The clouds moved over the land at a fast pace as the rain finally stopped falling on the land. Everything about the land was different now. The grass held a dim glow and the trees glimmered in the dim light from above. The roads were muddy, no dry spots on them as he sun glimmered down on them. Nothing would be traveling down this road for the next few hours, maybe not even the next day or so, since the ran had caused so much puddles the road would be a mess to walk on, much less drive a wagon through or ride a horse on. The city, which was far off in the distance, but still close enough to see was surrounded by a large wall, guards walked on the top, but you could see that war had stuck this town many times. Outside the city, untended farms were not in good conditions and the houses were in worse, but perhaps the building behind the wall were in better shape. Which they were! Most had been repaired and the area livable, but unlike other cities, no children ran in the roads, playing and not many women walked the streets to do normal choirs. Soldiers matched or rather walked by the building, talking and laughing, trying to set a better mood after the storm that had come through. Puddles were everywhere, causing some wagons to get stuck as they were going from one side of the city to another side of the city. The gate was open, however, someone watched to this distance to make sure no one was coming so that they would not be surprised and they could shut the door.
Off in the forest, emerald eyes watched the city from afar. She did not feel like going to the capital, she figured this city might need a good spell caster, and since she was a elf, she was pretty powerful. She just set there, her legs crossed and her back up against a tree. Her cloak was hung on a tree, the wolf pelted coat was heavy with rain, but to her it was still pretty light. She carved at a stick, her daggers were beautiful, the pommel was in the shape of a howling wolf head and were silver with a small gem in the eyes. She was no normal elf, her ears were on the top of her head, her nose was like a snout, with sharp K-9 teeth. her body was covered in a thick black pelt, she looked like nothing more then a wolf, that had longer arms and legs. She was strong, that was for sure, but right now she debated about going to the city. She wondered what they would do if they saw her, of course, they would fear her, but she had plenty of words to keep them unable to draw swords.
She chose to head to the city, a choice that would chose her next path in life. She had chosen to help the Varden a long time ago, so she knew this was what she wanted to do. She looked ahead, her emerald eyes searched the land before she pulled her cloak back on her back and walked from the trees and headed to the town. She pulled her hood over her head just as more ran began to come down from the heavens above and she glanced up. She let her face be hidden, but she moved easily over the land. She stopped just outside the gate, where some men had come to 'welcome' her.
"Halt! Who are you?" His voice was strong, but she just held up her hand, which was gloved and showed she was a friend. She walked forward, her emerald eyes looked at the man. He was a rather large man, his belly was ready to pass his belt and he was having to pull it in to make his chest look bigger. He was a normal commander, a little big and needed a diet, but she did not care, she was sure he had gotten plenty of time on the battle field.
"I am Tasia, a elf. I come to help you and your city. I am not sure if you have spell casters, but I can help you in that area," She said to him, her voice sounded like a brook and her scent made the men come closer to her. She smelt of a spring morning, but when she removed her hood she showed her true self. If any of the men had seen the body guards which Eragon has, then some were not nearly as surprised. The main man seemed less surprised and gave a smile to the women. "May I look through the city?" He nodded and showed her around, showing her the building which she could stay in if she liked and also where the men ate. She nodded, knowing she would possible eat there some time. He then showed her the garden, which horrified her. "Let me take over the Garden, my mother was a great gardener. She taught me how to grow plants to eat and plants to use for healing." He nodded, not wanting to cause her to be anger, but he seemed relieved them someone wanted to job. They continued to walk the city for many hours, looking around and explaining each important building.
