convel! What he was doing here she wasn’t sure, but it was her good friend. She watched him from across the courtyard, smiling over to him. This was going to be fun. She hadn’t seen her friend for weeks now. She wondered what he had been up to lately. She hoped he hadn’t gotten himself into too much trouble since departing. Her thoughts were interrupted when a woman bowed to her. It was the one that had been staring at Kunna. His eyes turned to look at her, the green orbs searching her over. Wanted to deliver a message to Nasuada? Oh wait a moment, that was that one woman. That one that talked to her about Kunnandi. “Sure, I can take a message”
Mali’s attention was yet again taken by another person. This one was interesting. He had scars, all over his face. A cross along his jaw and a scar that ran from his nose to under his eye. Mali lifted her head a bit, trying to get a better look at him. He had turned to take something from his bag, a strange bag. A woman had something like it. What woman was it? That woman, the one who helped her and Convel. Her ears picked up a bit; this was interesting. Why did he have the same bag as her? He smelled of metal and he had scars . . . was he a fighter, like Convel. Reaching forward, her hands acting on their own accord, she reached up to touch his face. He was young, very young, too young to have these scars. Curious, she had to know about this man. Lightly touching his thoughts, she saw that woman, the one who hadn’t given a name. “You know her! That woman, the elf . . .” she didn’t want to pry too much into his conscious so she hadn’t bothered to look for a name.
It was at that moment that Kunna decided to turn his attention to the first woman. He glanced over to Convel, sniffing the air before shaking his head. He turned his attention back to the woman. What was the message about? Moving off of Mali’s lap, he sat on the bench, his back legs lying out as his front legs held him up. This attention was fun. He could feel the happiness it was bringing to Mali’s mind. She was happy that Convel was back. She was also happy and curious as to this new man. The message that the woman carried seemed important; curiosity followed closely on that topic as well.

I had asked her a question, though I didn't mind the wait, I knew I possible shocked her and the horses that ran up possible didn't help. I saw another man come up also, his own body not paying attention to the fact that there was people everywhere and he nearly ran over her. I also noticed a man coming over, wearing what looked to be a skirt, but I had traveled enough to know that it was not actually called a skirt, but a kilt. That man looked rather handsome, I tried not to stare at him at all. I knew it was rude and I didn't like it either. I looked back at the man who had nearly run the poor girl over and noticed his face was scared, but more then my own. All I had was the ugly scare that was on my right cheek, straight down from a few inches from my eye down to my jaw line. I didn't like it, but it was a scar that would never leave the once pretty face I had.
I looked back at the Werecat and smiled, waiting for what she had to say. Hopefully she would take the message that needed to be carried. I wanted to help the Varden out all I could and my horses would help a lot. I had just gotten a few more and there training was on perfect schedule. “Sure, I can take a message.” I let out a breath of air and smiled slightly before giving her a smile and looked back at the man. Her own attention was on this man also and I could not help but look a little.
I returned my gaze back to the werecat. "Thank You... I am Nayeli, I train many draft horses... I am sure they will come in handy for the Army when transporting and I can also use them the smuggle soldiers into the empire cities, since I have large wagons I use to take hay into the towns.
I knew it was not much, but I could help and not only that, I was also a assassin and I could do more then just drive horses. "I can also train horses to be ridden into battle and these are smart enough to get away before they are killed." I said to her, hoping she would remember to tell the Leader this. I hoped she had listened, her attention was on the man and even the dragon had moved, sitting in a very odd position. I smiled at the silver dragon. “You know her! That woman, the elf . . .” I looked at the man for a moment, confused but then looked back at the rider. She had met someone that knew this man? It was not a hard thing to run into others. A faint growling emitted from Convel's shirt, surprising him. Reaching down, he pulled a gray, angry bundle out.
"Weel hello, wee Rollo. Cén chaoi a bhfuil tú, mo chara? Conas is mo léine sin? I expect you're hungry, aye?" More growls, this time punctuated by squeaks informed Convel that yes, Rollo was hungry, and yes, he'd bite Convel's throat out the next chance he got. Grinning at the squirms and anxious twitches of the tiny wolfhound, Convel reached into his sporran with his free hand and brought out a bite of venison jerky and handed it the wolf. Gnawing on the meat and thus content, Rollo let out a short growl and went to sleep. Convel , being satisfied that the wolf wouldn't try to gnaw his intestines out, put him back into his shirt.
"If whiskey was waterrr, we'd live forrreverrr!" Convel let the 'r's' roll off his tongue, deliberately exaggerating his burr and outlandishness. The pleated kilt, blue cap with eagle feathers, and sporran were dead give aways, but the bur and Gaelic were helpful. Towering over most men, and just about all women, Convel's red hair and blue eyes enforced the fact that he wasn't from Alagaesia. Trouble was headed his way in the form of four guards and the Captain of said guards. They looked angry and wanting a fight, which Convel wasn't prepared to give them, not with a wolf in his shirt and a load of good 'stuff' in his wagon.
"Hello sirs. How may I be of assistance tae ye, mphmm? A matter of smuggled goods, ye say? Weel, I'll tell ye, I think the wagon was stolen just now. Went that way." Convel pointed to the opposite direction of where his wagon actually was.

Kano felt the rider's presence in his mind, but pull back when she found out something she recognized. “You know her! That woman, the elf . . .” He looked interested at that. "You met Andraste?" He asked curiously. "Where?" He asked after the lady was finished telling her the message. He smiled, at least he had found someone who might know where his apprentice might be. He had a lead, and that was more than he had. He just remembered what he had come to the Varden to begin with. He had been looking for his older brother, and he still had not yet found him yet. Hopefully he would get a lead soon.
Kano then turned to look at the other man, the one with the wolf pup, and rolled his eyes. He shielded his mind and let a few thoughts through that he didn't want anyone else to get access to, most of the information was personal, and he didn't want even a rider finding out about it. Andraste had taught him quite a bit about defending his mind, especially how to withstand strong mental assaults, on their off time she had trained him well, assaulting him herself. She was like an older sister to him, but she still didn't replace his brother.

Her hands stayed on his cheeks for a moment longer before she realised the awkward position she might have placed him in. Pulling her hands back, she looked back over to the woman, Nayelli. Blushing a bit, thinking about how her hands had been holding the man’s face, she shook the thought from her mind. Now was not the time to be blushing about such a thing. She had a message to remember. She listened as intently as she could, nodding her head. Therefore, this woman had horses and transport. Mali didn’t know of any upcoming missions or events that would require such things, but when they would come, those provisions would be useful. She smiled to the woman. “I will take the message to her Nayelli” She had no idea when she would be seeing Nasuada next, but she could remember this message.
Turning back to the man, her blush was sent to her cheeks once again. Her name was Andraste. Now she could place a name with a face. The woman had been so secretive about everything; it hadn’t shocked Mali that she never gave a name. However, it was nice to have one. She had forgotten that he had asked a question and looked up to him. “I met her in Teirm. We had some drinks together and she helped Convel and I escape some guards,” okay so she played down the story a bit. They hadn’t been drinking together, it was more like Convel had been drinking with the guards and Andraste had been drinking on her own and Mali had been eating some honey balls. However, he didn’t need to know all that. They had shared some drinks and she had helped them to escape. Mali looked behind them to see Convel still talking to the guards. Pointing to the tall flaming man, Mali smiled. “That man there is Convel, he met Andraste too. Though, we don’t know which way she went after she left Teirm.” it was the truth. She had just walked off without saying anything other than ‘maybe we’ll see each other again’, or something along those lines.
