Name:
Amaranth ‘Mara’ Morwenna
Age:
25
Race:
Human
Appearance:
Amaranth is a delicate looking thing, yet not so delicate she looks breakable. More like she looks like she should be in a house embroidering, or other delicate work. She has some height to her standing at an elegant five foot seven inches. She weighs around a hundred and twenty-eight or thirty pounds all that in muscle mass, not an ounce of fat on her. She has a very feminine built to her, lean light muscle work underlying her fair skin. She doesn’t look like she has muscles but it’s like the rest of her, hidden.
Mara has long black hair that reaches her middle back in waves. It’s normally in its braid or up in a high ponytail out of the way. Her thin brows are set over blue-green eyes, pale in shade. Her eyes are framed by thick black lashes. A thin blade of a nose is small. Her cheek bones are high on her face. Her lips are a blush like pink with the bottom lip slightly bigger than the top lip. A single black freckle rests on her left cheek under her eye.
She normally is dressed in Imperial uniform, mostly because she works almost constantly. Outside the job she sticks to the darkest clothes available, and never a dress. One thing she always has on her is a band of black leather around her neck like a collar almost. On her hand is a silver band on her right middle finger with an engraved name on the underside, Astaroth.
Personality:
Mara is a very to the point kind of woman. She hates games and stalling. If there’s a job she does it end of sentence. She has little patience for failure and normally doesn’t tolerate it. Failure normally means trouble for the person doing the failing.
Amaranth does have a side to her that isn’t work related. She is for the most part cold, calm, and indifferent. She could care less about your troubles. Mara has problems of her own to bother with. She doesn’t share with you, you don’t share with her. It’s as simple as that.
Though it does not seem like it Mara does have a sensitive and gentle side, it’s just she never lets it show and knows no one she cares to bother to show it to. Though once you get to know her and get the privilege to be a friend she is fiercely loyal and slightly affectionate, but it’s very rare for her to be that way. She finds it hard to be kind, though despite everything she says and does she is very gentle and kind underneath all her layers of armor
History:
Amaranth was born and raised in Teirm by her father who was an officer in the Imperial army. He wasn’t home most the time, constantly out working, so she grew up pretty independent. When he was home he would teach her things she would need to know to survive in this world. By the time she was seven he started teaching her how to fight, believing for a young girl alone all the time it was the smartest and safest thing he could do for her. So she would be given things to work on while he was away and taught new things when he was home. Soon she was a skilled hand-to-hand fighter and he let her move on the learning swordplay after her constant begging to learn. She had seen him practice in the yard many times and wanted to be able to move and fight the way he did. She looked up to him, he was the only role model she had around other than her stuffy nursemaid.
By the age of eighteen she got into the army and was placed under her father’s command by some miracle and she got to learn so much more. She learned how to be a strong leader, and she got to advance her skills in swordplay. As she rose in the ranks till she was just under him she learned fast and was going places, fast. With his death in a raid at Tierm when they were home on the few times she was given his rank and position. A middle ranked officer in the army. Where she stands now.

The Siren was docked at some random port to get supplies and for a night of fun for the crew. Pirates after all liked having fun once in a while. The captain left the ship in the charge of her chief and went to a not so rowdy tavern on the island. The third in command on the ship, though technically there was no second or first mate on the Siren it was the next best rank he could get, was at the captains side as always. The tavern they choose was not empty but it was far from crowded and no brawl going on inside as of the moment.
Will Barker left the side of his captain to the bar and fetched ale and ordered something to eat to be brought. He returned to the table near the fireplace where they settled and offered the mug of ale to his captain. He settled in his chair taking a sip and setting the mug down. He ran a hand through medium length dark brown hair out of his face and leaned back in the chair. He wore simple clothes but was still clearly a pirate, white loose shirt, dark pants, sturdy sea salt flecked boots, a belt with a pistol and cutlass on it. Though Will was far cleaner looking than the average pirate, his teeth better kept and his general personal hinge far more healthy than that of the average pirate. Though most the crew was like that. Captain Cooper was against outright filth and disorder. Something after seven years with Captain Cooper he learned to nit mind. Siren was one the most infamous pirate ships on the seas as the Captain was one the most infamous pirates known.
He cast his eyes upon the wondrous woman that sat across from him scanning the room and the people within it like a predator looking for prey, the slight narrowing of her eyes telling him she was looking for something in particular, or maybe someone. It was always hard to tell with Elliana Cooper though. She was a hard one to read.
Ellie leaned the chair she sat in back on the back two legs calf high black boots on the wooden table crossed at the ankle. Her dark grey pants were almost like tights they hugged her legs so, tucked under the boots she wore. A knife rested in the left boot against the side of her calf. The thick belt with the silver buckle rested on her hips had a knife, a cutlass, and two pistols (both fine looking weapons expensive looking as was the cutlass all the finest of weapons) in their proper places upon the belt. Her dark red shirt tied in the back hugged her small waist, giving a peek of the smooth toned core she had. A long black coat was over the whole simple outfit was trimmed in gold and hardly did the job of hiding her from view the lack of bottomed buttons on the shirt teased showing off some her bosom. Around her neck gold pendants on gold chains, only two one having a coin on it the second held a gold ring with a small dime sized tear shaped ruby on it. A golden hoop in her right ear and that was all the jewelry she wore.
Her dark red, almost auburn in color was just past the shoulders and firmly under a Captains black hat and out of her way, leaving her piercing grey eyes the freedom to survey the area to her liking. Ellie was looking for someone. In fact she needed someone who knew the area farther south than here, most don’t venture that far with the tribal natives being so aggressive and territorial as they were. But she was in search of some treasure that was said to be down south into the jungle country. She also needed a new navigator, hers having died in the last raid. She wasn’t much of one her-self and none her men were either, a irritating thing but that’s how it went. She only knew the basics that was one lesson she ignored when her father taught her about life on a ship when she was growing up on the Siren when it belong to her father before her.
“Will your good at finding people we need. Think you can find us a new navigator”, her clipped tones brisk as always. Her gaze still scanning the tavern room through the typical haze that filled taverns. She sipped the ale in her mug. Will nodded. “Aye Cap’ain”, he said and rose to his feet stretching taking his ale with he went to the bar to converse doing the thing he did best, finding who was looking for work and what they did. He was a people person and worked well with all temperaments thus his ability to keep Ellie’s temper in check when he was present.
