It was interesting to see how everyone else reacted to Wraith. A proper crowd had gathered around us once again- the adults stared, some children hid, and others were standing amongst their parents and holding sticks like they meant to poke Wraith with them. Nasuada and her two cronies looked like they wanted him to drop dead on the spot, while Kano seemed disinterested. Ava seemed far more interested in Vivec rather than the elf. As for me, I had eyes only for Wraith.
“Sounds like the perfect plan... Tasia, take him the holding area, but please, do not get carried away,” Nasuada replied to my statement. I relaxed a little, but tried not to let it show. Tasia grinned at Vivec like a rabid dog and promptly dragged him off, leaving him struggling and whimpering in her grasp. “I will hear you out. However, Tasalae, take him to his holding, get healers to heal those wounds, I would rather them be healed then have to look at them... At least have him presentable.” Tasalae nodded and hauled Wraith to his feet. He was surprisingly tall; 6’4” if not even taller, and glared down at all of us condescendingly. Then the female elf took him by the hands and led him away, his chains jingling as they dragged across the ground.
It would make more sense to follow Tasia since Vivec was highly dangerous to me, but I was very certain that she’d end up eating him anyway, and Wraith was too interesting to leave alone. I’d met few carnivorous elves besides myself, and I was only one because I’d had to eat meat to survive when I was alone and insane in the Spine. I watched Tasia go, who was being trailed by Ava, and then turned to follow Tasalae. Kano remained behind with Nasuada, who I was more than happy to get away from.
I followed Tasalae at a distance for some time, watching Wraith. He walked proudly, looming over the female elf, and allowed her to lead him without any signs of rebellion. But then again, that kind of thing would certainly end up with his head rolling across the dirt. I ignored the Varden soldiers I passed, only watching Wraith’s back. We walked for several minutes until we arrived at one of the Varden’s many infirmary tents, where four nurses were bustling about. They shot one glance at Wraith and immediately bolted off, muttering and apologizing about other patients that needed immediate attention. I couldn’t stop the faint smile that flickered onto my lips. Tasalae led the zombie inside, who had to duck his head to enter, and I followed, slipping in after them.
The tent wasn’t for emergencies, so it was empty of stretchers and the like, and entirely deserted. There were a few tables with grimy medical instruments laid onto them, and some stains of blood here and there. The Varden didn’t have time to worry about cleanliness, it seemed. Tasalae led Wraith to a table empty of objects and had him sit down onto it. Then she turned, and appeared to notice me for the first time.
“Watch him. I must fetch the healers.” I nodded silently, leaning against the tent pole, and she slipped past me and out of the tent, leaving me alone with Wraith. He ignored me for a minute or so, simply glancing curiously around the interior of the tent. Then he inhaled deeply, and wrinkled his nose in disgust.
“You. Fleshling.” Clearly, he was addressing me. I stirred and glanced at him. “Does being cleaned up include getting new clothes? I stink like an animal.” “I’m a scientist, not a delivery boy.” “And my wounds are deep. If I do not feed soon, I will die.” I thought for a moment. “I can feed you that kid you got stuck with.” He chuckled deep in his throat. “You do not much care for him.” “No, no, I don’t.” There was silence for a moment before he spoke again. “How will this interrogation proceed?” “Simple. We chat you up, and decide if you live or not.” He chuckled again.
Tasalae returned just then, two female healers trailing after her. I would have offered to help heal Wraith, but my magical abilities mostly regarded inflicting pain, not removing it. Tasalae immediately went to stand next to Wraith, hand on the hilt of her jewelled sword. The healers were complete opposites- one was tall, thin and very birdlike, looking like she was about to fly off at any moment, while the other was small, plump, and seemed completely comfortable with Wraith. They approached him, grabbing one arm each, and set to work healing him. They started at his face and worked down from there. When they reached his arms, the plump one looked at me.
“The chains are digging into his wrists. May we cut them?” “Sure. Remember, Wraith, if you try anything…” “I understand. However, regarding your previous statement, I suspect you’ll kill me no matter what I say or do.” Wraith paid no heed to the chains being snapped and laid at his feet. His face was completely clear of his scars now, revealing the bold, handsome appearance so common to elves, even undead ones, it seemed. “But I severely doubt my superiors will be pleased about that. Such a quaint little camp you have here. It would be such a shame to see it obliterated.” “So you’re suggesting that if we don’t spare your life, that’ll come to pass?” “Hmm. Perhaps.”
Tasalae removed her sword and held it at Wraith’s throat at that point, so I didn’t bother replying to him. I just watched in silence as the rest of his wounds were healed. Then, the healers brought out sponges and buckets filled with water, and started to clean him up, removing the grime and dried blood. After that, they brought out fresh clothes, some tan-coloured breeches, shoes, and a tunic that Wraith glared at.
“Ridiculous clothing. Might you all at least turn away while I change?” “Sorry, buddy, but you’re under constant watch. I’m a man and those two are nurses, so you should only worry about the lady over here.” I jerked my chin in Tasalae’s direction. He grumbled and changed nonetheless. His body bore no differences to the usual elven male’s, bar a tiny purple tattoo of a crown on his neck that all zombies had. When he was finished, he seated himself on the table again. He was right; most elves did look a little ridiculous in human clothing, especially in peasant tweeds.
The two nurses bowed politely to me and Tasalae before departing. Then, it was several minutes of uncomfortable silence during which I continued to lean against the tent pole and watch Wraith, while Tasalae inspected her sword. Finally, Nasuada, Kano, the Nighthawks, and from the sound of it, even more people behind them, entered the tent.
“Ah, Lady Nasuada. I do believe it is customary among humans to shake hands?” Wraith stood abruptly and took a long leap towards Nasuada, stopping a yard away from her and extending a pale, clawed hand towards her. Immediately, swords, pikes, and axes were out, all pointed at Wraith. Nasuada didn’t take his hand.
“Just a little Imperial humour.” He started cackling like a maniac, clasping both hands behind his back. Once he had calmed down a little, he said, “So, what would you like to hear?”
Words;; 1242 Muse;; Very sleepy. Thoughts;; Everything's good, except it was kind of rushed. And Kano, I'm sorry we left you out, but don't just have your character stand to the side, make him get involved, say stuff, make people notice him. I'm pulling all this crap out of my butt and putting Remy in unpleasant situations and that's how my posts are so long. XD

*Ava smiles at Tasia and nods as she suddenly breaks through Vivec's barriers. Her eyes flutter as she suddenly sees many scenes and many thoughts... She shakes her head as a flood of knowledge that she needs flies into her head...
He is a Tribunal agent... His full name is Vivec Tok'ra Amaunet, and he is a measly 15 years old, though has been trained from the age of 5... He is a recent admitent to the Tribunal, and son of a wealthy Uru'baen nobleman...
Now the thoughts turn to the Tribunal...
They are a 50 man strong unit... The names of the men flood into her mind... She stores them for later... They recently pulled a mission in Feinstar that failed... Remy is an operative for them... They kill all captured Vardeners...
This is a fact that she makes note of to tell Nasuada.
Remy is now the topic of the thoughts...
Remy is a Twin Lamps Scientist as well as a Tribunal spy... He has a werecat companion that was a prisoner of Malandra at one point... Vivec wonders about the man, because he has two peculiarites... One of those is a metallic arm... the other is a gedwey insignia!
The shock goes through Ava's mind momentarily... That was unexpected... He doesn't seem like a Rider to her... Though... He might be old enough that he was around in the time of the fall, but that was hard to tell, even for elves.
Ava looks at the man in Tasia's arms and whispers into Vivec's ears*
You will not survive this day, young Vivec Tok'ra Amaunet... You will recieve the same treatment you dealt out... However, you were just very helpful to the Varden, so I will not leave you thinking. However, something has to be done, and I will have my vengeance... So, I will turn off the part of your brain that regulates fear, and leave you to wonder... "What WILL the Varden do to me?"... Fear the day that you find out...
*With that, Ava says...*
Haina!
*She intends to do as she said, to turn off the part of his mind that regulates fear, and easily slips past his already broken defenses and harms his mind, giving Vivec a sharp pain, then Ava leaves him to his wondering.
Ava turns to Tasia and smiles, then stands on her tip toes and whispers to her, though loud enough to make Vivec hear.*
He is all yours, my dear. I have extracted all useful information. Though, if you do not want to have fun with him, that... Wraith could always use something to eat. Somehow I doubt he sticks to berries...
*Ava smirks and touches Tasia's mind*
I have turned off the fear center of his brain. He is an interesting teenager, and I have pulled much information off of him about the Tribunal that I will report to Nasuada. I do have one question, however. What do you know of Remy's past?
Also... Enjoy taunting him. He cant stop thinking about it. Ever.
*Ava chuckles softly, thinking it a fitting punishment for a soul as black as Vivec's, as well as making him an example in her mind for all the Tribunal agents she will never be able to do such things to.*
(( Thanks to Em for all the information gained off of Vivec! ))

Nasuada _____ _____ _____ _____ Tasia did not care much about getting things from his mind, but she let the other elf do it with ease. She also wanted to know more about this Remy, she did not know much, but she had a feeling she would find out more tonight. She held the guy, watched as the elf finished and then he seemed to have no fear. She smiled, growled in his ear slightly, snapping her teeth right next to it and licking her lips. Nasuada would not be happy if she ate her only human in her little jail. She looked back to see Tasalae and Remy taking the other 'elf' and then went on through the crowd. She was more then just someone to take the young man, she was also his protector... The Varden would kill him, even she knew this.
Tasalae finished with the elf, kept a close eye on him as Nasuada came in, the guards coming with her. She looked at the elf as he offered his hand for a hand shake, but she just merely looked at him, not showing any interest in him. She did not plan on releasing him, but if she got the information, she might allow such a... thing... to live, however, she doubted the Queen of elves or Tasalae would like that very much.
"Tell me everything," She looked him dead in the eye and she waited for him to speak. She signaled all of them to lower the weapons and she waited for him to answer her. She looked at Tasalae, who's hands were crossed, only the knowing Nasuada knew that two daggers were just under her fingers, hidden by her long black tight skin tunic. Tasalae was a master at welding the weapons, making them and using them for death. She was patient, but even this elf gave her a edge, she did not like someone who worked for the empire, this elf included.

I glanced around the interior of the tent, which was now entirely empty. The amount of people gathered at the very entrance, though, made me tilt my head in wonder. News of Wraith was spreading fast, apparently. A massive crowd was lifting up the edges of the tent to poke their curious heads inside. Nasuada and Tasalae were both giving Wraith utterly cold stares, while the Nighthawks tried to look on while pushing the crowd back, their expressions mixtures of fear, curiosity, and hatred. I couldn’t resist moving a little closer to observe the proceedings.
“Tell me everything,” said Nasuada coldly, not moving. Wraith cocked his head at this, staring down at her from his towering height with a hard expression. He was about a head taller than she was. However, despite the obvious condescending look he was giving at her, I could sense that something was a little bit off. He wasn’t holding himself with such nobility anymore. He seemed weakened, somehow. Maybe he’d been right about not feeding in a long time. Still, though, he seemed determined to answer Nasuada.
“Everything is rather a lot, my Lady. Fish in a pond, busy, busy, lots to do, here and there. Dry as a desert outside, no place to go. Eat up, get stronger, think and hope, think and hope. Don’t look now! Oh, keep dreaming. There must be some other reason for your existence. Defiance tastes like life itself. No river. No water. Die in the desert. Dirt is all around. The harvest moon is rising. The Empire is never-ending. We’ll be here for weeks on end, milady.”
I was somewhat baffled by his little speech. Either not eating was addling his brain, or he was toying with Nasuada. Or maybe both. I stepped even closer, leaning right against the frame that supported the tent’s entrance, only a steps away from Nasuada and Wraith.
“Then I’ll specify,” I said. “Why don’t you start with telling us about how you came to be in our possession?” “Ask those ridiculous soldiers of yours.” “Let’s hear it from your side.” Wraith rolled his shoulders backwards and sighed. “Rather boring compared to what else I know. It was just a terror mission. Lurk around, scare up a few villagers, make some babies cry.” “You did far more than just terrorize a few villagers,” said a Kull coldly. “Of course, my good brute, my less intelligent companions indulged in their invincibility a little too much and didn’t return to base. We ran into that little platoon of yours and attacked. But we were outnumbered, and they knew how to deal with our kind, so my fellows were slaughtered and I was captured.” He yawned, as if to illustrate just how dreary the whole story was. “I ended up back here to get a hole bored in my head by the eyes of this leader of yours. Can I eat now?” “Where were you before you got sent out?” I asked. “Oh, up north a bit… no, I don’t eat fruit, thank you.” He shooed away a little boy who was holding a couple of apples up to him. “But are those from Melian? I understand they’re just as tasty as the farmers who grow them.”
The tension that fell on the crowd was so thick it could be cut with a knife. The little boy who’d offered the apples hid behind someone’s legs. I knew very little about the Laughing Dead. I didn’t know if Wraith actually ate people or if he was just scaring the Varden for his own amusement. Malandra had had several experiments that she absolutely forbade me to touch or even look at when I’d been working with her. And it was hard to get past that woman, to say the least. She’d hated me already for not being attracted to that faultless body of hers, not to mention stealing her werecat. The Laughing Dead had been one of those experiments, and the only parts I ever got to see of them in her laboratories were the remains of failed tests and torn and bloody bodies littering the floor. The memory of it briefly made bile rise in my throat, but I forced it down. We knew nearly nothing about Wraith’s kind, not to mention that elven Laughing Dead were apparently different from human zombies. And he probably knew everything- he’d survived Malandra, and now he was surviving the Varden.
“You didn’t answer my question,” I said awkwardly, to ease the mood a bit. “Yes I did. I said I was up north, going through villages there. That’s all I did ever since Doctor Ramakrishna deemed me ready to join the rest of her creations.” “And what happened while you were… ‘in the Doctor’s care’?” I asked, realizing I was the only one mustering up the courage to speak. That Malandra had been so tight on everyone calling her ‘Doctor’ that it was stuck in my head now. But then I guess she didn’t go to evil medical school for so many years just so everyone could call her ‘Miss’, ‘Malandra’, or, my personal favourite, ‘Psycho Bitch’.
However, Wraith didn’t get to answer me. At that moment, a tiny messenger attempted to charge through the Nighthawks, whimpering as he squeezed past the Kull and then whimpering louder when he saw Wraith. He was even younger than Vivec, maybe twelve or thirteen, and looked like he was about to pass out from exhaustion. Or a heart attack, since Wraith was staring at him the same way someone might look at a hunk of roast beef. A disturbing grin was on his face, revealing his pointed teeth once again.
“Uhh… milady, it’s time for your weekly army inspection. The soldiers are all nicely lined up for you. But if you’re busy…” his voice trailed off in a whine as he shot another glance at Wraith. “I’d be more than happy to tell them to wait a little. I’m sure Jormundur wouldn’t blame you for…” he broke off again, and he was staring at Wraith, but this time there was no fear in his eyes, just confusion. I followed his gaze.
Wraith had completely changed. There was no more condescending nobility, no knowing smile. He was doubled over, gripping one of the tables, his breath suddenly coming in long, choking gasps. His reptilian eyes were wide, and the slitted pupils had dilated so much that his eyes were almost completely black. His coal-black claws dug into the soft wood of the table, which was starting to crack under the pressure of his hands. With a snap, the chunk he was clinging to broke off, and he fell to his knees.
“What’s wrong with him?” demanded Nasuada. “I think he really is hungry, milady.” I murmured. “Healing his outer injuries isn’t good enough, he’s probably still bleeding from the inside…” I suddenly brightened. Here was my chance to get rid of Vivec. “Milady, why don’t we fetch… eh, what was her name, Tasia? I’m sure feeding her prisoner to Wraith will give us an opportunity for more information. I’ll even get her for you.”
Words;; 1190 Muse;; Sleepy. But wewt, dialogue practice! Thoughts;; Yay for stealing from SGA!

*Ava smiles at Tasia as she snaps her teeth by Vivec's head, and at how Vivec starts to deteriorate in her arms. This was somehow fitting in Ava's mind, because of the sheer brutality of the man and his organization. She is satisfied with the information she gleaned from him, and decides to move to the tent where Wraith is being interrogated by Nasuada and Remy, to both hear what information they are gaining, and to report to Nasuada.
She soon finds, as she is walking towards the tent, that she is not alone in wanting to hear what Wraith is saying. She sighs at the crowd and watches the Kulls of the Nighthawks pushing the humans back. She decides that, while she could normally push her way through the humans and probably one or two Kull, she couldn't push through both at once. So, instead, she gathers the magic inside her and utters a word of the Ancient Language.*
Rakr!
*She speaks the word of Mist with power, and in doing so becomes incorporeal, drifting slowly between and through the crowd and into the tent. She then smiles at Nasuada, seemingly a ghost, then releases the magic by uttering*
Losna!
*She becomes corporeal again an inch above the ground and lands with grace, before bowing to Nasuada.*
My lady, I have extracted the information from one Vivec Tok'ra Amaunet, the Imperial Spy, and can debrief you fully on his information without him. You may do with him what you please.
*She laughs as she hears Remy's idea and nods profusely*
Oh, yes, that would indeed be fitting. I have taken all information from him through the use of Magic, as well as shut off the fear-control center of his mind. So, give him to Wraith.
*She then grins at Wraith.*
Please, friend, take your time with our young spy. He is good meat, and will taste exquisite for you, I think...

Nasuada _____ _____ _____ _____ The news about Wraith was something that traveled faster then fire in camp, in fact, it was possible all the way in Aberon now instead of just in the outside of the city. She saw children and she watched as Tasalae spoke silently, making the tent stay on the ground. Nasuada was getting annoyed by the people trying to see the living dead and she honestly did not want to deal with them until she dealt with this one. She had asked about everything, wanting to know about the empire more or less, but it seemed that this dead elf had his own plan and it was annoying her, but she hid the annoyance as much as possible. He had tilted his head at her, towering over her, that was for sure and she did not care, showed no fear to him. He looked weak to her, even Tasalae thought so, she was talking to her through her mind, it was easy for the three of them, they had become good friends. We’ll be here for weeks on end, milady.” The speech was long and very boring in her opinion. It was also kind of confusing, but then again, she did not to show her annoyance or confusion, just glanced at Remy.
“Then I’ll specify,” Nasuada looked at him, this elf knew what she was speaking of, he was just being a annoying being. “Why don’t you start with telling us about how you came to be in our possession?” It was a very wanting thing to know, of course, he answered that it was her soldiers and she leaned against one of the tables, Tasalae looked at him, standing tall as she did. He then spoke about the mission, how it was meant only to scare and then how they came to be on her soldier and how her men knew how to handle them. He then yawn and went on, asking for food and a young man brought some apples. Nasuada had a feeling he would not accept such food. She saw the fear run through the young man, however, she did not say anything, showed nothing and Tasalae moved him out, closing the curtain to the holding tent. He then said he had not answered his question.
“Yes I did. I said I was up north, going through villages there. That’s all I did ever since Doctor Ramakrishna deemed me ready to join the rest of her creations.” Wraith called that... Thing a doctor and how much she disagreed with him. She looked at Remy and waited for him to answer the next question. She want to know as much as possible about this good for nothing elf that was probably going to be in the even. As he did not answer, a young boy came in and she turned to look at him.
“Uhh… milady, it’s time for your weekly army inspection. The soldiers are all nicely lined up for you. But if you’re busy…” Nasuada glanced at Wraith and then the boy, showing she was busy. “I’d be more than happy to tell them to wait a little. I’m sure Jormundur wouldn’t blame you for…” She nodded and sent him away and she looked back at Wraith, who seemed very weak, knelt over a table.
“What’s wrong with him?” It was demand to know and she waited. Ava had come in now and she looked at her quickly.
"My lady, I have extracted the information from one Vivec Tok'ra Amaunet, the Imperial Spy, and can debrief you fully on his information without him. You may do with him what you please." She nodded at her and then heard what Remy said about using him for a meal. It was a horrible idea, but she nodded, knowing that he would only end upo being killed anyway. She looked at Tasalae who nodded, not even moving before she focused back on Nasuada again, after looking at Wraith.
"She is bring him now,"
She nodded and Tasalae went to the tent entrance to wait for her. It was not a very hard thing to do, talk through the mind, but even Nasuada did not find it easy, being a human. If she was a elf, it was easy and Tasalae was the one to start the conversation. The people were moving outside, their voices were loud as she knew Tasia was returning and she turned to see her bring a very new young spy. "Take him," She was not very happy, she had been enjoying the fun she had been having. Nasuada knew she would never kill a human, but it was fun to play with them more and more. She liked deer and elk from Du Weldenvarden then anything else. [/blockquote]

As Wraith struggled to regain his composure, something interesting happened. A tiny fog bank rolled into the tent, easily passing through the assembled crowd and making its way towards Nasuada. When it reached her, a word of power was spoken, and Ava appeared, hovering an inch in the air. She landed delicately and bowed, grinning wolfishly. Behind her, Tasia appeared, holding Vivec and looking more than a little put out for some reason.
“My lady, I have extracted the information from one Vivec Tok’ra Amaunet, the Imperial spy, and can debrief you fully on his information without him. You may do with him what you please.” She then looked at me, eyes gleaming, and laughed an elfish, tinkling little laugh. “Oh, yes, that would indeed be fitting. I have taken all information from him through the use of magic, as well as shut off the fear-control center of his mind. So, give him to Wraith. Please, friend, take your time with our young spy. He is good meat, and will taste exquisite for you, I think...”
From what I’d seen of Wraith’s personality so far, I’d have expected him to make some kind of wry response, but he was still bent over double in pain. I glanced back at Vivec, who looked completely different. There was no fear in his eyes, no spoiled gleam, just emptiness. The last time I’d seen Vivec expressionless had been, well, never. Ava clearly hadn’t been lying about shutting off his fear. I was surprised to find myself feeling bad. He was a spoiled brat and an imbecile, of course, but still so young, even for a human, and he certainly wasn’t evil. Few in the Empire were actually evil, I’d realized long ago, which had made working with Imperials all the time much easier. Otherwise, I supposed I’d be plotting to kill every single one of them like so many in Surda and the Varden were. They were insane, maybe- Malandra was an obvious one, and though the things she did were rather evil, she considered herself to be doing the right thing. As for Galbatorix, I was probably the only one who could understand his madness. I had gone through his personal hell when Vanyali had died. Except where he’d destroyed an entire order in revenge, I’d worn a grass skirt and hooted like a monkey while traipsing through the Spine, trying to convince myself that my dragon wasn’t dead. Though I understood him, there were things he needed to atone for, which I intended to see through to the end.
But that hardly meant that others had to suffer for him, including, I supposed, stupid human adolescents like Vivec. But the consequences that would arise from letting him go or otherwise going easy on him were too severe. If he left here alive, he’d certainly tell the Tribunal what he’d learned about me, and even if he didn’t, it would be extracted from his brain by mages. Besides that, Nasuada might see my show of mercy as a sign that I was against the Varden, and I’d likely be executed on the spot. And Wraith, despite his façade of stupidity, knew plenty about Malandra that even I didn’t. So, it was decided. Wraith would have to be fed, and now was not the time for me to grow a conscience.
I approached Vivec, taking him by the shoulders, and marched him over to Wraith. The young boy’s eyes were still empty, and he didn’t even blink when Wraith finally looked up at him. Instead, in a strange, resigned sort of way, he stood to attention and lifted his chin, baring his throat. Wraith smiled coldly, chuckling softly, and, gripping the legs of the broken table, forced himself to his feet. He watched Vivec with a critical eye.
“He is weak,” he grumbled, “but beggars cannot be choosers.”
The feeding was gruesome, to put it mildly. I hardly got my hands off Vivec’s shoulders by the time Wraith lunged at him, snatching his throat with his vampire fangs and snapping it. Vivec crumpled with a scream, and Wraith swarmed over him, still clinging to his throat with his jaws. I wasn’t sure exactly how he ate- he didn’t rip up his body parts like some kind of monster, and he didn’t drink his blood, he just kind of bit deeply while Vivec cried out and twitched on the floor. As Wraith bit, Vivec began to change. He suddenly lost his acne, and his features became less babyish, more grown-up. Then, just as quickly, his skin started to sag, and wrinkles appeared around his mouth and eyes. His hair began to grey, his eyes went pale blue with blindness, and his boyish cries became the croaks of an old man. Then, finally, he shrivelled up, becoming an empty husk, and lay silent. Wraith pulled away, wiping the blood off his chin with his sleeve.
“Well now. You can’t say he didn’t live a long life.” He laughed, and then belched. “Excuse me.” He wiped his chin again.
It was so quiet; you could have heard a pin drop in the tent. No one even breathed. It took me a moment to realize that I had been holding my own breath during the feeding, and I gasped softly, clearing my throat. Wraith was watching me and Nasuada expectantly. The whole thing had left me speechless, though, and she probably was too, so he must have figured he could talk all on his own. He stood tall; all of his composure regained, and met each horrified, curious, and wary gaze evenly with his yellow eyes.
“Now, I have gotten rid of a rather pesky Imperial spy for the lot of you, don’t you agree? I know this because I was privy to his memories while I fed. Rather interesting ones, in fact. I have done two things for you now. I shall tell you one more thing, and then I wish to be set free. If you lie to me and draw your weapons, it shall not bode well for the Varden. Especially not for you.” He stared at me. I realized he must have gotten information on me while he ate, if it could be called eating. “Alright,” I said hollowly, “talk.” “At this upcoming summit between you and the Empire that Lady Nasuada so generously suggested, on this… crop infestation that you worry about so much, know that something unpleasant will happen. Something unprecedented that involves the Eldunarí.” I drew a blank. “What are Eldunarí?” “I told you one thing. A rather important thing, too. I gave you a warning about your pathetic little summit. Now you’ll uphold your end of the bargain and set me free. And like it.” “You didn’t tell us anything!” cried a voice I recognized as Davenport’s. He had poked his head into the tent as well. “That’s all and well about the summit, but what about you? How many of you are there? How many more is she making? When are you making another attack on us? How are you-” “I am a lowly captain, just like you, fleshling,” said Wraith tiredly. “I am not privy to information like that. All I know is what I overheard while in one of the Doctor’s cells or while she was experimenting on me. I killed a spy for you, I managed to restrain myself from killing any of you, and I gave you fair warning about the upcoming summit. You can release me and happily go on with your short lives.”
Resignedly, I glanced at Nasuada. At this point, I was confused, shaken, and I just wanted to lie down and sleep for a few days. I wanted to release Wraith. Despite being an obvious danger to us all, he was an enigma, and I wanted to see what he could do if he was allowed to live. Besides that, he didn’t seem to hold any particular love for the Empire or hatred towards the Varden. And if we lied to him and killed him despite our agreement, that didn’t make us any better than the Empire. But the choice was Nasuada’s, not mine, and so I didn’t bother to voice my opinions.
“What do you say, Miss Nightstalker?” I asked quietly. “Is he off the hook?”
Words;; 1387 Muse;; Very SGA-oriented, if it wasn't obvious. Thoughts;; Er... none? XD

*Ava watches as Remy takes Vivec and put him infront of Wraith, shaking her head.
This was probably going to be nasty... But what did I do? I walked in here to watch! Dumb dumb dumb...! Oh well. I've seen worse...
Then it began, and a lot less violently than Ava expected. She expected blood to fly everywhere with chunks of meat, but this was very civilized. However, the affect upon Vivec was not. She watched, half intrigued and half revolted, as the boy became older and older the longer that Wraith had his teeth in him. She remembers hearing, in fictious works, about "wraiths" that stole life from you when they so much as touched you, and this creature definately fit THAT bill...
She breathes and blinks when he is done. She hadnt been conceously holding her breath, but it definately helped observing. She shakes her head when he makes his smartass comments then tilts his head when he offers information up, since he fed now. He starts off his information fairly easily, and all of it makes sense until the end, with the... "Eldunari". This doesnt make sense to her, so she steps forwards to ask, but is cut-off by Remy, who was asking the same question. Of course, he didn't answer, he just demanded that we let him go, as our bargain with him went. The interuptions by others was bothersome, and prompted an odd response from Wraith. Then she looks to Remy and Nasuada, brushing their barriers lightly so that they might let her in enough to send a message, then gently sends the thought to them.*
Is it just me, or is he saying that the trouble will probably come from Ramakashira? If he overheard it in his cells, then she was probably at least privy to the conversation...
*Ava turns back to Wraith and just silently waits for Nasuada's choice, either freeing him or killing him. Despite his protests, Ava thinks that between everyone in the room, they could probably defeat him, but that was more than likely unlikely to even start.*

Nasuada _____ _____ _____ _____ Nasuada watched as Remy came towards Tasia and Vivec, having a sick feeling in her stomach already. Tasalae had ordered everyone away, in fact, most were leaving, since they had seen what they wanted to see and that was the dead elf. She looked from Tasalae to Wraith and she waited, seeing what would happen as he lifted himself, looking at the elf that had once possible been respectable by everyone, probably knew the Queen, and was possible a friend of the Dragon riders long ago, but that was gone it seemed. “He is weak,” His own body was weak, why should he be grumbling about anything at this moment, he was possible going to be killed anyway. “but beggars cannot be choosers.” She let out a slight sigh before catching her breath, watching as he lunged at the young man before them. Tasalae and Tasia watched with emotionless eyes. She felt both Tasalae and Tasia brushing her mind and she blinked her eyes to concentrate on them.
"Yes?"
Nasuada glanced at Tasia first before moving her eyes back on the aging boy before her. She knew Tasia would be the first to speak as the three were silently standing there, watching the meal go. "You two are evil! I was starving and you let this... Thing have my lunch," Nasuada could not help but smile at Tasia as she watched the aging man before her grow old. Tasalae sent her own laugh through the pools of thoughts, but as Nasuada looked at her, her face was emotionless, even her own eyes. "Go hunting tonight, I know you do not eat fruit, but even you need a well balanced diet, so come to my tent tonight and we will have a normal dinner and then you can go and eat," She could hear the satisfaction in her thoughts and then she went back to the elf before her. She watched as Vivec became nothing more then a silent, dead, old man and she looked up at Wraith, waiting to hear what he had to say next. She had a feeling it would be something beyond stupid and unhelpful. “Well now. You can’t say he didn’t live a long life.” She rolled her eyes slightly, but looked dead at him, feeling the silence in the room, though, in her eyes, Tasalae and Tasia were speaking of way to end his life, wanting nothing more then to do such a thing. “Excuse me.” His belch was nothing more then that and Nasuada could careless about the excuse he gave afterwards. She watched him whip his chin of the blood and then she looked at Remy. He was silently, looked shocked as he kept the silence in the room well... Silent. It was rather night to not hear anything, but the mood in the room was still completely tense, but Tasalae and Tasia were both as calm as ever in their own mind and Nasuada was more then happy to feel the calmness. Wraith was watching the two of them, but Nasuada did nothing but glance at him, her own body was completely and utterly patient at the moment, calm and emotionless. Remy, however, had let out a small breath that he had been holding and she could not help but smile. Was he going to say something or just sit there. Especially not for you.” He had taken care of the business that Nasuada did not have to do anymore, however, a threat was no way to ensure of the freedom he was seeking. Honestly, he was already learning to much for them and she had a very important task for Tasalae and Tasia to do after this and that was to kill him. In fact, she planned on ordered all four of the elves to take him, since they were stronger then herself. "Alright... Talk," Nasuada glanced at Remy, before looking between Tasalae and Tasia, their own thoughts racing between her own mind. They were planning on killing him, they did not care about the information they received, or the dangers they would be in... The Varden was already in danger for being against the empire, one less mouth to feed for the empire would be helping them more then anything. “At this upcoming summit between you and the Empire that Lady Nasuada so generously suggested, on this… crop infestation that you worry about so much, know that something unpleasant will happen. Something unprecedented that involves the Eldunarí.” Tasalae and Tasia both knew what it was, they looked between each other and she knew that they were listening intently. As Nasuada listened to them speak, she found out for herself what a Eldunari was and she watched as Remy asked. He was a elf and he did not know. “I told you one thing. A rather important thing, too. I gave you a warning about your pathetic little summit. Now you’ll uphold your end of the bargain and set me free. And like it.” She growled slightly and was about to say something when another voice rang in, stating that the dead elf had not stated everything. “I am a lowly captain, just like you, fleshling,” She was really getting tired of the fleshling stuff. “I am not privy to information like that. All I know is what I overheard while in one of the Doctor’s cells or while she was experimenting on me. I killed a spy for you, I managed to restrain myself from killing any of you, and I gave you fair warning about the upcoming summit. You can release me and happily go on with your short lives.” Nasuada looked at him before she glanced at Remy, his own eyes on her. “What do you say, Miss Nightstalker?” She looked at him before looking back at Wraith. “Is he off the hook?” She looked at Remy, glancing at Tasia and Tasalae before looking at Ava who was brushing the minds of Tasalae and Tasia and allowing her to listen to her. "Is it just me, or is he saying that the trouble will probably come from Ramakashira? If he overheard it in his cells, then she was probably at least privy to the conversation..." Nasuada agreed with Ava that it was the 'Doctor' who would be making the trouble about the Eldunari. She looked at Remy and watched as Tasalae touched his mind gently, send a message. "I am leaving, you, Tasalae, Tasia, and Ava are to destroy him... He knows too much about our camp and if we let him go we are just handing over a weapon... He has no feeling, he is nothing but a spy, a killer, and a weaon." She turned, feeling a hand on her shoulder, which was Tasalae and she looked into her friends eyes. "Do it." She walked out, joining her guards as they moved through the camp. ~~~~~ ~~~~~ Tasalae and Tasia drew swords, looking at Remy, waiting for him to do it also. They were not letting a weapon go, not for anything. Tasia smiled devilishly, Tasalae looked at him with emotionless eyes. "You are nothing but a weapon for the empire, but we thank you for the kind offer of information Wraith." Tasalae held her sword with mastered hands as she looked at him. Tasia held her own sword with the same knowing hands, but it was more rigid over the pommel, showing the animals hands she had developed. [/blockquote]

I couldn’t shake off the bad vibe I was getting about Wraith’s fate. I had seen the glances shot between Nasuada and her two cronies, and I knew they were mentally conversing, doubtlessly about Wraith. All three of them were dead-eyed, though, so it was impossible to tell whether they would hold to the promise or not. However, before I could mentally demand to know what Nasuada was thinking, I felt another consciousness brush against mine. I did a quick scan, and recognized it as Ava, so I let her in.
Is it just me, or is he saying that the trouble will probably come from Ramakrishna? If he overheard it in his cells, then she was probably at least privy to the conversation… I don’t know, I replied, getting the feeling that this was being broadcast into Nasuada and the other two elves’ minds as well. I have… met with her on several occasions, and she never mentioned an Eldunarí. But it’s possible. Then I felt Nasuada’s presence. I am leaving you, Tasalae, Tasia, and Ava to destroy him. He knows too much about our camp and if we let him go we are just handing over a weapon… He has no feelings; he is nothing but a spy, a killer, and a weapon. Do it.
“You are nothing but a weapon for the empire, but we thank you for the kind offer of information, Wraith.” Tasia was smiling like a homicidal maniac, while Tasalae’s voice was like an icy blade. They drew their swords, and looked to me to do the same. Ava, meanwhile, looked unsure of what to do. Wraith raised his eyebrows, but didn’t seem all that surprised. He just shook his head. “Honour. Such a hard thing to come by these days.”
My reaction was one that surprised even me. It was anger. No, rage. Nasuada was certainly annoying on several levels, but I’d never felt a fury of this scale. This was cold. Cold enough to rival even Princess Arya’s frosty heart. I glared at Nasuada’s back as the coward turned away, striding out of the tent with her guards, leaving me and the three female elves alone with Wraith. I licked my lips, and opened my mind to the three elves and Nasuada, letting my anger simmer into them and knowing full well of the consequences that would arise from what I was about to say. I’d probably be killed. Or expelled from the Varden, at least. But it was just too damn fun to turn down.
He knows too much about our camp, does he, you stone cold bitch? Her shock, and the elves’, pleased me. Exactly what has he learned? Nothing the Imperials don’t already know, since he saw nothing of our camp except the inside of a medical tent. He learned about me, perhaps, but what do you care? All your loyal followers are just animals to you. All he’s learned of the Varden is that we are dishonourable dogs just like Galbatorix. We break our promises. He kept his word, he hurt no one, he is a living, breathing, thinking being, and you turn your back on him and sic your pet elves on him. He clearly doesn’t much care for the Empire, and he holds nothing against us, but because of your idiotic prejudices, now he does have a reason to hate us. He’s a weapon for the Empire, you say. Aren’t I a weapon for you? Aren’t Tasalae and Tasia weapons for you? Exactly what kind of leader are you, pray tell? What makes you so different from Galbatorix? You, milady, lack mercy, compassion, forgiveness, and rationality, just like he does. You have proven to me that the Varden is just as pitiful and narrow-minded as I have always made it out to be, as are you. And I promise you right here and now, I will not obey a self-centered, cruel, mindless control freak like you. And I’m not afraid of homicidal werewolves and heartless wenches, I added, feeling Tasalae and Tasia’s hot anger washing over me. And so, ladies, I have one thing to say to you- go to hell. And with that, I broke the link and raised very, very thick barriers around my mind.
“I will not,” I announced out loud, and folded my hands. “I will kill in self-defence and when it is justified, ladies, but I do not murder.” “So honour is not entirely lost to us, it seems.” Wraith turned to Tasia and Tasalae. “I have no intention of taking on a pair of armed elves. I am deeply disappointed. I thought your kind and your Varden was more humane than this. Farewell.”
Tasia and Tasalae circled him in an attempt to cut off his escape, swords whooshing through the still air of the tent, but he was fast, even for an elf. As he nimbly dodged each blow, I couldn’t help but feel a magnificent high. It had been a while since I’d blown off steam like that. I felt a wonderful rush. I leaned against the tent pole as Wraith danced away from the blows, each movement graceful and slick like only an elf’s could be. Eventually, though, the two closed in on him, driving him into a corner, but with a graceful leap he avoided them, and made a break for the tent entrance.
“Thank you, my good man. And woman.” Ava hadn’t attacked him either. “Your mercy won’t be forgotten.” He bowed, and then punched the tent pole, snapping it in half. The entire tent came crashing down on our heads, leaving me fumbling in the yellow mass of cloth. Eventually I had to unsheathe my sabre and tear the fabric with it, making for the sunlight outside.
I emerged just in time to see Wraith fleeing, his white hair fanning out behind him as he ran. Surdan and Varden soldiers were hot on his trail, but he was easily losing them. I sat on a long table, which was set with food and drinks for dinner, as I watched the spectacle. It ended with Wraith disappearing into the forest with at least ten platoons in pursuit of him. I picked up a glass of wine and sipped it, and never felt more relaxed in my life. Detoxification was a good word for it. Nasuada would murder me for what I’d said to her, but if I somehow survived, I would certainly have to do that more often.
Words;; 1082 Muse;; Interesting. XD Thoughts;; I wrote this post at 5:30 in the morning! Whoo!

Nasuada _____ _____ _____ _____ “Honour. Such a hard thing to come by these days.” Her mind was still linked to the conversation as she walked, allowing Tasalae to keep her in mind through the whole thing, but the presence of Remy came to her quickly. He was in raged because of the fact that Nasuada did not trust the dead elf for anything. She looked back for a moment as his anger was directed to her and she looked at him from the opening in the tent.
"He knows too much about our camp, does he, you stone cold bitch? Her shock, and the elves’, pleased me. Exactly what has he learned? Nothing the Imperials don’t already know, since he saw nothing of our camp except the inside of a medical tent. He learned about me, perhaps, but what do you care? Aren’t I a weapon for you? Aren’t Tasalae and Tasia weapons for you? Exactly what kind of leader are you, pray tell? What makes you so different from Galbatorix? You, milady, lack mercy, compassion, forgiveness, and rationality, just like he does. You have proven to me that the Varden is just as pitiful and narrow-minded as I have always made it out to be, as are you. And I promise you right here and now, I will not obey a self-centered, cruel, mindless control freak like you. And I’m not afraid of homicidal werewolves and heartless wenches," She felt the anger of Tasalae and Tasia come and go, looking at him as he sent insults at all of them. She stood looking at them, not going back into the tent, just looking dead into his eyes, emotionless. She felt that Wraith was nothing more then a mindless Zombie and honestly, she knew that Tasalae and Tasia felt dishonored by the no good elf that was helping the empire as being their slave. Elves were free to do what ever, they were not pets and even she knew this. "And so, ladies, I have one thing to say to you- go to hell." His voice was gone from her own head and she knew that he was gone.
She did not move and then heard that he would do nothing. She looked at Tasalae and Tasia as they tried to kill the no good dead elf. As he made for a get away and Tasalae and Tasia broke through the tent as it barely touched their heads they watched as the soldiers went after them. "You did as you wanted, but did not succeed. I am sure the Queen will want to know about him also and I hope you can get in touch with her..."
"That no good, heartless elf-thing!" Tasia was as mad as ever, she never got this mad, but it did not matter anymore. Tasalae was keeping her from going after the beast. "No elf would want to be what he has become, they would do anything to keep from such a fate and yet, you allowed him to walk!" She looked at Remy, her own teeth bared, sharp teeth shining in the bright sunlight. "Do you have no honor is keep things like that away! Are you too self centered that you would allow such a thing to dishonor our own kind! She growled, Tasalae looked at her, emotionless eyes glanced at Nasuada who was completely calm.
"It is finished Tasia, you may go out if you wish to find them, I have no control over you or Tasalae, I only enjoy the company that you give, but thank you for trying to rid the elf world of that beast." She looked at Remy with dark brown eyes before she turned, a child running up to her before she picked up the child, kissing the tip of it's nose and walking. Tasia looked at her and did nothing but nod. She placed her sword in her sheath and got on all four legs with a leap into the air, running towards the woods that the others had gone in.
Her body was different then most elves, her limbs were different in a way that allowed her to run like a wolf. She ran quickly, hitting the woods in only thirty seconds and breaking her mental link with Nasuada. "I wish you luck my elf sister," Tasalae turned back to Nasuada who was being joined by the guards and she went a different direction, showing how much she was not controlled by Nasuada. She would send word to the Elf Queen quickly.

*Ava turns as she hears the orders to kill Wraith, and puts her hand on the hilt of her sword for a moment, weighing her options. She then discards the rediculous idea and turns to Nasuada.*
You don't pay me enough for this sot of job Nasuada. Not near enough. I will not sell my honor, or my sword for this sort of black, backstabbing murder.
You, Nasuada, will burn for eternity in the lowest pits of any hell that you believe in for actions like this.
*She looks and sees Tasia and Tasalae already near him and sees Remy simmering under the skin. They enter into combat with Wraith, though he does just dodge all of their moves. Ava smirks softly at the two females, shaking her head as she thinks in her most private areas of the mind,
You ladies should know better than that! But, I guess it has been a long time since you fought an elf in his or her prime, barring each other and that bitch Arya, hasnt it?
She feels Remy push against the defenses to let him in, and lets him to her public mind, and hears his thoughts. She generally agrees with him, fairly much without reservation. Remy had some perspective. Tasalae should as well, though she seems to have as much as the beast Tasia.
She hears raith as he praises Ava and Remy and bows back to him, then, as he breaks the tentpole, she drops unsheathes hersword, falls to her back and cuts as the tent falls on top of her, making a cut that she can quickly get out of. She gets out of it and sees Wraith begin a merry chase for Varden soldiers and shakes her head at the defenses of the camp as she sheathes her sword.
She hears Tasia cursing Wraith, then turns on Remy. "That no good, heartless elf-thing! No elf would want to be what he has become, they would do anything to keep from such a fate and yet, you allowed him to walk! No elf would want to be what he has become, they would do anything to keep from such a fate and yet, you allowed him to walk! Ava smirks at this, then walks quickly up to Tasia.*
Look whos talking, wolf-bitch! You fit "no good, heartless elf-thing" better than ANY of us gathered here at this point! "No elf would wantto be what he has become"? Really? He seems fairly content, as do you! Who knows why elves change themselves to what they are. For all YOU know, he CHOSE to become what he is now. Nothing can force us to become things we do not wish to be. Nothing! Capture us, change us, drug us, sure. But then we are useless. Capture us, Change us, and leave us whole, We will be able to kill ourselves, or get someone else to kill us. Think, Tasia, THINK!
*She then turns to Tasalae and walks to her*
And you! You should have more persective than her! You should have realized that murdering every soldier we get information from is the stupidest thing ever. Now hey will all avoid being captured even to death, which makes us EXACTLY like the fools we are trying t beat! If thathappens, the word spreads, and no one joins, andthen we DIE OUT. Which, would be the right thing if we took that action, but whatever. Think before you jump at orders!
*Ava steps back, nearly shaking with anger at the stupidity around her this day. She steps over to Remy and puts a hand on his shoulder and nods back to the lodgings.*
Lets go. If she has all the answers like she seems to, she needs neither of us for our information.
