Well, the time has yet again come for us to update the main plot of the site, and... I've got nothin'. It is true, somewhere between all of the various activities cropping up this month, all of my ideas have dropped out of my head. And so, since we are in desperate need of a continuing plot in order to keep activity going, I turn to you guys for any ideas you might have. It can be anything at all, but preferably not consisting entirely of somebody attacking somewhere and killing something. We have rather done that before, I think. So please, voice your ideas here!

Maybe the Empire tries to get into the Varden's egg stash and get out with some/all?

I'm not so sure. For one, that has been done before. But that was long before many of the members we have here now had joined, so we could probably get away with it again. But still, that wouldn't really have any real bearing on the plot, because we never determined just how many eggs each side has, so it wouldn't matter all that much if a side lost some if its X eggs.

Not sure either. a lot of the plot of the books was training and battles. So, minus intrigue and spy action, maybe get spies from each side to inifiltrate and then have the rest try to dig em out, theres battle or planning or military drills.

What if the Empire sent a large force and whatever Riders/Dragons that they had to march on Du Weldenvarden? They could do some serious damage with their fire and whatnot before the Varden arrived to help, and then we could have an epic battle

Hmm... I agree about the battle thing, Angster, they're just... I mean, 95% of all rps in existence concern a war, and the others are highschool rps. I'd rather at least this stage of the plot not be yet ANOTHER battle. I have two suggestions. One, the Empire and the Varden, like in the first Narnia movie, actually approach each other peacefully, like, Galbatorix and Nasuada, to reach an agreement on something, or maybe make a treaty because, like, both sides lost a ton of soldiers due to previous events. Or something else. I dunno.
The other is, maybe there's SUPPOSED to be a big fight like in Shards of Humanity, and the two sides meet up to wage an epic battle, but then... SOMETHING happens that randomly force the Empire and Varden to work together. Like... a bunch of Shades or something? It would be really cool if the Shade in Brisingr, what's-his-face, escaped instead of being killed by Arya and made a little army of Shades. =D That would be BADASS. Or maybe Malandra's zombies malfunction and start attacking the Empire as well as the Varden.
Duh, I dunno, that's just my two cents. But I AM pretty tired of all the fighting, and it would be cool if we had the Empire show another side rather than just its 1D evil-Star-Wars-ripoff-empire that wants to destroy everyone and everything for no particular reason.

I kinda like Em's idea of the zombies.... Maybe have the zombies and their commanders decide to break away from the Empire, carve out a bit of the Southern area of the Empire, and the Northern area of Surda (as they were all dudes fighting to save their families, it'd be logical they'd be southern soldiers as they are the most at risk), and have the Varden and Empire have to band together in a fight.
That'd also introduce new opportunities for characters and a whole new faction. Which would be pretty cool.

I like the idea of the Empire and Varden having to team up very much. And you're right, pretty much the only way this would happen is that there was some kind of common enemy that is threatening them both. I doubt that Nasuada and Galby would meet to talk it out, though. Personally, putting the head of state within a hundred miles of the most powerful man in the continent when he's annoyed strikes me as a bad idea, and Galby probably wouldn't come out anyway, because he's almost found... the name.
Here's an idea that I came up with a few days ago: At the edges of Du Weldenvarden, some kind of poison in the ground is causing the trees to die at huge rate. And all attempts to isolate it with magic just seems to make it go faster. Obviously, everyone thinks the Empire is responsible... Until they find out that the Empires crops are also dying.
Perhaps?

That would stir up a hornets nest.
My only thing is that if the elven magicians can not stop it, what can? Even getting Galby and every one of them together, that would be a serious mess.

Heh, you're right, Angmor, Galby would be pretty hard-pressed to leave his palace. That throne of his must have a permanent arse print by now, and he's just working on making it deeper. The plant thing sounds absolutely smashing. And Don, maybe it isn't magic that helps out the plants. Maybe it needs something else, something more... ethereal, like an Eldunari, perhaps? After all, magic can't fix everything, sadly. So the Empire and Varden would have to pit themselves together logically and stuff to fight the evil blight. It's a VERY nice change from battles.

Ok, cool. How might we initiate this?

Hmm... first, let's think about who would be involved. Definetely Riders and magic peoples, and some Varden and Imperial dignitarites too. It could be either they meet to accuse/discuss stuff about it, or both sides are trying to get rid of the infestation and they... bump into each other? o.O
