Ah the sky, it really was a beautiful place to be. Yet for some reason Thorn had never really noticed its beauty though it was most likely because he had never really had the time to take in its beauty. What with always having to fly into battle. But today Thorn could not stay and stare at the clouds and the sky all day. He should have been at the meeting spot hours ago waiting for Shruikan but he wasn't and needless to say it was not wise to test the patience of a one hundred and three year old creature with an already bad temper. Thorn knew in the back of his mind that he was going to be punished severely by the elder dragon and this worried him a little.
But none the less he flew toward the clearing that the old dragon had been teaching him in. There once he flew over once he saw the hulking mass that was Shruikan and again contemplated simply flying back to the castle and going to sleep and facing the dragons wrath later. but he decided against it knowing that the old beasts anger would only get worse the longer he made his teacher wait. He descended to the trees and once over the clearing folded his wings in and dropped to the ground a few feet away from Shruikan. "Forgive me Master, I became lost in my own thoughts and lost track of the time."
The red dragon said knowing full well that his words would do no more then slightly lessen the dragons rage. But he sat patiently and waited for the anger to rush over him like a tidal wave.
