Another thing I'd like you people's input on is the addition of seasons to our RPing. What we've done till now is have the land of Alageasia be a permantly temperate environ, and I'm wondering how many people would like to change that.
There are of course pros and cons. If we do add seasons, it might be harder to work out character timelines, but I think it will add another level of variety, not to mention giving me something to put in the center table on the main header. ;D
So what do you think? Add seasons, or keep it how it is? Post any comments for and against here.

Well I personally like it, it gives us something to write about other then "The day was sunny and warm."

I think that we should have a season a month. That would make it three RP years per year in real life and would allow us to keep a nice stable timeline. What do you guys think?

I'm liking Elvorn's idea. It'd be easy to remember what season it is and make sure they're all even that way. ^^
Maybe: Jan = Winter Feb = Spring March = Summer April = Fall May = Winter June = Spring July = Summer August = Fall September = Winter October = Spring November = Summer December = Fall
Maybe we could also do specific weather every week in the major cities. For example:
Season: Winter Weather Patterns: Aberon: Rain with occasional snow showers mixed in. Ellesmera: Heavy snow. Uru'baen: Sleet and hail showers. Gil'ead Cold and overcast.
Comments? xD

Oh I like Andy's idea. Because the weather is different in different parts of Alagaesia, though it'll be hard to keep track daily .

I hate to be the bringer of bad news, but the problem with Andy's idea (though I, personally, like it) is what about threads? For the first five posts of a thread, it is sleeting and overcast, then suddenly in the middle of a post it turns to soft, fluffy snow, that has apparently been falling for days. Umm...

I like Andy's idea simply because it makes the seasons a bit more organized. About threads, though, I think small changes would be okay if it were in the limits of the weather. Sleet to snow would be okay, but if it was snow to sunshine, then that would be different.

I like Andy's idea, but I say keep it more simple than that
Like the Main cities overcast must differ from each other due to Geographical setting, but it shouldn't change frequently
like for instance, During Winter 'month' Aberon gets a lot of rain because its closer to the sea, (stormy seas) Gilead & Urubaen snows over &gets blizzards because of their more exposed terrain, &thus they get more extreme weather Ellesmera gets heavy cloud cover & occasional Sleet rain
&Then you Just Change the major Cities expected climate with the seasons
Thats one idea, comments? XD

Andy and Elvorn's rotation schedule I like a lot, that way it provides a good deal of variety, and we won't have people going "Shab, we just got four feet, I don't want it snowing here too! Gah!"
As for threads, it won't be all that complicated. The way most sites do it is that if a thread is still going when the season changes, it stays with the weather of the season in which it started. After all, most threads catalogue the events of hours, or at the most a few days.
Yes, I think seperate weather by regions is an excellent idea. I might need to add another table on the side of the board for all this info. XD Either that, or putting it in a stickied thread on each of the major cities.

Well, we're just about ready to implement this, but I need something done first.
Assignment: We need some pictures to put in the summary for each season. Now, most sites use little 100 by 100 hundred pixel stubs, but I'd like something a bit more interesting. I'm not sure exactly how big, because I don't know where I'm going to put them, but I would like them to have some interest, something to make them vaguely... fantasy-ish. I find that game concept art is usually a great place to start, but so far I'm coming up blank. So please, consult your various sources for pictures that clearly denote each season, and that would be a huge help.

I'm working on that too, do you want any text on it? Like 'Winter'? Or something more or less obvious like that?

Ok guys. Have far too long dithering on my part, I've asked Cal to bring to handle for us the regional weather! As you might have noticed by now, there are stickied threads in each major region of Alagaesia, describing the general weather patterns in the area. Naturally, it doesn't have to be exactly that kind of weather when you carry out your threads there, they are simply meant to be a general guideline as to what it's like during the particular season.
Questions? Comments? Suggestions?
