Name: Volcon De'Vol Age: 19 Race: Human Appearance:
Although he is usually forced to wear what he considers the rather plain, and drab uniform of The Empire he just trudges his feet and continues to wear it. The uniform though is always as clean as the day it was issued to him, and he intends for it to stay that way through out his time on duty. Although everything in his possession is tidy to an almost unreasonable account he does have one major oddity about his clothing habits. Even though he must wear shoes he has a knack of not wearing socks, mostly because he just feels as if they make his feet much less cramped in the shoe, and he doesn’t like the feeling of them when they get sweaty.
Although hardly ever seen out of uniform if you happen to see him with out it on you will find that his regular attire looks much like a uniform. Wearing everything in a very punctuated way, he likes to be very formal in almost every occasion not caring if it’s going on a hands on mission or going to a ball. It’s a habit that is would probably be counted as uncharacteristic if he had been around those of his childhood, but still it is the man he has chosen to be
A hard rigid face that has a reputation of showing little to no emotions unless extremely provoked or extremely drunk is one of the prominent feature of this man. Medium length head of course brown hair is on his head only measuring to about a two inches in length and is always nice and neat. The fact that when facial hair grows in it is rather blond unlike the hair on his head keeps him very clean-shaven all of the time. Hard brown eyes seem to be intently focused on whatever it is he happens to be attending to at the moment, although few times will you actually catch him with a kind expression on his face.
Standing at about five eleven he isn’t as tall as some people, but he is quite content with being about normal height. Being neither to tall or too small to blend into a crowd it helps him disappear when the time calls for such a thing. Slim, and not particularly strong Volcon weighs only one hundred forty five pounds, but that comes from the fact that he doesn‘t like to eat much in one setting. The arm that he predominantly uses is slightly stronger and better built then his other arm, and with much examination one would be able to point it out. The man is very pale most of the time, from many days up in ships with little to no sunlight at all.
Personality:
Volcon’s most outstanding trait that seems to standout the most in almost everything he does is that he has a natural ability to lead. Taking control of a situation with out hesitation is just something that he does and it makes him a person that sometimes seems officious. Still, he has a good way with logic and can work out problems and situations in his mind spontaneously and put them into action quickly. This along with an authoritative aura just makes people do what he says which is typically something he clings on to desperately.
Although he has the ability to lead he is sometimes very commanding even in the presence of those he has great respect for. It isn’t a disregard of their respect or their stature it is simply his first response to almost any situation even if it is a little annoying. Knowing that he is a little obsessive in his commanding nature and fixing it are two different things and he has decided to feed upon this trait. It gives him confidence in his abilities when the need to lead arises and other wise he might have issues with a lack of self-esteem.
A seemingly unavoidable calamity surrounds him throughout everything he does unless he is rather diligently provoked to do other wise. The coolness he keeps even in the face of danger helps to command the respect of those around him. Although when he does get angry it can be a very Impervious to the taunts of those around him, he can brush off an insult in an instant and keep on walking head high and in a stature that could be considered a spit in the face.
A problem with profanities has emerged from him over the course of about a year, and although he is working to correct the problem it is quite an undertaking to stop. Figuring a dignified man would never speak such words he works to cut them out of even his thought processes and go only with words that he wouldn’t be ashamed to say.
History:
A young boy was born to two young parents eager to make a name of their selves in a lonely world, only to realize too late they didn’t want a child. As the pregnancy became abundantly clear they considered the choice of aborting the child and not having to worry about it once it was born. After much thought though they decided that this was not the path they wanted to lead and in time a small baby was born only weighing about five pounds.
After the first few days passed and it seemed as if the boy would live the two parents gave the child to an orphanage before running away in the night. Even though the boy never met his parents he never thought much about them, most likely because he never really had time to think of much of anything. As a child the orphanage raised him in a sweet and nurturing way, but as he grew up and no one came to buy him things soon started to change.
The orphanage started to make him work and he was forced to do all the things that the older children would do. Although he resented it he didn’t much care that he had to do it and he did everything they said without hesitation for he knew if not for them he would certainly be dead. As he got older and still no people wanted the little rat that was Leto the orphanage started to treat him more and more like a sponge that could be used until it disappeared and then simply discarded.
At the age of ten the boy had no life of his own, little friends, hardly an education, and the love of no one or no thing. He had little education, but he soon found a love of reading as he explored all the possibilities that could come inside the text. So, often he would escape to what his life could be like and sometime he even got in trouble for reading while he was supposed to be off doing something.
Slowly his life got better as he became less and less dependant of the orphanage and started to make his own living, and in time his own way in the world. At sixteen the boy got a full time job, that despite getting little pay and having to work many hours he rather liked. The lack of education prevented him from getting a job that actually paid anything, but in his mind this was much better then the cage of an orphanage he had been living in.
Several years passed by with no activity in his life and everything seemed to be going in a loop that he couldn’t escape, The orphanage became a labyrinth without any end in sight and the little money he was making wasn’t adding up very fast. Soon he found that there might be no escape as seventeen crept closer and closer, and his life was hardly worth the money he made.
Over about the course of six months the young man decided that he could wait no longer and he would join Empire. After much mental preparations and getting all he could together he left the orphanage forever, forsaking it, as one would discard an old sock.
As he came upon this new life he found that things he learned in training and combat were things that kept him interested. Life opened another door to him that was much brighter then the last and before long he had a mental stability that was more promising then anything he had before. Even though those around him considered him an outsider he still found this much better then the cell he had been locked in before.
Volcon rarely talked during any of his lessons or combat, only being quiet and intently paying attention, but soon he found that when he did talk people listened. The fact that he was rather gruff looking and that the stature in which he held himself was always as if he’s looking down at you made him seem like he was in command. This of course got in the way in his courses, and although he tried to be polite it was hard to change his mind once it was set. This is where he stands a young man, a fresh start, and a country ahead of him and only his past in the way.
Roleplaying example:
Little spirals of rain fell from the dark ominous clouds that blackened all but the faintest of the sun’s natural light. Saidin crept like the lumbering shadow of a murder, the only indication of death before the fall of the knife that brings with it the eerie silence of death. The seemingly peaceful nature of the glowing mass that was saidin reminded that it hung there just as well as the pounding of the rain on his cowl reminded him of the storm that crashed around him.
An almost inaudible sigh escaped from Leto’s mouth as he looked curiously at the schematics of the tower one more time studying his plan again. It was simple, but effective and the hardest part of the entire plot had been getting his hands on these schematics and finding out what changes had been made since it had been drawn out. After weeks of deep scrutiny he had worked out a plan that was infallible, there were a few coincidences that could happen that would expose him, but by that time it would be too late. Of course unless, but as soon as this thought came into his mind he ridded himself of it, because the odds of this happening were slim to none.
Stuffing the schematics back into his saddlebag he lightly kicked his heels into the horses flanks sending her clattering and splashing on the uneven paving stones. Its shaggy brown hair damp with the falling rain swayed in the air with each movement splaying water on the people unlucky enough to have to walk around in this downpour. If there wouldn’t have been so many people he would have channeled a simple weave to stop that rain, but too many Aes Sedai would know what was going on, and he wanted none of that at the moment. The horse on which Leto rode gave a quick flick of the tail as if sent a rather cold spurt of water on his back and he longed more then ever for the sweet sensation of Saidin.
As the last buildings fell away it revealed a scene both awe inspiring and fear inducing for any man with Leto’s particular gift. Up to this point there was no record of any man going in there that was not gentled, or at least not in Leto’s knowledge, but he would soon change that. Although the mission that was soon to partake would be no doubt risky and could get him gentled or killed he knew that this was the only way he would learn what he needed to learn. The only way that he could find out the secrets that were wrapped up in a dynamic puzzle that no one could unravel till the time was right, but he still needed to know.
Not letting him stop and think about what he wanted to do the horse kept on walking towards the one thing that could destroy and bring life to Leto. Suddenly the Aes Sedai symbol struck him as odd as the conflicting colors stuck out, almost perfectly depicting his situation at the moment. The black representing the male side of the true source seemed to Leto sinister and almost depressing next to the bright white of Saidar. It seemed almost prejudice the way the way that slid together, but they were prejudice and Leto could never forget that.
The click of the horse’s horseshoes on the paving stones was getting louder as the people seemed to fade away as the white tower got closer. The tower seemed to be dead, he had always thought that it would be crawling with Aes Sedai all the time, but there seemed to be a definite lack of the activity he had thought. This though he could use to his advantage, but he wouldn’t assume anything at this point and would go on with his plan just as natural as he could be. The most risky part of the plan was actually getting in, but he had worked it out pretty well and he had a disguise to go suit.
Easing up to the guard slowly he slowed his horse down using his knees and put on a superior look on his face that said he would take no crap. Looking at the man in the burnished steel plating with his lance in hand trying to look intimidating while half scared of Leto’s cold hard look.
“I am sent by Lord Loehim to deliver an important message to an Aes Sedai residing in the White Tower at this time.” He said with a mock Cairhein accent disguising his own.
“We will take it for you” The man said in an almost suspicious tone.
“I will be most severely punished by my lord if I let this into any hands but his sisters.” A pleading look covered his face as he desperately tried to get himself in.
“Well, you may go in, but if your not back soon I’m coming after you.” A sneer entered his look as he opened up the gates for Leto, and he had to quietly suppress a smile as he kick his horse into a walk.
Walking into the courtyard his look of superiority still adorning his face as he made his way to the towers stables. Entering he was greeted by a few of the tower servants that were welcome to take his horse off his hands while he made his stay. Telling them to keep her out and ready to go the entire time he was gone he jumped off the horse and reached into his pack pulling out a bundle of things and pushing it under his cloak. Many things in this bundle would be essential to his single crusade on this impassable fortress, and he didn’t want to leave some of it for unwanted eyes to find.
Heading through the stables thick with the smell of rotting hay and horse manure he grimace as he made his way to the steps leading to the main part of the tower. Pulling out his schematics he looked them over one more time before heading off into the labyrinth some called a tower. Each Aes Sedai that he passed by seemed to stare him down telling him that they knew exactly what he was and exactly what he was about to do. Still, he went on with that particular set of his face making sure he didn’t let anything show that he didn’t want.
Heading down the hall he made his way solemnly through the he looked at nothing in particular as he tried desperately to find what he was looking for. Heading down one last hallway he pulled out the schematics realizing he wasn’t in the right place and looked at them again trying to figure out where he was. He seemed to breath harder as he realized he was right next to the red’s quarters and suddenly the tiles seemed to pop out of him. Spinning he knew he had to get out of here, moving past the tapestries and the porcelain that was all around him he tried to get anywhere but where he was. Trying to escape those accursed red tiles he made his way down the hall at a fast pace, but still being weary of those who might see him.
Suddenly he found himself exactly where he didn’t want to be as he came face to face with the doors to what he knew to be the red’s quarters. “Bloody flaming ashes” escaped his mouth as he almost freaked out exposing his whole position. Suddenly he reached into the source drawing on as much of the source as he could, as he grappled with the searing pain and the wonderful sensations all at the same he felt in heaven. With the source anything was possible, and now nothing, not even the Aes Sedai could stop him from getting what he wanted.
