Mali was confused and lost. She had been lost for a fair amount of time and conversing with Kunnandi wasn’t helping at all. She couldn’t even converse with him in words and using pictures wasn’t so easy when you had no idea where you were. She thought for a moment, why in god’s name did they have to get lost anyways? Thinking back to it, now she remembered. They were curious as to an odd noise that they had heard coming from the forest. They had been in a rather open area for magic training, but now they were lost somewhere in the forest. You would think that her keen feline instincts would be able to guide them back to camp. However, she wasn’t a canine after all; her sense of direction and smell weren’t by far as superior to that of a dog. Not that cats were inferior to dogs, dogs just had a better sense of tracking things than cats.
If only she had been a canine, then they wouldn’t be in this mess. Kunna looked up to Mali with a crooked grin. Showing her an image of a batch of cookies, their tent and a smile on their faces with Mali giving him a belly rub, she understood what he was trying to say. Only two problems with what he had shown her. They couldn’t possibly have cookies at camp because there were no ovens to make cookies with. The second problem was that they wouldn’t be in their tent tonight because it was getting dark and it would be harder to find her way at night. Even with her enhanced eyesight in the dark, it was always harder to find your way in the dark.
They had come down to Ellesméra for magic training, claiming that the closeness to the forests and Elven land often contributed towards finding your magical abilities easier. She didn’t really believe that. The location wouldn’t help you discover your abilities any easier. Not unless you were being tortured, then no one would be able to discover them easily. Sighing, she stopped walking, turning around to look the way they came.
“Kunna, we’re lost, we should make camp, though there should be a city near here or something,” her head snapped to the side when she heard a twig snap. Calling out, she tightened her protective hold on Kunna. “Who’s there?” she hissed, her ears flattening back as she didn’t seen them in the light. Where were they!? Jumping into a tree, she climbed, perching herself in a tree, waiting for the twig-snapper to come out.

Cody heard the twig snap under the hoof of his horse, Gaia. He patted her neck when he halted her. He then heard a female voice call out "Who's there!" He turned the roan mare towards the sound and came out of the brush to be in a small clearing within which rested a dragon. He had actually heard the voice so he assumed that it wasn't the dragon that had spoken He looked about and for just a fleeting moment thought he saw something in the trees. "Hello?" He shouted into the air. Hoping that the dragon that lay only a dozen feet away would not attack him. "My name is Cody Blackheart. I am a soldier for the Varden, I mean no harm!" He added hoping to placate the dragon by proving he was no threat. Toi add to that effect he dismounted the mare and stood on the bare earth.
Cody continued to scan the trees and forest with his eyes. He had seen what he thought was a somewhat feline shape that would suggest an elf or some similar race. But this truly had Cody afraid. OOC: Sorry its so short. I have no muse for Cody right now Mali.

Mali watched the human as turned around, scanning the trees for whoever it was that called him. He wouldn’t be able to see her as it was getting dark out and she had black hair, grey clothes and a green cloak on. She watched for a few more moments, blinking continuously as a hint to her hiding spot. It was only a human; he couldn’t hurt her as long as she had Kunna here. Even though Kunna was still young, Mali could easily take down the horse and Kunna would go for the jugular. Jumping down from the tree, she placed Kunna on the ground. He then walked over to the demounted boy. He couldn’t be older than sixteen at most.
“I am Mali, Varden Dragon Rider. And this is Kunna, my other half and only family member” At the mention of his name, he gave Cody a wide toothy grin. Sniffing around his legs, Kunnandi nudged against him, checking him out before he would give his approval. Cody didn’t smell like a liar, so he really did work for the Varden. Climbing up Cody’s body, Kunna perched himself against Cody’s chest, his tail holding him up as he looked into his eyes. After a brief moment, Kunna smiled, grunting a friendly ‘hello’ and licking his cheek. He was safe.
Mali walked over to Cody and lifted Kunna from his chest and into her arms. “If Kunna says you’re safe, I believe him. So, could you help me find my way back to the camp nearby? We wandered off during our magic training and got lost. I don’t know this part of the woods or else my cat eyes would help me get back easily.” she laughed lightly and shrugged her arms. Her tail swung about her and her ears twitched to all the sounds in the forest. It was still light enough that Cody would be able to tell she was a werecat. It wasn’t a bad thing, but it might surprise him. People often told her she was special. She didn’t understand what they meant, but they often said it was because no dragon bonds with werecats.
