The time of peace has ended, the lord Salsuzar has taken the throne and his dark magic has begun to change Fanghur. No longer can one expect to be protected from the shadows that have begun to lurk closer to the heart of the Aryth forest. Though shocking to some this has been a long fortold fate for the realm of Fanghur, the elves and there spell casters were given a vision for the future from the gods themselves. The young Salsazur had been watched and monitoured but it was out of their hands to choose if he would take the throne. It was destiny that put the now man there, along with the aid of his spell casters he was soon able to obtain much of the land in the east. With the hatching of his dragon he has been able to grow in power aswell, slowly tearing Fanghur apart. Yet there is hope, still. The elves have for thousands of years, have saved and protected the five eggs they were able to obtain before much of the dragon race was destroyed. With the protection of the Elven Queen Lúthien Telperiën, who is a elf rider herself. Her heart belongs to only one creature that by the name of Alatariel, the white and gold dragon that has been at her side for many years. Being among the last dragon riders to understand the arts, and to be alive, she has taken upon the task of training and protecting the next riders to come.
"I shall die for them, if I must."
For years the eggs have been still and silent though the soft hums soon begin to fill the forest with its magical notes. The elves know now that they will hatch but for who? The elves begin to summon humans and elves, everyday a court is held in the hatching grounds and each egg is brushed with the fingures of a young child, or teen ager. The eggs will only hatch for there true companion, the fear of not finding this companion rests in the humans hearts but the elves know all to well that these things can not be rushed, they must take time before they can be fullfilled. Though hope is renewed when the first egg hatches to a young boy, the boy heiring of the family of a Warder father, and the mother of a spell caster. The boy is well qualified but his use of magic and knowledge is little. Yet when the bond is made the young dragon and boy seem to be perfect for one another. The fallowing days soon all the eggs hatch, though worrie rises when one of hte eggs hatches for a young boy that comes from a family of power hungry parents.
"You were stolen from us."
Weeks of training occur and the dragons are growing at amazing speeds, the young riders learning with them. Though as one a pair of the riders is sent to the Varden to give oaths of trust, they are soon released and hurry home eager to train once more. Excorted by the gaurds the four young riders and dragons are attacked, by the army of Salsuzar. Who had found out about the hatched eggs. Three of the four are taken away to the east and forced to swear oaths to serve the dark lord in the ancient language binding them to him until death. Yet one is able to escape death, he rushes home bruised and torn. His young dragon has found well but it seems that they are both deeply wounded. Arriving back the news is given and the elves turn to a state of anger and grief. This is not acceptable, the people will rise and fight Salsuzar for the wrong he has done to the young pairs.
"Your blood will spill for this."
The days pass and the training of the dragon and riders become more grueling, they must prepare to fight the three others that have been taken to the shadows. The two young pairs, one of a male rider of elf blood and the other a girl and of human blood soon grow stronger but something has happend in the land beyound the elves. The spell casters have gotten wind of a rural clan of dragons, and a egg that was lost and catched. For in the west a young farmer boy has come apon the egg and it has hatched for him, The elves rush out to get the young boy, the two riders flying out with the dragons to find the two before the shadows do. Finding them in nearly a death state, as they are being attacked by the warriors of urtugard, the two kill the small army and take the young dragon and boy back to the forest of Aryth. The elves are greatly pleased and soon the training begins again.
"There is one great then us still."'
Though there is yet another egg; for many hundreds of years ago a female dragon of great power had mated with a clan leader and had then disappeared. Many though it was the touch of the evil lord who had killed her before she was able to lay her eggs; yet this was not exactly how things went. This female dragon was one of the few that understood the magic that ran in her veins and she was able to use it to heal herself and give herself a longer life. When she hatched her egg she quickly died from exhaustion because she cast a spell that she could not maintain after laying her egg. The egg was gifted away though from her to a safer place. Caverns far form the reaches of Salsuzar and really right under the nose of the Humans. The egg was placed in Tar Valon in a cavern unknown to the people in the forest. When a young girl finds the egg she is surprised at the beauty of such a simple rock and takes it home with her. She is a young lady of the Kings courts and truly has no friends or life. When the egg hatches for her though everything changes; where will life take her now, she must run away before they take her dear Dragon from her. As they grow they prove to be more powerful than most of the other Dragon Riders. But they do not wish to be involved in war and so run from both the sides.
"Only Time will tell if we shall tame this wild spirit."
All around Fanghur packs, herds, and flocks are forming. These being of powerful Griffins coming together, or the creature so the land; wolfs, lions and Haunts coming together to make a pact. The animals are splitting in two familys breaking off to go to one cause or another. The world is breaking apart, and once again Good and Evil will face off on the plains of truth to see who will choose the path the rest of the world will follow. Which side will you be on? Where will you make your stand? Can you survive a fight of wills? Only Time will tell us.
