Nasuada _____ _____ _____ _____ She moved over to the window of the castle where she watched the people below. Her beloved people, her wonderful rebels which she held greatly in her heart. She did not like being part of this war, but at the same time, she enjoyed the thought of putting that stupid king out of the world of life and sending him to a world of pain and hell. She wished so much he would do die, that Eragon would return with his head on a plater just for her and say the task is finished.
Eragon... She missed him more than anything. It had been days since she had seen him, her worry for him was mutral to many in the lands. She needed to know he was okay, to recieve something to say he was safe and that he would return to her soon. She did not understand why she worried for him so much, it was just something she had not been able to shake off. She was going crazy! Eragon and Saphira had been gone for too long without word, she felt like this everytime he left for more then two or three days.
She turned to the sound of someone coming into her room, a maid had brought her something to drink, which she had asked for a few hours ago, knowing it would take a while to go through her magicians to make sure posion had not been placed in the cool drink that the King had for her. She took the drink, gave the women a smile and a thanks before she placed the drink on the window ceil and looked around for a moment. She did not know what she needed to do, she knew she needed to return to her men, but she would need to prepare.

Kano walked through the city of Aberon, dark brown hair long and shaggy from a couple months of not having been cut. The back was pulled together so it was neat and not flying all over the place. His eyes wandered through the crowds as he saw different people. Shops and the smells of taverns reached his nose, but soon he passed by the castle, and couldn't help but feel like he was being watched. He looked up to inspect the castle, and he thought he noticed someone looking out from one of the windows.
He smiled slightly and continued forth until setting his large black cylindrical bag on the ground and resting against the wall of the castle. He sighed and pulled a map out, looking at it. "I sure hope I can find my way through this maze of a city..." He muttered to himself as he looked at the map, obviously in plain sight, especially from the castle.

Nasuada _____ _____ _____ _____ She watched many figured walk below her and one that even looked up towards her. She frowned a little, knowing someone had either seen her or was planning something. She grabbed her drink, throwing the contents to the ground and placing the glass on a table. She took her knives hiding two in her sleeves and then placing one in her sheath just next to her sword, which had been made special for herself.
She moved outside her room, closing the door and looking at her men. "We are going back to the army, I want to see my men." They did not argue, even though they wanted her safe, the kulls, dwarfs, and men moved with her down the halls and out the doors to the court yard, which would lead to the main gate. She signaled the men to open the gate, five or her ten guards going in front and then calling her on out. She moved, the Kull behind her staying close, his large body dwarfing her own.
She saw a man standing against the wall, her own hand on her dagger. She wore a beautiful golden dress, made of what looked to be scales and fitted to her body perfectly. It was slight up both side to allow her comfort when riding horses and fighting, making it easy for her to move. Her arms were covered in long sleeve all the way down to her middle finger, where a piece of string held it there.

Kano stood up straight as he saw someone out of the corner of his eye exit from the gate. He turned and looked up, shaggy dark brown hair obscuring his bright light blue eyes. He knew she was ready for an attack if one was to come her way, being a good tactician, he knew she would have a knife or two hidden somewhere on her person.
As he looked up, he admired the dress she wore. It was of fine make and was absolutely gorgeous. He soon followed it up to meet the eyes of the person who stood before him... Lady Nasuada, the leader of the Varden of whom he wished to join. His eyes locked with hers for a minute before he bowed. "Lady Nasuada, I presume?" He asked bowing respectfully. He then stood up straight and looked at the urgals, lifting his head as a sign of respect towards them. He had met one some time back before his village was destroyed. "It is an honor to meet your acquaintance."

Nasuada _____ _____ _____ _____ She saw him go straight up, his body seemed confident, but she kept moving, she was still away from him, had yet to pass him. His shaggy hair was just one thing that made her be more prepared and she knew the Kulls were ready in case something like this were to happen. She could not see his eyes, she needed to see his eyes to know if he was thinking of something to do.
He seemed to be looking at her, two of her men had gotten closer and she hated the guard like this. She watched him carefully before she saw him bow and she ordered her men to halt. "Lady Nasuada, I presume?" She looked at him.
"I am," Her voice very graceful and strong, showing her leadership and her way of life. She watched him stand straight, showing the Kulls there respect and they accepted it with nothing more then a look. She had learned the way of the Kulls, that much she had no other chose but to do.
"It is an honor to meet your acquaintance." She looked at him carefully, watching him before she brought herself forward.
"Who are you? What is it that you need?" She looked dead at him, wanting to make sure she knew his reason.

Kano tensed up a little bit before making sure his eyes were visible. They were a deep sapphire blue that showed determination, perseverance, and overall a strength that was unusual in a human.
"My name is Kano, Kano Inazuma. As for why I am here, you could ask any of the soldiers in your army and they would answer similarly. My family was killed, my town was destroyed, and I am the last one left. My hatred would best be funneled into helping the Varden as much as I can." He said calmly, no hint of anger or annoyance in his voice. He was able to keep his cool, even with Urgals around... No, not just Urgals, Kull. He didn't like it, but he accepted it as a fact of life that eventually all had to come together. "In addition, I am a metalsmith. More particularly an armorer."

Nasuada _____ _____ _____ _____ She saw him tense up a little, his eyes seen as she looked into his deep sapphire eyes and smiled a little when she saw nothing in them but honesty, at least, what she could see was honesty. He was determined, persevered, and very strong in will. "My name is Kano, Kano Inazuma. As for why I am here, you could ask any of the soldiers in your army and they would answer similarly. My family was killed, my town was destroyed, and I am the last one left. My hatred would best be funneled into helping the Varden as much as I can." She listened to him, thought about his words and tried to think of what else she could say that would help him be a varden soldier, if she allowed him into the army.
He was calm, it would help him in the long run. He held no anger, no annoyance at her own question or her answer. He was being very calm around the Kulls, which she was grateful for. She had to calm them many times so that she could at least work with them at night. "In addition, I am a metalsmith. More particularly an armorer." She nodded and touched her forearm as she crossed her arms.
"Very well, but I do not wish for you to funnel anger in our war effort, for anger goes to worse then just fighting, you become a animal and I do not wish for that... Learn to be careful with your anger, it will help you more in the long run," She said as she signaled for her guards to moved out further, leaving only one Kull, Ipacka, to be with her. They had become good friends, able to laugh and talk without any forced speak. "Everyone here holds similar stories... However, your metal skills will come in handy and I am sure I can find a place to put you... I was on my way to the army now, come and join me Kano." She said to him as she signaled for everyone to come.

Kano bowed to her. "I will be sure to keep that in mind, m'lady." He said as he followed after her on foot. He didn't want to offend anyone at this point. In fact, it was never his point to insult or offend. If he ever did, it was not on purpose, or because he misstepped something.
As he followed her, his eyes wandered, his pack weighing heavy on his back for some odd reason. He didn't know why.

The bloody weather had finally let up, leaving me feeling, for seemingly the first time in my life, warm. For the entire godforsaken winter, I’d done my missions for the Varden and the Empire alike in the freezing cold, suffering from frostbite, cracked lips, and cold that settled in my very bones and never left. But now, finally, I seemed to have been freed from it.
Not that it was scorching as a desert. Not yet, at least. Thankfully, Surda, being on the edge of the Hadarac, was far warmer than the Empire, but all and any forms of cold bothered me. So, I was wearing a coat. My entire outfit pointed out that I was a man of wealth- the deep brown velvet breeches on my legs, the fine pale linen of my tunic, the shiny, gold-trimmed black leather of my shoes, but the coat was by far the most impressive. Pitch-black velvet, with silver patterns of vines lining the flaps and collar, it was one of my favourite items to wear, and one of the few pieces of clothing that I’d managed to keep Sthenno from stealing. The kleptomaniac werecat had managed to take nearly every other decent thing I had to wear, and it was beginning to get on my nerves. Besides the coat, I also had a glossy silver medallion with an image of a dragon hanging on a heavy gold chain around my neck. My pale blonde hair was clean and brushed, tied into a sleek ponytail, and I looked prim and polished. My sabre hung on my belt, brushing against my left leg as I walked.
Naturally, I was given a wide berth. An elf strolling down the street and dressed to kill was not what the average Surdan citizen saw, and I wasn’t bothered. Although, I could feel several lingering stares on my back as I passed the crowds of peasants. It put me in a rarely cheerful mood, even though my visit to Aberon wasn’t for any particularly joyous reason.
I was off to see Nasuada. That in itself wasn’t too brilliant- the human hardly trusted me. I couldn’t exactly blame her, though. She seemed to have a knack for reading people, even elves, probably from all those political skills her father had ingrained into her. Being a double agent, I wasn’t exactly the most trusted person in the Varden, and not many people were so forgiving for it, either. I lived in Urû’baen, ate there, slept there, went to work every morning there. My work in the Twin Lamps, all my heavy research with the unknown realms of magic, was done in the palace of Urû’baen. And I couldn’t always let the Varden know about the discoveries; otherwise Galbatorix would get suspicious and start watching his scientists. And I couldn’t escape his mental power, no matter how conditioned I was. I’d known the man. I’d been his friend. And being so close to him had given me more than enough verification of his enormous power.
And it wasn’t enough that I was just in the Twin Lamps. I’d joined the Tribunal, as well, one of Galbatorix’s spy organizations that happened to specialize in counter-espionage and ‘dealing’ with captured Varden spies and sympathizers. And, obviously, I had to do some work for the Empire in order to keep my disguise up, which meant killing a few Vardeners here, and sabotaging their invasion plans here. I was pretty sure Nasuada understood my reasons for my attacks against the Varden. That didn’t mean she had to like them. Plus, I guessed she could tell that I wasn’t all for the Varden. It was too small, too weak to overthrow Galbatorix and all those loyal to him. And I wasn’t the most subtle when it came to hiding my thoughts, if I bothered to hide them at all. So, I couldn’t call myself the most loved person in the Varden. Even my status as an ex-Dragon Rider didn’t do much to impress anyone, considering I had been on Galbatorix’s side long enough to do plenty of damage to my own kind, the humans, and the dwarves. But hell, at least I wasn’t a Forsaken.
My thoughts somewhat dampened my easy-going mood, and I shrugged my coat a little higher onto my shoulders, adjusting my black gloves. It was a questionable thing to most people, wearing gloves on such a warm day, but I had to hide both the gedwëy ignasia on my right hand and the fact that my left arm wasn’t a proper arm. I flexed the prosthetic metal, making sure it was suitably hidden by both the coat and the glove. The last thing I needed, I supposed, was any more attention. With a sigh, I turned onto the next street, a wide, elegant cobblestone road that led right up to the castle.
I had unpleasant news for Nasuada. The Tribunal had captured yet another group of spies, and they were currently being tortured back in Urû’baen for information on the Varden. As soon as the Tribunal got the information they needed, the four of them would be executed. Same old, same old. Most disturbingly, however, they’d been double agents themselves. They’d been the opposite of me, pretending to work for the Varden while actually collecting information for the Empire. I’d wiped their memories of working for the Empire, leaving them confused and disoriented, but it was still a complete botheration to know that I wasn’t alone. Therefore, I had decided to go to Surda myself to make sure Nasuada found out that the Empire was wising up to her tricks.
I made my way up to the castle gates, where I was stopped by a purple-clad soldier. Sometimes, I was waved through immediately after they saw that I was an elf, but at other times they kept their guard up. I got through easily enough, though, with a flash of the heavily inked parchment that was my pass into nearly any restricted area in all of Surda. I got through without any commotion. Once in the courtyard, I was greeted by a pleasant surprise. Nasuada was right outside, immediately recognized by the mass of multi-racial guards surrounding her, the Nighthawks, as well as the finery she always wore- today, it was a long-sleeved scaly golden dress. Normally, I had to wait several hours to gain admittance to her chambers in the castle, but now I had the rare opportunity to go right up to her.
Or at least figuratively go right up to her. As soon as I approached, the Nighthawks formed a protective ring around their leader. Nasuada’s eyes were on a tall, fit human leaning against the castle wall. His face was scarred, giving him an older appearance, but his bright blue eyes were young, unlike my own, sloe-black and full of age. She hadn’t noticed my presence yet, but the Nighthawks pointed their weapons at me like I was a dangerous-looking animal.
“Hold it, elf. Why do you approach Lady Nightstalker?” The speaker was a Kull, his voice and accent so harsh and snarling that it was difficult for me to understand the words. I stopped a respectable distance away from the Kull and gave him a shallow bow. Then, I flipped out my trusty pass from the pocket of my coat, waving it in the Kull’s face.
“Espionage business, Kull,” I said in my smooth baritone of a voice. “I wish to speak to the Lady.”

Ava Vorandeer
*Ava stirs in her cot, hearing the procession draw near the gates. She and her "parents" were stationed near the entrance of the army's area of Surda that Nasuada and her shows often came through. She was, despite the amount of visits Nasuada makes, always there. A show of support must always be welcome, and this cause is more honorable than I have fought for. Thats the only sort of cause that is... worthy of my skill
She rises from her cot and quickly dresses in her average fashion, a sleeveless, comfortable top, which happened to be a deep green today, and a pair of comfortable, flexible black pants. She wears her longsword on her hip and makes sure her long hair is in order, then emerges from her tent, slowly proceding towards the procession. As she nears, she bows to Nasuada.*
You have my support, as always, Nasuada. That is... as long as you continue to pay us well.
*She smirks and bows, making sure to convey a light, joking tone with the last part.
She looks towards the Elf that is talking to Nasuada's guard, and takes slight interest in him, then turns back to Nasuada, noting the human walking with her, and wondering what warranted such odd company. No matter... Hopefully, all will be revealed soon. However, it would be much easier to discover if I am able to accompany "Lady Nightstalker". Ava smiles at Nasuada, then asks politely,*
If I may join you, today, Nasuada, it would be my pleasure.

Nasuada _____ _____ _____ _____ She took the bow graciously and nodded her own. "I will be sure to keep that in mind, m'lady." She nodded again before she just stood there for a moment, her men turning into a bit of a tighter circle before she turned her head to see the well dressed, blond elf, knowing him from many visits before. He was a lucky elf, that was all she had to say, a trader to his kind, and a slight nuisance to her and her reason for this war.
“Hold it, elf. Why do you approach Lady Nightstalker?” Nasuada moved forward a little, placing her hand on his forearm, his soft fingers touching his rough skin gentle. Her main Kull and her chosen leader in this outfit was well protective of her.
“Espionage business, Kull,” She glanced at him for a moment, her own distaste written on her face. “I wish to speak to the Lady.” She had a pretty good feeling that would be the case and she just patted the Kulls arm and he moved back.
"Then what matter do you have to ruin my day?" It was a simple question, but it was a question non the less. She waited for him to speak and then heard the sound of footsteps, turning her head slightly to see a young woman in dark green.
"You have my support, as always, Nasuada. That is... as long as you continue to pay us well," Another one which she could go this war without. She was already in a bad enough mood and she did not need her payed people getting in her way or even telling her what she 'needed' to do.
"Ava, last I checked I knew that, I don't believe I need to be reminded of the pay you receive," She said as she pushed forward pasted her Kulls and looked back at Kano. The sound of Ava.
"If I may join you, today, Nasuada, it would be my pleasure?" She turned her head back to Ava for a mere moment and sighed.
"If you wish, I am going to the Army to see what they need and how I can help," The sighs of a few men and dwarfs were heard, but the Kulls that guarded her were more then happy to see her doing something strong.

I took a moment to glance a little harder at the Kull as he spoke. Urgals. I’d had very little experience with them. Occasionally, the attacks that had been carried out by the Forsworn were on the occasional village that we happened upon, so I’d never seen one right up close except for my occasional visits to Surda. They were, in my opinion, mildly fascinating. They carried neither the sheer stupidity of the humans, nor the over-eloquence of the elves, or the greed of the dwarves. They were machines of war, completely unreadable, which was a first for me. I turned my head slightly to gaze at its yellow, piggish eyes, which were currently narrowed in suspicion. They were hard and determined. He was quite clearly bent on protecting Nasuada at any cost. Even when I saw her long, elegant fingers brush his thick grey arm, he kept his guard up, although gave a submissive grunt and moved back a few steps.
“Then what matter do you have to ruin my day?” It was Nasuada’s voice, made obvious from the sharp clarity that she spoke with. She was so similar to Ajihad in so many ways. However, a certain aggressive tone in her voice made me raise my pale eyebrows and turn towards her. She was clearly having a bad day. Her dark eyes were narrowed almost into slits, her lips were pressed together in a thin line, and a dark cloud of rage seemed to be hovering around her. Even her guards weren’t quite as close to her as they could have been, except for the Kull who’d stopped me. Maybe I hadn’t picked the best day to come. But still, I figured that my news was far more important than some human’s mood swings, no matter their status.
“If you wish, I am going to the Army to see what they need and how I can help.” She was speaking to someone else now. I turned my head and immediately spotted the small, lithe elf in dark green and black who had appeared near the Nighthawks. Her ears were rounded and her eyes and face were round, but I could sense the heavy magical aura around her and immediately recognized the girl as an elf. A very young one, but an elf nonetheless. Besides the magic, she had the stunning features that all elves possessed, although a little more rounded from the effects of making herself appear human. Unlike most elves, however, she possessed an easy-going nature about herself, and her lips were turned upwards in a smirk, unlike my calm, cool collectiveness. Nasuada didn’t seem to be in the mood for her either, though. She immediately turned away and starting making for the army encampment further off. Without missing a beat, my slick pace immediately caught up to her, and I fell into step right beside her. I couldn’t help but poke a little fun at the anger she was so blatantly showing.
“With all due respect, My Lady, I would advise you to show some more respect to your elven employees. It might affect your current good standing with Queen Islanzadí if she heard that you were behaving… undiplomatically.”
That got her attention. She turned sharply towards me, dress flying out to make a glittering cape behind her. Her hand snatched the hilt of an elegant dagger resting right next to her sword on her belt. I seriously doubted she’d try anything, though. Even humans weren’t stupid enough to pull out a weapon on an armed elf. She was probably just grabbing it out of instinct. And, of course, out of irritation.
“Forgive me, elf,” she said tightly. “You are Remy, correct? Remy Kamenwati?” She was awfully scatterbrained if she couldn’t remember even my name. I bowed slightly. “In the flesh. I’m here from Urû’baen with news of a quartet of your spies.”
Her eyes saddened. One good thing about humans was their remorse. Not all of them felt it, but when they did, it was particularly strong, and I’d learned from it that it could be used to one’s own advantage. I had learned to ignore my own. If I ever dipped into it again, I doubted I could ever spring out of it. My long years of total insanity had taught me never to wallow in unnecessary emotions again. And even now, those were memories I wanted to forget, so I hurriedly pushed them to the back of my mind again. I was worried the smug look on my face might have momentarily slipped, so I pulled it up again, looking straight into Nasuada’s dark, intelligent eyes.
“Would you rather I inform you now or shall I wait until we have an opportunity for some privacy?” I purred, my voice now smooth and silky. Suddenly, I was in a good mood again. Word Count;; 808 Muse;; Eek! Thoughts;; Short from NaNoing. Sorreh. D=[/size]

Kano watched the group converge on the leader of the Varden and stepped away a bit, blinking and feeling like he was brushed off by all the others. He didn't mind, but he didn't particularly like it either. Again, he felt as if he had been pushed aside. His eyes shifted and watched the others nervously. He didn't do so well with crowds, and it seemed as if a crowd was forming. This did not bode well for Kano, especially since he was somewhat claustrophobic.
As the elf began speaking of spies from Uru'baen, his eyes narrowed and his blood immediately began to simmer under his skin. He remembered his brother and his band of traitors who had betrayed his parents to the Empire and destroyed the village to them as well. Kano hated him for it, he hated them with all of the energy in his body. That was what drove him to join the varden. It was the intense hatred for the treachery that took everything he ever cared about away from him. He knew humans were short-lived, but his brother would soon be even more short lived if he had anything do do with it.
As he stood and listened, he stayed silent. He did not want to interrupt the elf who, unlike most of the others, seemed to actually have a reason for approaching Nasuada. The Urgal guards did not bother Kano. They wouldn't hurt him unless he made a move too stupid or tried to attack Nasuada. He wouldn't do that, not on his life. It would have been the first and last mistake he would have made of the day.

Nasuada _____ _____ _____ _____ “With all due respect, My Lady, I would advise you to show some more respect to your elven employees. It might affect your current good standing with Queen Islanzadí if she heard that you were behaving… undiplomatically.” Nasuada also knew she had many elves on her side and she knew of many whom did not like this one because of the fact he worked for both sides, if she had heard correctly, but he could be very useful at time.
“Forgive me, elf,” She said, her voice still sharp and tight as she tried to remember the stupid elves name. She wanted only one thing and that was to get to her men on the front lines, awaiting the next attack. She moved on ahead, waiting to see what he would say next. However, she had yet to finish speaking. “You are Remy, correct? Remy Kamenwati?” She continued walking towards the army for a moment.
“In the flesh. I’m here from Urû’baen with news of a quartet of your spies.” She did not like the sound of such things and she glanced over at him. She had tried to hid most of her emotions for her spies, but many were close friends who had worked up the ranks. “Would you rather I inform you now or shall I wait until we have an opportunity for some privacy?” She looked at him, thinking of a idea.
"We will speak later in my room, until then, speak of no one about my spies, for not many in the Varden know I use them since they do very secretive things, I would rather no one think they can do that just out of the blue," Most of her spies went through strict training and she wanted to keep it that way. She continued to walk, knowing the other two elves were with her, her guards and the other young man. She looked over at him, motioning him to join her at the front.
"Kano, what area of my army would you wish to be a part of?" She wanted to forget about that stupid elf for a few moment, put on a happy face for her men and continue to show her out most support. She wanted nothing more then to kill that damn "king" if you wanted to call him that and his dragon too, even though she had heard the story of his dragon being a prisoner. The head Kull walked directly behind her... She had taken a liking to his Kull, they could laugh and talk without a problem, unlike the others were reluctant to, but these Kulls were much easier to talk to after weeks to protection.

*Ava drifts to the background without replying to Nasuada, feeling it best not to patronize her even though its fun to do so, closing her eyes and relaxing a bit, following the group with her sense of hearing. She doesn't mind being in the background. She doesn't even really know why shes here, except she is enjoying listening to the other elf, as well as helping annoy Nasuada.
I should feel bad about annoying my benefactor right now, but eh. I'm bored and need a mission. Maybe if I bug her enough she'll send me somewhere to get me out of her hair... Frontline perhaps?
Ava chuckles to herself, knowing THAT wont happen soon. Probably. She follows Kano and looks him over, assessing him as much as she can. Ava then looks over the other Elf and tries to do it to him, then hears Nasuada and him talking, and chuckles softly at his... threat... then hears his name, and Nasuada's order to wait til they are alone, as "Few people knows she uses them".
Isn't that a little naive, hon? Of course you use them, and a lot of people just kinda brush it off. Its part of the package.
She chuckles at the thought, then thinks about Remy's reputation and decides that Remy would be fun to be around, and slips to an area between Remy and Kano, listening and opening my eyes slightly, sizing both of them and listening to most the conversations going on around them.
Ava smiles when Nasuada asks Kano what job he wants to fill, and listens while watching Remy, slightly interested in what the human is going to say, but also interested in this double agent ahead of him.
This... is going to be an eye-opening day...*
