Elaniver smiled and nodded, he watched her stand up and assumed that someone less than desirable was in the room as of course why else would she have stood up? He had learned long ago to trust the reactions of others around him as an indication as to what exactly was going on around him. So he didn’t have to continually turn his head around and around like an owl just to keep track of what was going on in the other parts of the room. He waited for a while after she got up staring at the seat she had just vacated, thinking. Was she of the Varden? Or was she someone working independently to try and bring down Galbatorix? He had little time to ponder the thought however as he stood up himself, throwing his travelling cloak over one shoulder and leaning on his war hammer as he got up out of his seat. His powerful presence of sheer mass coming across strong as he drew himself to his fullest height and turned around to walk after her.
He caught sight of the three young looking soldiers and understood the further reasons as to why they had to continue the conversation in her room. A prospect that he would have welcomed conversation or otherwise. He walked past them stopping for a moment and staring at them from a side on position his war hammer glinting in the light as he cast his eyes over them. They noticed his gaze and looked hurriedly back to the bar, ordering drinks as though they hadn’t been doing anything in particular. He turned his face back towards the stairs and continued on after her, satisfied with the men’s reaction to him staring at them. He followed her up the stairs to her room, which he entered through the door after her calmly, his muscles still bulging against his shirt as though yearning to be free from their restraints.

She smiled as she heard him coming towards the stairs and left her door open so he would not have to wonder which one was her room. She placed her daggers on the bed, along with her sword and then took off her coat, revealing what she wore. A pair of brown pants were tight over her hip and legs then flared out at her knees and over her feet, which were covered by brown boots. Her torso was covered by a tight long sleeve tunic, that hid her skin. She placed her cloak on a hook that was on the wall, which made her free to move without such a hold on her body. She turned as Elaniver entered the room, her steel eyes getting a better look at him, he was a nice looking man.
"Now, back to what we were speaking of," She said with a smile, standing beside the window and looking out at the street, seeing some more soldier move down the streets. She was worried that they may have found the dead soldier, but honestly, they would know nothing of her doing the deed of taking someone's life. I did bother her some, since she did not like to kill, the sight of the young boy, he was only her age and she had killed him.

Elaniver smiled and stood in the centre of the room, glancing around it for a moment, taking in the walls ceiling and floor before turning his eyes back to Autumn. He rested his war hammer on the floor handle first, leaning on the hammer with both hands in front of him. “What is there to continue?” He said simply, it was now clear that they were of the same mind when it came to the mad king of the land. It would be a relief for all the land if the king simply weren’t there. Elaniver happened to be one of many, who would willingly attempt to make that a reality, no matter what the manner may be. Galbatorix must die was an aim that many people in the land carried, however there was of course the Empire itself which showed an impressive desire to not be crushed and disbanded. “I am a warrior of the Varden. The Empire murdered my family and they tried and failed to enslave me. I now aim to return the favour somewhat and drive this war hammer through Galbatorix’s jaw.”
His voice had been rather forceful as he said it, a slight growling tint to it as he spoke of exactly what he wanted to do to the man who had done so much to him in the past. Of course Galbatorix himself didn’t order the battalion of Empire soldiers to do what they did. But they were under his command, he was the grand architect of all the suffering going on in the world. He heard a commotion outside and walked over to the window where Autumn was, brushing against her slightly as he looked out of the window. Soldiers seemed to be assembling outside in the street, it wasn’t clear what they were doing but he doubted very much that it was a simple drill. He gripped his war hamer tightly and firmly, gazing down at them, wondering what they were doing.

“What is there to continue?" She looked over at him and nodded with agreement, there was nothing more they needed to speak of, she understood they held the same goal. “I am a warrior of the Varden. The Empire murdered my family and they tried and failed to enslave me. I now aim to return the favour somewhat and drive this war hammer through Galbatorix’s jaw," She smiled at him, for she wanted the same fate for their wonderful king, but it looked like someone had told the soldier of the two people. Autumn and Elaniver were in danger here and they needed to get the hell out. She looked at him, pulling on her cloak. "I agree, that King needs to be gone, but we ourselves need to get the hell out of here, it looks like we have some company," She did not want to be where there were a lot of soldier and she doubted he wanted to too. "Do you have a horse, if you don't we will need to get you one, there is a stable not far from here, but if we are to leave now he have to hurry before sunset or we will be trapped inside the city," She knew that at night the city gates were closed and no one could get out.

Elaniver nodded in agreement, his eyes still fixed on the soldiers below. One of them looked up at the window and pointed them out. To Elaniver, this was fairly straightforward as situations go. Very simple to deal with at first hand. He doubted very much that the pub had a back door that wasn’t already covered by other soldiers, no one. No matter how in-experienced or downright stupid could possibly be as thick as to not make sure all the exits were sealed and escape routes temporarily blocked for that time being. His breathed got slightly heavier as he wondered whether it would be worth simply fighting through this skirmish and running to these stables Autumn had spoken of to get a horse before getting as far away as possible. There were ten men entering the pub from the front and there grunts were audible even up in the small room were the two plotters stood at the window. They evidentially didn’t know how dangerous they were otherwise they would have sent more men surely.
Elaniver threw on his travelling cloak and gripped his war hammer firmly with both hands on different parts of the handle. “Do you know your way around here? Enough to get us out of the city in about 15 minutes to half an hour?” He asked mainly because he had absolutely no idea of the huge city’s lay out. He had no idea where anything was except for this inn where he was supposed to meet someone, but that would evidentially have to be handled by someone else at another time. ‘The Game’ stood before Autumn waiting for a plan which was better than his as he had no knowledge of the city. If they needed to smash their way out of the city then he was in his element.

She had already turned from the window and threw on her daggers and sword. She pulled on the cloak, moving quickly as she looked back at him. Her steel eyes were hard now. “Do you know your way around here? Enough to get us out of the city in about 15 minutes to half an hour?” She nodded and ran out her door and knocked on the one across the hall. She signaled him to come out as she opened it and went into it.
"Lets go out this window, the stable will be right under us and we can get in through the roof, their may be a horse in there you could us," She was quick and went to the window and looked out it. No one was there and with one movement of her elbow she broke the window and signaled him to come on. She jumped out, her cloak flaring out behind her as she landed on the hay covered roof of the stables. She drew her sword and cut through the rook and dropped down in it. With quick movements she locked the stable doors and went to her stallions stall.
Her horse knew something was happening and she had no problems letting him get excited. She saddled him quickly, strapping her bow and quiver of arrows back on the saddle. She had left her bow, quiver, and tack in the stall with her stallion, she did not need to carry everything. She saddled him up and waited, seeing a rather large war horse in the back of the stables. He was a large Bay, perfect for Elaniver.

Elaniver waited for her signal to follow him, his fingers clenching and un-clenching around the handle of his war hammer as he waited. He hurried out after her upon the signal and as she jumped down paused to look down the corridor. A single soldier seemed to storm his way up the stairs and run at Elaniver without even breaking step, sword held high, Elaniver quickly flicked his hammer up into both hands and lunged forward suddenly. His war hammer hitting the man in the gut. The man jerked through the air and landed on all fours coughing violently. Elaniver belted his war hammer and picked the man up by the scruff and the belt to throw him into the oncoming soldiers. They disappeared down the stairs and Elaniver picked up the mans dropped sword and hurled it down the corridor through a window at the end of the corridor. A loud smash sounded as the window broke and shattered Elaniver swiftly slipped into the room Autumn had gone into and closed the door. He heard pounding footsteps outside in the corridor as the soldiers came back up the stairs and charged to the now broken window. Satisfied he jumped out after Autumn and landed on the roof. He noticed the break in the straw that covered the roof and kicked it a bit wider before jumping down, landing in a crouch.
He looked around to see Autumn saddling her horse and further looked around in sheer desperation for a horse that was big enough for him. He shook his head to almost all until he set his eyes at the end of the stables, a large jet black war horse. He approached it from the front slowly, keeping eye contact and licked his fingers once holding them out to the horses nose. The horse sniffed and whinnied slightly, “I’ll take that as a yes then,” Elaniver muttered before grabbing a saddle and hurriedly attaching it to the horse. He swung himself up onto the beast who did not complain and trotted out to Autumn. “We probably have about 10 to 15 minutes max before they lower the gates. Take the shortest route and I’ll follow, don’t worry about soldiers focus on speed.”

She nodded, pulling her hood over her and kicking her horse. She moved to the door of the stables and then with a kick of her own leg, it flung open and she kicked her horse out. She had her sword out, her cloak flying behind her as she rode on, her braid flew behind her also, the hood had flown off and was hitting her back with each jerk of the horse. She moved down each ally, wanting not to be seen, but she knew the cuts and came on different streets. She did her very best and soon the gates came into site. She growl, it was closing, this was all they needed.
Her eyes narrowed and she kicked her horse harder, trying to get by. They still had time, the horses could make it. Men were running towards them from the gate, but with another kick, her large frisian picked up even more speed and soon sailed past them and onto the rising gate. She kicked him again and he flew over it. She kept running when he landed, not wanting any arrows to hit her. She stopped just out of reach from any arrows and looked towards the city, waiting for Elaniver to join her. She had a smile on her face, pleased with what had just happened.
Her heart was pounding in her chest, the blood went through her veins like fire. She looked at the city, it would be a while before they returned to this town. She looked at him, her steel blue eyes held amusement, mostly at how they had escaped the hands of the soldier.
"Good way to get to know someone new," She said to him as she turned her stallion and started down the trail. She could stay on the trail at a good lope for a while.

Elaniver almost flew after her as they rode down various alleyways. He had no idea where they are or which way they were heading as he rode on the strong and determined steed beneath him, he just trusted Autumn’s judgement and knowledge of the city to get them out quickly instead of stealthily. Stealthy wasn’t what they needed to be at the moment, what they really need to be was quick and luckily the steed that Elaniver had chosen could keep up with the speed of Autumn’s horse. He glanced up at ahead to see that the gates were closing; he saw Autumn spur her steed on faster and did the same. Gritting his teeth as he watched the gates close with such precision and in trepidation he could almost count how many centimetres he had left. Guards ran up to block their path but Autumn managed to evade them. Elaniver wasn’t so lucky however, he saw them close in around him and urged the black war horse to jump. He slipped off of the beast as it leapt over all of the gaurds and kept on running. His eyes firmly fixed on the closing gates. He ran forwards. Ignoring the soldiers behind him he only focused on what was in front of him.
He charged faster and bowled through two soldiers with his immence bulk before they could draw their swords and kept on running. The next men had their weapons drawn and they both swung at Elaniver who raised his war hammer up to block. He slid the swords off of the hammer and abruptly changed his momentum. The hammer connecting with both of the men’s cheekbones one after another, each with a sickening crunch. He continued on his way the closing gates now down to his shoulders. He jabbed at one man with his hammer feeling a small splat as the man’s nose caved into his face and kicked another in the groin before smahing his hammer straight onto the mans helmet. Feeling the helmet give way and part of the man’s skull going in with it. The gates were now down to his hip level. Elaniver felt a sharp stab of pain shoot through his back as a sword blade slashed it. He roared and grabbed the man who had swung the sword and threw him into his following comrades. Bowling them all over. He grimaced in pain and glanced up at the gates. They were down to knee level. He lurched forwards. Slaying men whenever they got in the way until finally he crushed one with his hammer to his chest against the stone wall around the gates. With the gates almost closed he rolled under them and out of the city. He stood up with a grimace and pressed his nose against the gates, glaring at the guards with a rage filled leer. He broke contact with the gates and shouted at them with his hammer held high. “I am ‘The Game’!” With that he lurched off to his waiting steed and followed Autumn down the trail.

She rode at a easy lope for about a mile before she slowed and let her horse trot. She wanted to get away from the city, but she knew her horse was tired after the hard ride through the city, he needed a good rest. It had only been a few hours since there arrival and they needed to be easy going. She looked back down the trail, the city was out of site, but that did not mean anything about the soldier, they could be on them quickly.
"Come on, let move or we may get caught and I do not feel like being in prison," She said with a smile and kicked the stallion and went on forward, going at a steady gallop and moving with him. She kept her sword out, ready for a encounter with soldier. She looked at Elaniver and thought back to the pub. It was pretty quick for the men to figure out they were trouble, but how did they find them, no one just guess they are trouble, not even the three young soldiers had time to tell anyone who they were. She thought about it for a moment and then the bartender came to mind. "Do you think that Barman heard us talking?" She asked, her steel eyes hidden under her hood as they moved. The sun had set, but there was still light for them to move at least another hundred yards before they made camp.

Elaniver winced whenever the stallion he had picked out of the stables jerked too violently. The guard’s sword had gone into his back fairly deep and the wound steadily throbbed as Elaniver replaced his war hammer onto his belt. Doubtful that soldiers would meet them from the front and confident that if they gave chase then he would hear them long before they got within a dangerous distance. He tore his shirt off as of course he hated having to wear such a garment and threw aside to the floor. Stretching with a wince as the large wound on his back gave a particularly vicious throb from being stretched. The warhorse beneath him seemed to be in fairly good shape, it wasn’t tired as such from the exertion of the previous ride. More of, in need of a chance to get its breath back. The steady trot was giving it this opportunity rather well as they ventured away from the now bristling city. He heard her question and nodded painfully. “My moneys on him. Shame…that was a good stew he gave me too.” He gave a half hearted grin as they trotted away Elaniver glancing back occasionally to make sure that they weren’t being pursued by any more soldiers that were more tenacious than there colleagues.
He gazed out over the horizon and one hand went to the wound on his back. He winced as he touched it and was surprised at the size of the gash that was there. He knew that it was a fairly deep wound but he never expected it to be such a wide amount of flesh that had been split as well. “Blast!” He muttered to himself as he gave a hard cough into his hand. His other hand returning from behind his back to rest on the reins in front of him once more. Ideally he needed medical attention but this wasn’t an ideal situation.

She nodded in reason with him and rode on with him, before she herself went into the woods and away from the rode. They needed to get off the road and make camp before it got to dark. As she heard him say something, she slowed and saw the gash on his back and the blood. She knew now, they had to stop, she could fix him up, but she knew it would be sore for a few days. She moved deep into the woods and soon found a nice size clearing to hold them and the horses, and it was far enough away from the road, so the fire would not be seen.
"We can stop here," She said to him as she brought her own horse to a stop and then dismounted. She looked up at him, giving him a kind smile as best she could. They had just out smarted the soldiers and not only that, evaded them, but with some injuries to him. "Sorry about your back... Let me help you," She felt bad, she knew they were probably after her for killing the soldier, but she knew also, it was because they were going to Surda and to join the Varden.

Elaniver’s face muscles seemed to relax as they rode into the forest. The suns glare unable to pound down onto them because of the tree’s shield. Elaniver looked down at her, jolted out of his quiet reverie as she announced that they could rest here. He slid off of the warhorse he had stolen and patted the animal graciously on the flank with a wince followed by an angry look at nothing in particular. He had had much worse than this; he didn’t get the right to wince just because of this. It angered him that the blow had affected him so much. He looked up at her apology and shook his head with a lazy smile. “Don’t be sorry, you got us out. Unless you were the one who thrust the sword into my back, you haven’t got anything to apologise about.” He let the large animals reigns fall by its side, trusting the animal to stay close. He didn’t know why he trusted it as he had of course stolen it but the animal seemed to respond to him. On that basis it wouldn’t go far from him.
He sidled round to her and gave a hard cough into his hand glancing down with surprise to find a spray of blood covering his palm. He clenched his fist over his palm and ignored it. Like he thought, he had had much worse than this. He wouldn’t let himself go down to such a minor injury. He turned around for her, going on the basis that if she were going to help him then it would be helpful if she could actually see the wound. “How long will it take to patch up?” He asked curiously, wondering about their time frame. “We should be ready to ship out again in about an hour, two at the latest.” Elaniver would have preferred to ship out in about 10 minutes but knew full well that that was very unrealistic. The horses could do with a break and although he didn’t like to admit it. He needed attention instead of crawling into the varden camp for medical attention.

She smiled at him, her steel eyes still holding some sorry in them and then as she turned around, shock hit her face. It did not look good. It would take weeks to heal completely, but only thirty minutes for her to patch up. She pulled out some cloth from her pouch and hit some water on the cloth, damping it so she could clear hind wound. She looked over her should, still no sign of trouble, so she went to work.
"It will not take me long, I promise, 30 minutes and we can get moving on it, but let wait a hour to allow the horses some rest," She knew that if the horses were not able to rest they would get no where fast. She looked at the cloth and then let out a breath, she knew this was going to burn some because of the fact that she would have pressure on the cloth, but she knew she had to do it. "It's going to stink... I am going to clean it and then stick it up," She started to clean it then, going around the wound first and then on the edges. She poured some water from the water skin and then after it was clean started to stitch it up. She let out a sigh and then after she was finished put water on it again to clean it one more time. It had taken her a little over thirty minutes, but she was happy with the quick work.
"It is not the best, but if we keep it clean everytime we stop, we should be clear of infection," She went around him, her hand skimming his back as she walked around so he knew she was coming around. She had taken off her cloak and had draped it on a low rock. She not just wore her tight tunic and tight pants. Her braid was a little messy now, but she did not mind it. "Do it feel any better?"

Elaniver wondered at first what the delay was as there was a small pause as he turned around, he then felt the damp clothe. He heard her words and nodded to them understandingly. Pain was fine, he could pull through that, what concerned him was the cough he had just produced. He knew that she couldn’t do anything major for him out here. Nothing major included internal damage, he could only hope that it wasn’t that serious. Even if it were that serious he wouldn’t have paid any attention to it. He felt the stinging sensation that got ever more intense as it went on and gritted his teeth slightly as his head rolled back. Realising that his hair may get in the way he returned his head to an upright position. He waited, not bothering to count the minutes, as he could only be bothered to guess the time it was taking. It felt a little longer than half an hour once she had finished but not too much. He nodded to her suggestion of cleaning it every time they stopped and looked her up and down. A glazed over expression crossing his face.
He hadn’t seen her out of her travelling cloak and when she had that on he had thought her beautiful. He thought that even more so now as she skated her hand across his back. He moved around a bit at her question and nodded with a smile. “Yes thank you.” He smiled down at her and his eyes wandered slightly over her tight clothes, the glazed over expression crossing his face once more as his eyes travelled. He looked back up to her face and he seemed to come back to the real world just for a moment as his powerful black eyes stared into her steely blue.
